Oh same. It’s the one science I just don’t get. Weird, because I do get astronomy to a certain degree, but plain physics? It’s essentially a foreign language I could never possibly learn.
Honestly, I feel as if pitchers should have some sort of face mask as well. It's bad enough to get hit with a 90 miler (trust me), but when it makes contact and returns at about 110-150 )depending on your hitter of course) you need some sort of face protection just in case.
@The Rock Haha nice one. I was just jokin with ya earlier btw. Baseball players are athletes but for sure its not one of the most consistantly physical sports. (Aside from pitcher especially if doing well)
Soccer: run on averbar over 10 kilometers each game. Baseball: run to the bench to sit and wait another 15 minutes to do something again. Jokes aside, Both sports are ok, but yeah soccer players are much more skilled overall
Something I found interesting: you can see segura in the very first clip enter the frame at 0:54 when Stanton got hit in the face, and then at 3:22 Segura gets hit in the face. Foreshadow.
I’m gonna listen to the people that got drilled Archie Bradley , Happ, Cobb and a few others . None of them liked wearing anything , all of them tried using various “ helmets” none of them liked them . If you look at the number of pitches vs number of face shots and head hits it’s a risk they are willing to take.
I know it's not nearly the same but this is why I quit playing baseball around my middle school/high school days, at the time I was already a ball magnet it seemed, and I just never thought the personal injury was worth it in the end, much respect to these guys, hope they're all doing well.
Ugh I feel this so much!! On both sides. Took a few catches to the face at short stop and hit the ball right back at the pitchers and coaches. Shit is no joke! Pretty sure I have PTSD anytime balls come flying at my face…….😜
🤣 I laughed too. I pitched and had those hits right seemingly at my face 🤣I only got hit once by a batter … he hit a pop up and my dumb ass tripped over the rubber . Cause I called it no one went after it so it wanged off the top of my head as I was falling backwards . Lol E1 the tough way 🤣
I hit a line drive back at the pitcher once and he was suuuuper lucky it barely clipped the bill of his hat. I felt so bad I almost didn’t finish my run to first. I’d known and played with the guy since I was 11 up into my late teens. Small concussion was all he got I believe. Always scary to watch.
I felt so bad for Stanton when he got hit. It must’ve hurt like hell since he broke his jaw, and had Dental Damage. He was one of the best players on the Marlins, and he would be hitting Homeruns left and right. It’s pretty heartbreaking seeing someone’s season ending right in front of their eyes, and it not being their fault.
@@peterf.229Yep. They should make pitchers at least take some warmup pitches after hitting someone in the head and make them come out if they're too (understandably) shaken up. Obviously the pitcher didnt mean to do it but if you're that shaken up it can be pretty hard to throw a semi accurate pitch and its probably scary for the next batter after something like that happens as well
I do gotta admit, I wasn't expecting as many "random ball bouncing back to the face" shots but, honestly I'm glad there's as many of those in here to lighten off the mood. Especially considering, I was expecting waaaaaaaay too many "pitch to the face" shots that would piss me off as much as football dirty hits... 😩
Just wanted to point out that if you see a player get hit and the ball go flying off into the boonies, that's a good thing. That means that ball still had a ton of energy and kept most of it, and the hit player is probably okay. That's whay made Happ's hit so terrifying. The ball lands at his feet. His head took all of that momentum and energy. Absolutey brutal (and blew out his knee going down, which took longer to heal from than the concussion).
+Ramon Colon Teams would start picking up up accuracy hitters as opposed to power hitters. because imagine if bases are loaded bottom of the ninth and you need one run to win. Why take the chance of it being an out and just walk the man on 4th home.

Oh same. It’s the one science I just don’t get. Weird, because I do get astronomy to a certain degree, but plain physics? It’s essentially a foreign language I could never possibly learn.

Not funny man
that's the face you make when your brain has been shut off and is trying to reboot
Dan Jennings is really the scariest hit of them all. It just goes to show that the body shoots right into the "flight or fight" instinct.

Honestly, I feel as if pitchers should have some sort of face mask as well. It's bad enough to get hit with a 90 miler (trust me), but when it makes contact and returns at about 110-150 )depending on your hitter of course) you need some sort of face protection just in case.
Amen
The padres pitcher has that foam thing in his hat
Some pitchers actually wear face masks like that. I don't remember who but one pitcher playing in the MLB now actually does.
But the thing is when pitching, you need a clear view of where your pitching wearing a mask can result in a worse performence
+Huang Tyler uh no..? The one that certain pitcher has only covers his jaw area. It would be stupid to have one covering your eyes
You forgot Randy Johnson's face shot to that bird.

