I agree, "If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present." -Lao Tzu
Just performed some mindful exercises such as morning cardio, reading an awesome book, a bit mediating, and then rest of my day now doing work that are considered productive for me. And... You just listed it as tip 1. Not only that's truly more motivating but very satisfying to see. To experience this journey I'm making towards my goals reminds of Lao Tzu's quote "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."
Just as a small tip, it would totally be worth you buying a pop shield, you can get them really cheap from the internet and get rid of the harsh, breathy sound when you make the P sound. But a great video, nonetheless :)
Fantastic video. I truly feel everybody needs meditation in their lives no matter what stage of life you are in. Keep up the great work OnePercentBetter and FreedomKingdom
+Mike Horlick Cheers Mike. Funnily enough I don't meditate all that much. I don't doubt the benefits but I've tried it for prolonged periods but don't feel I need it as far as relieveing stress and anxiety goes. I'm super laid back :P

I recommend trying mindfulness meditation for helping with stress and anxiety, it has certainly helped me. There is a lot of research backing it up. The studies show that mindfulness reduces stress, anxiety, depression, makes you more happy, present, and deal with everyday situations better. The prefrontal cortex and hippo-campus (focus and memory) become thicker and denser, the amygdala (which is associated with fear and anxiety) shrinks.
Finally, the Buddha relented: “I will teach you the Dhamma, Bahiya. Listen carefully to my words. Train your self in this manner: In what is seen, there is only the seen. In what is heard, there is only the heard. In what is sensed, there is only the sensed. In what is cognized, only the cognized.
I'm sure it's not that sucks. try to ignore the "state" you're at - whether there are bills you have to pay or any other duties, and try to focus on actually right now, in this exact moment you don't have any problems
+MrUrchu If it's a sucky moment that is inevitable, then you'll be running away from inevitable suckability for your whole life. In my experience, learning to embrace and 'be' with the suckiness is somewhat beneficial, as new-agey as that sounds.

Hai bro I want to know of a book on self control and resisting temptation ??
Hey mate - Based on my reading I'd look into Thinking Fast & Slow by Daniel Kahnemann and How to Be a Stoic by Massimo Pigluici
Turning the mind into an ally, by Sakyong Mipham.
"be in the moment"
Ye, but if the moment sucks ?
