I purchased one directly from the factory an ex test vehicle - I shipped it to Australia converted it to Right Hand drive and supplied it to a drilling company they put a huge RC Drillrig on it - that one had the 8V92DDEC 500hp - no Aircon - no CTIS but that truck is still working good today - that was in 1997 - ❤
Several years ago I saw a couple on YT that bought a HEMTT (don't know which model) and slapped a toy hauler box on the frame and made it their full time home they travel the country in.
Currently serving with the MN guard and we got these puppies but also have the ECHU on em for quick movement of 20ft connexs. They are a blast to drive. Weird to here the term rare with the truck but then again not sure how many civilians own one lol.
WICKED COOL, KILLER TRUCK... I'D LOVE TO GET ONE PLENTY OF THINGS TO DO WITH IT HERE IN CREEL... HAWLING LOGS ,WATER SURVICE AND FIRE SERVICE... REAL AWSOM VEHICAL... THANX FOR THIS VIDEO... PEACE...
@@MidwestMilitaryEquipment Thanks, calling you guys now. Our fire department needs couple of new highly capable vehicles for rugged Colorado mountain terrain.
This video is great and all but this video doesent do it justice, if i made a video of mine, id go straight to the trails, he never showed the full 10x10 locking diffs going up almost a 30 degree incline like i did with my PLS, wonderful trucks and super tough! you also have to show that CTIS system in action too which you never did lol, i can stand with you and say that these babies are amazing, and they are almost non existant where i live, i have one of the few in the northeast of the US lol, oh i forgot to mention, i think i have like the first one in civilian hands in OD green too, but i have no clue about that one haha!
Do you know where I could find a parts list or service manual. I just got one which seemed to be a surplus truck, many of the parts do not match any of the M1075a1's that I can find. Mine is missing the entire PLS system, it has a v8 engine with the Allison HD4500 transmission, the interior compartment is a straight across bench seat instead on the 2 separate seats and a center console.
If I could ask, what would something like this go for with the hook lift removed go for? I’m planning on making an overland monster RV. Basically copying the few out there already that put a toy hauler on the back of it. I’m not sure if the cost of the extra axle and Cat motor will be in my budget. Do you know if they put the Cat in any of the 8x8’s ? The Detroit is a beast, but my ears already have tinnitus going on. 😂
@MidwestMilitary Equipment...nice video....clean windshield would have helped...as a number of commenters mentioned, it would have helped to have your cameraman/woman sit in the driver's seat and take a couple of shots of the gauges & switches, such as the inter-axle &/or diff-locks. Also, when you did your walk-around and referred to "...it now also has different brake-chambers...." (or words to that effect), it would have been more professional, if you had said "disc-brake air-chambers all around", as this is really helpful when you haul heavy loads with a heavy horse (mind you, disc-brakes on the horse should not be used with a pup, full or sem-trailer with drum-brakes). Oh, and since you're not actually in army-uniform when you drive these vehicles on public roads, how about wearing your seat-belt(s), using your turn-signals and preferably don't drive over someone's lawn when you're attempting to make a U-turn in one swell swoop, which - I could have told you ahead of time - would not work 🤣😂
How many axles are driven normally, I guess the 3, 4 and 5 and are there interaxle diffs? I'd like to see the buttons that lock the diffs, all at once or how they operate 5 axles
Sorry the Germany make better truck for the driver. USA truck are basic not comfortable for the driver. Something out the 50s. Sorry but in side just metal and not comfortable at all. Come on we are in 2022 the seat are sh£t.

So that’s where HeavyD got his one😂😂
DROVE one of these for years in the Army, I can not begin to tell you how bad I want one as a civilian 😢
This truck would make a great Overlander Motor home

what an awesome runabout to go grocery shopping!
This is an awesome machine! Great overivew btw..
In the Canadian army we have the Mercedes Actros 8x8 which pulls wheelies in low range, I'd imagine that beast would aswell, love the Cat power
This is my big dream!
Loving the videos on your trucks. Would love to see them off-roading.
Would you have to have a CDL to drive this on public roads?
I know this video is 2 years old but it would be cool to see a comparison between M1075A1 HEMTT and the equivalent MK48A1/18A1 LVA.

Awesome machine! Thanks for sharing. This would be great chassis for a custom tactical fire tender application. Do you think you can find another one?
Hard to say if we will get anymore! We actually just listed this for sale!

So much quieter than the Detroit diesel version

Sat in it and touched it. This is the machine!

I spent time in iraq driving the PLS in 2004/2005.

You're correct with the interaxle locks. You have full 10x10 and interaxle. Low range automatically engages 10x10
I'm legitimately in love lmao
Great stuff! Audio quality has room for improvement
how tall is it with a standard conex on it ?
Oshkosh hemtt m1075a1 to dubai and visiting Lanarafat's pal carajo without outfit🚛

Hey bud, hint hint, this is a military truck built to a specified military order. It's now been retired and this civilian company is selling it.
Germany builds trucks to sit in, the US builds trucks to fight in
Wow super beautiful🥰❤