@The Rock Haha nice one. I was just jokin with ya earlier btw. Baseball players are athletes but for sure its not one of the most consistantly physical sports. (Aside from pitcher especially if doing well)
damn b, when the comeback so strong it makes the other dude apologetic and knowledgeable
Soccer: run on averbar over 10 kilometers each game. Baseball: run to the bench to sit and wait another 15 minutes to do something again. Jokes aside, Both sports are ok, but yeah soccer players are much more skilled overall

Soccer - Gets hit with the ball on the arm - “ Aaaaaaaaa take me to the hospital.”
Baseball - “Hold My Beer”
In soccer, injuries to the legs, knees and feet are more common. But can be pretty horrorful to watch, too.
hahaha hogoho i get it because in football no real injuries happen haha! All the injury is faked and hysterical hohihih

I don’t care what they say full face guard helmets should be implemented for pitchers and batters. They can adapt to them. The danger is just to high.
Safety should be priority. It's just a game after all
I’m gonna listen to the people that got drilled Archie Bradley , Happ, Cobb and a few others . None of them liked wearing anything , all of them tried using various “ helmets” none of them liked them . If you look at the number of pitches vs number of face shots and head hits it’s a risk they are willing to take.
They should make a Scott Sterling baseball video.
Off the face, off the bat, home run

I am going to hell for laughing at this comment.
I know it's not nearly the same but this is why I quit playing baseball around my middle school/high school days, at the time I was already a ball magnet it seemed, and I just never thought the personal injury was worth it in the end, much respect to these guys, hope they're all doing well.
I gasped at every single one of these clips, as if I didn't know they were going to get hit in the head. Damn.

It’s so nice to see other teams players helping the opposing team. They know it’s more than a game.
The worst part?
There are people out there who think that headshots like these, are appropriate responses to home run celebrations...
So we’re deserved , like Puig’s. Hit a pitcher because the doyers are low class that’s what happens
I just killed a man with a line drive, what a chance to reach second base!
Well. Game's still on.
None of these people died
If I hit a pitcher with a line drive I would feel bad about it
What a biggest mistakes is!!!
To be fair, he was very distraught after it happened
I pray no player ever gets hit by a Chapman ball. That WOULD be bad ;(
A few people have
Sly8909 - A Head on hit with a chapman pitched ball Would Probably kill a man
Andrew McCutchen took a 101 MPH fastball on the arm from Chapman once
what’s a chapman ball?
A fastball thrown by Aroldis Chapman. He normally throws between 99 and 104 MPH. The fastest he’s thrown is 106 MPH
Ugh I feel this so much!! On both sides. Took a few catches to the face at short stop and hit the ball right back at the pitchers and coaches. Shit is no joke! Pretty sure I have PTSD anytime balls come flying at my face…….😜

I hit a line drive back at the pitcher once and he was suuuuper lucky it barely clipped the bill of his hat. I felt so bad I almost didn’t finish my run to first.
Everyone focused on Stanto but that pitcher hit the next guy in the head too , he was shaken up .
@@peterf.229Yep. They should make pitchers at least take some warmup pitches after hitting someone in the head and make them come out if they're too (understandably) shaken up. Obviously the pitcher didnt mean to do it but if you're that shaken up it can be pretty hard to throw a semi accurate pitch and its probably scary for the next batter after something like that happens as well
The second guy is a freakin savage!
Jake Blazer Mike Matheny
What are you taking about? The shot Happ took, it looks like the ball shot off to the left, glancing off his face

when a pitcher gets hit in the head that should be an automatic dead ball and only one base awarded. come on MLB
People Would Then Abuse That Rule.
+Gabriel Olson so you think the batters would aim for pitchers heads
+Ramon Colon People would do what they gotta do to win
+Gabriel Olson well at least it should be only one base if there's runners on bases
+Ramon Colon Teams would start picking up up accuracy hitters as opposed to power hitters. because imagine if bases are loaded bottom of the ninth and you need one run to win. Why take the chance of it being an out and just walk the man on 4th home.
I feel like pitchers should wear helmets as well just for that slight chance the ball comes back to smack you right in the face
All in all, getting to play baseball is still worth it. Even when you take a nasty blow, nothing is as resilient as the spirit of baseball!
Second clip, that guy took the pitch like a champ!
