There is a mistake. 17:43. The furniture in this room lookS very expensive. You have no S but furniture is an unccountable noun and it´s always singular.
Double negative is incorrect and that’s absolutely true. However, it’s worth mentioning that double negative is used informally in spoken English especially whilst using Ain’t. Ex „Ain’t no sunshine” or „We don’t need no education” 😃
Useful and comprehensive lesson for the advanced learners like us and how not to make these basic mistakes in the upcoming future. Great lesson Greg. You are remarkably an outstanding teacher. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Greece.
at least in this video I was able to identify the mistakes, so I guess i'm not one of the students who makes these mistakes. thanks Greg, greetings from down here, Montevideo Uruguay!
Thank you for the video. It`s really usefull. Here is the question as to a subject. two examples: 56 percent of people ARE towndwellers. 20 percent of air IS oxygen. Where is the subject in these two senteces? After of we have object. Latin per cent means of 100. So the subject should be Numeral but Numerals, as well as adjectives, used as atribute. So. Where is the subject?
Hi Greg, you say this at 4:49: "...that is what happens if the condition is true". Isn't this a conditional sentence too? If not, why? If yes, why do you use the present tense in both parts of it? Thanks, Gyorgy
Greetings from Ukraine 🇺🇦 Yeah, grammar is grammar. But when we start talking about real daily life… “The best is yet to come…” (c) Scorpions I think it’s quite positive in this example… By the way, thank you. Just looked up that phrase in a dictionary and found the fixed phrase “have yet TO”.
Imagine five different types of fruit, I ask you ‘which is a peach?, you take the peach and you say ‘this is a peach’ plural: what are those? They are taxis Btw; “this is taxi”doesn’t really exist.
Thank you for your work👍 great job👍 but could you please provide us with American English stuff, 'cause British is only spoken on the Islands, while American English is wide world (movies, shows, business)
No, Advanced students make these mistakes, even natives speak like that, it's ok. I've heard in American movie, nobody knows how to use Conditionals there.
Please, don't say "russian speakers"! Slavic speakers. Using the first variant you offend people in a lot of countries. And russian language is not the core language among these languages (if we can say so).
Yep, all Slaviс speakers except Bulgarian (and possibly Macedonian). Bulgarian, unlike other Slavic languages, has a definite article, although as a postfix attached to nouns.

"Double negatives are bad". Native speakers (Pink Floyd): "We don't need no education" 🙃
There is a mistake. 17:43. The furniture in this room lookS very expensive. You have no S but furniture is an unccountable noun and it´s always singular.
It's probably a typo because if you listen carefully Greg says
"...lookS very expensive"
9:02, mistake in the written part
I am at an intermediate level, but I know and I have never made mistakes like this.
Your explanation is very simple and understandable. Thank you.
Great teaching! If I still was a language facilitator, I would definitely present your videos in class! ❤
Greetings from Caracas - Venezuela. I enjoy watching and learning with your videos. I didn't know how to use "unless". Thanks.

When you're in a car, and there's playing music, you can definitely say "I like the music.
But sometimes, using a doudle negative can help you make a world hit.

Hi Greg! Why did you say " the subject and a verb are agree with each other"?
You can use word "yet" as the FIRST word.
Ex one king says "My people won't be prisoners!" and one mage replies "Yet prisoners they are, good king".
Different meaning
🎉❤
What is the difference between : ( this is a taxi) and ( this is taxi)... what is the benefit of (a)
Imagine five different types of fruit, I ask you ‘which is a peach?, you take the peach and you say ‘this is a peach’ plural: what are those? They are taxis

In God we trust.
I don’t make none mistakes! Seriously, I am good at grammar.
Pasa el secreto
You have two negatives in your sentence...and "none' can't go before nouns.
You shouldn't write the sentence the way you did it. It should be: I don't make any mistakes.
@@fabianabevis9890 yeah!
