I think the main problem it has is that George Miller did not have anything to do with this game, and it is considered non-cannon by many for that reason

The creator didnt have any input Into the game as Warner cut him off from it and then they used basically a shit load of props and storyboards of mad Max from many different places and times. For example a lot of the cars modeled was from when the fury road cars were in Australia before being upgraded when it went to Africa. Also spoilers

What an interesting little game. You don't quite feel the feeling of emptiness until you complete the main story. The last thing I did after doing so was collect all the history relics. Also, in the dunes region, there's a house buried under the sand that you can access through a drop down into a tunnel where a buzzard dug his way into the house. He is laying dead on a bed on the second floor, and on the bottom floor in the kitchen there are refrigerator letter magnets saying "I miss my friends", most likely the work of a child. The presence of the buzzard corpse and the fact that he knew where the house was leads me to believe that he possibly was the father of the child before... Well, the everything happened, lol. Just a little something I'd like to share with everyone
Loved the house environ. The sunny wallpaper in the kid's room, the magnets on the fridge... I wondered what the backstory could be on this one. There's an adult corpse in the bath tub, most likely suicide. One of the parents? I like your idea that the dead Buzzard could be a family member.

Not much, if you wait for the storm and drive into the big nothing you won’t die, I drove for hours trying to find the pink eye vessel but didn’t find anything, on the northeast you find the convoy route from the last mission, on southeast you can find the main menu with the truck, near that I found an airplane buried but the storm came back and I died, also if anyone wanna try to get to the big nothing, if you try to go back to the playable area you will die from the storm, it sucks because there are things around the map that I can’t get close enough
In this game theres a piece of paper showing a picture of a part of the madmax movie when u pick it up max will say what is this and when u flip it over it describes what it was like filming mad max
One thing I noticed after playing this game countless times is that after you scout the base at the very beginning of the game if you look at the top of the rocks you just came from you can see Griffa standing there and then walking out of frame. A subtle detail but cool to find after all this time.

Plushman1YT if you're considering buying it, it is very repetitive. But, the farther into the game you get, the better your car is, the more fun the game gets. I would recommend it, personally.
it's a very good game not GREAT but pretty damn good you can tell that effort has been put in to it and I would advise getting and yes it does get reptitive the storyline is pretty good and lots of fun to do after

I got it for free but I think I wouldn’t have bought it if it costed more than $20, entertaining overall for that maxing the character as well as camps, cars and other shit, i have 3 days in game
You can also find the main menu in the big nothing, also the final boss fight with scrodum takes place in a custom generated environment in the big nothing
I'd add that there is also a Conan reference, when Max sits on the Deep Friar's throne of flames. Some may consider that a GOT shtick, but for me it is undeniably Conan (the original, of course), all the way. On the other note, the game does one really neat trick (which i didn't realize at first): you absolutely DON'T need to go full-on OCD and scavenge all the crap/scrap. Neither you have to learn the challenges and complete them to raise your legend status. Cause the best and the most massive sources of scrap are: storm, cleared ally camps and scrapulence vehicles (early on) in that order. You can drive around just for mayhem and sight-seeing. Legend status raises inevitably through main and optional objectives, to something like Road Warrior level 87 at the end of the game, if you clear the map's threats. Great game. Dark ending. Still, much better than Rage-2...
I think eating the lizard is also a fury road reference as the moment we see max in person after his narration he steps on kills and eats a lizard just before attempting to flee from the war boys
The "Shirley" part caught me off guard on my playthrough, I'm glad it's here, I could have sword Max said "don't call me Shirley", I guess it was Chum.
There's something I noticed that I found odd in this game. One of the wasteland missions titled "torches" or something. You had retrieve some kind of beacon for Deep Friah. After you defeat the enemies, there are two fire blasts covering a wall with red Xs on it as if there is something hidden there. And there is someone on the otherside of the wall with a chainsaw being roved up. But I can't break wall. I spent like about an hour and a half trying to get my car in there to see if I needed a certain tool to break the wall, but there are invisible barriers blocking the car from every angle imaginable. I eventually died from jumping off a cliff and went over to the nearest outpost south of it and got a thunderpoon. I ran all the way back to the camp and when I returned the red Xs on the wall were gone. No more chainsaw noise and the throne that was against the wall vanished. When I launched the thunderpoon at the wall where the red X was the explosion occured on the otherside of it. I'm betting there's an easter egg that you can only do in that mission. There's also multiple zipline points that cannot be reached above the area. I even tried using the freeze cam to glitch through wall but no holes or cracks sadly. Anyone know anything about this?
The big nothing is really well detailed, despite the fact nobody is ever supposed to see 95% of it. There’s some cool stuff out there, such as roaming war parties, and giant dried lake beds, miles across.

Yes he does to answer your question. Even when you beat the game, you get chumbucket to go around with you. The game just ignores that certain NPCs have things happen to them in the end of the game so you can keep running around collecting things and finishing anything you didn't up.

