      The people that are critical of this man do so out of their own sense of fear and cowardice about such a thing ever happening to them or loved ones they know. Thus to mollify that anxiety they aim to create distance between one's self and from such a reality ever coming to fruition by trying to make the homeless man seem bad in ways that they themselves, or any person acting decently, would ever fall victim to.
      People also derive a lot of pride and soundness of mind from the idea that their country and value system is great as-is. Thus they see the idea of a good man having to live homeless as an attack on the notion of the justness and goodness of their culture and country: things which their personal senses of identity can be deeply wrapped up in. So they narcissistically attack him to undermine the credibility of the perceived slight on one's own culture which the homeless being a good person represents.

I worked with a young man in home mortgages at a large bank and he was hired as a personal banker after two years with the company, no degree. I am proud that I am a (monthly sum) contributor to the Invisible People. You listen to these awesome homeless people and you understand that human life is absolutely socially connected. No one can truly be happy or prosperous in a toxic, unsocial enviroment. Its a dead end situation. I admired this man's positive disposition very much. Hope he gets better financially and spares his cheerfullness to as many people as possible.

    I wonder how this guys is doing now. I mean, this interview was recorded in 2008, and it's been almost 10 years since then. In any case, I hope he's doing well, and isn't homeless anymore. He's too intelligent to be wasting away on the streets, so I hope his situation has been sorted out, and he's found a home, and can make a living, or at least draw on social security. I'm sure he's old enough by now to draw SS. It makes me really sad when I see any homeless people, and I wish there were more services available to help them either get on SS for disability, help them find jobs, get into university, and above all help them find homes to live in. There are so many abandoned buildings, but the corporations that build these buildings are too greedy to give them away, or sell them for a decent price to be built into apartments for low income folks. The United States has the highest homelessness statics in the world, so if other countries have successfully figured out a way to keep their citizens from becoming homeless, then the United States could do that as well. However, we live in a very greedy country, where the federal, and state officials want to keep a lot of that money for themselves instead of helping their people like they should.

      @decentparks3597 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MBArkestra sort of. At the same time I can see how the system can totally fuck you over and over again. For example I had a 3.67 GPA in accounting and now I have a 2.9 because I pissed 1 teacher off and she failed me. This is because apparently a 64 goes in as a zero gpa. I have had teachers actually forge my signature and change all my answers so I do badly.

      ben grey what am I going to do about it? This whole world runs on fraud. From the stock market to the court system to the police department to the colleges if you have money you can get away with anything besides maybe murder. I have signed waivers so that I could go to the hospital faster when I shouldn’t have because I was seriously hurt in elementary school by negligence. little do I know those waivers apparently prevent me from suing the school later. My next school literally had lead pipes removed after I graduated and the whole school was probably poisoned with lead. All I’m trying to say is that I know what it feels like to want to just live in a tent somewhere because you have been fucked over too many times. But heck I am still going.