I see it more like a Tomb Raider reference, because the Demented Chariot belonged to someone else within the Mad Max universe. It is the only tomb in the game and the phrase "tomb of the rider" is too close to "tomb raider" to be a coincidence. There is nothing that ties the Nightrider to this vehicle, aside from the word "rider" and the fact that he was in a biker gang. They would've included some part of his "fuel injected su¡cide machine" speech.
@ it’s actually neither. I learned later it’s Dementus’ tomb and chariot. There’s a mural in the tomb illustrating his whole story. Nothing to do with the NightRider or Tomb Raider.
I don't know if anyone saw it before me, but I just discovered it, at the very beginning of the game after meeting chumbuket and he shows us where to take the interceptor and then we use the binoculars to see where is the sanctuary, after the cutscene if you look behind you towards the "mountain" (located just behind the small destroyed wreck near the buggy) at the top we can see that we were being observed.
This game is so odd, I remember somewhere at the top left in gutgashs territory there is a little gate guarded by roadkill i think. When i found it i searched for ten minutes how to open it, i couldnt so i left, but i remembered the gate. when i finally got to pink eye i went to check it out from that side and there was a valve there to open the little gate which could just fit my car in there. I remember thinking it may be a mission location but it was not (not even side mission or one of the random encounters).
I think the most subtle Easter egg is the game's location, which I believe is Sydney. The Great White is Botany Bay with all the lighthouses from Sydney Harbour; the broken terrain and canyons in Gutgash's territory is the area of the Georges River; the Dead Barrens would be the city north of the Georges. Even the airport is in the same basic location (although the architecture doesn't match).
There is an Easter egg in the description of the Interceptor: "a machine with a thousand lives" because after it was destroyed in The Road Warrior it appears in Thunderdome, Fury Road, and again in the game
Scott Pilgrym too much of the same things over and over. Becomes tiresome, hence why I didn’t want to 100% it, because it was becoming boring. Main quests etc are good, but post story you are left with the repetitive side-missions / fillers.
The story was short because it wasn't the main focus. Focusing on clearing up places filled with scrotus enemies, buzzards and more. Developing your car and you character was the main focus. The story just adds a little context. It's like classic video games. There's little to no stories but what you've been given is enough to make you intrigued through the whole game. The combat was superb. there're hints throughout the game of how all of this started. It's not just an empty game

How come no one mentions the AI referring to max as a raggedy man or the mad max buggy tour flyer.
They even have one from Sin City Lucille Marv Parole officer "He made me watch!" You can hear it when Max is fighting the last boss.

There is nothing that ties the Nightrider to this vehicle, aside from the word "rider" and the fact that he was in a biker gang. They would've included some part of his "fuel injected su¡cide machine" speech.
@ it’s actually neither. I learned later it’s Dementus’ tomb and chariot. There’s a mural in the tomb illustrating his whole story. Nothing to do with the NightRider or Tomb Raider.

I don't know if anyone saw it before me, but I just discovered it, at the very beginning of the game after meeting chumbuket and he shows us where to take the interceptor and then we use the binoculars to see where is the sanctuary, after the cutscene if you look behind you towards the "mountain"
(located just behind the small destroyed wreck near the buggy) at the top we can see that we were being observed.

This game is so odd, I remember somewhere at the top left in gutgashs territory there is a little gate guarded by roadkill i think. When i found it i searched for ten minutes how to open it, i couldnt so i left, but i remembered the gate. when i finally got to pink eye i went to check it out from that side and there was a valve there to open the little gate which could just fit my car in there. I remember thinking it may be a mission location but it was not (not even side mission or one of the random encounters).

I think the most subtle Easter egg is the game's location, which I believe is Sydney.
The Great White is Botany Bay with all the lighthouses from Sydney Harbour; the broken terrain and canyons in Gutgash's territory is the area of the Georges River; the Dead Barrens would be the city north of the Georges. Even the airport is in the same basic location (although the architecture doesn't match).

There was a good picture you can find that refers to Mad Max adventures, made pre-war. Max openly asks "what the fuck is going on here?"
There is an Easter egg in the description of the Interceptor: "a machine with a thousand lives" because after it was destroyed in The Road Warrior it appears in Thunderdome, Fury Road, and again in the game

The ending annoyed me but overall enjoyed the game. Too repetitive for me to 100% but still a solid game that's worth a purchase

Scott Pilgrym too much of the same things over and over. Becomes tiresome, hence why I didn’t want to 100% it, because it was becoming boring. Main quests etc are good, but post story you are left with the repetitive side-missions / fillers.

The story was short because it wasn't the main focus. Focusing on clearing up places filled with scrotus enemies, buzzards and more. Developing your car and you character was the main focus. The story just adds a little context. It's like classic video games. There's little to no stories but what you've been given is enough to make you intrigued through the whole game. The combat was superb. there're hints throughout the game of how all of this started. It's not just an empty game

There are so many dying light aspects like the bridge, and the zombies are like scrotus’s war boys..
The War rig is part of a quest and quite different to the one in the film. Hardly an Easter egg
