You can tell Pike is a seasoned Starfleet Captain. He's honestly surprised when it seems like their plan is working on the first try, and then when the alert beeps start he's just like, "Yep, there it is." Man has been around the galactic block lol
@@liamloxley1222 well at the time uhura is still lack on romance departement maybe that why she dont know what to do on that situation also she still young on the time line on the show
@@liamloxley1222 Technically, Uhura has to wait for an order from a superior officer to cut the transmission. La'an can do it because she's Chief of Security and deemed it a security risk.
@@WestAirAviation Thats the main answer. Uhura doesn't have the authority to cut off a transmission between two captains regardless of whats happening.
ok now this is funny, they are having an "episode" like buffy the vampire slayer had with "once more with feeling". buffy had the "cult" with a night at galifrey one showing it and people doing a sing-along. wonder if this will get a sing-along "cult" to?
I'd totally be Ortegas here, having a real hard time hiding grins taking in the tea and badly pretending to be real interested in my computer when they notice...
Rewatched this episode again recently. I loved it the first time, loved it even more now, am looping the songs endlessly. But now I"m ALSO laughing at the very disgruntled, (but vastly outnumbered) minority who didn't enjoy it for whatever reason screaming "QUIT HAVING FUN!!!!" at everyone else. ...Calm down, guys. If you didn't like it, there's an off switch on the tv you can use literally any time. The rest of us are having a blast over here and can't wait for season 3!
I wasn't the fan of this ep, but it's not the actors. Maybe they needed catchier tunes? The songs seemed to just kind of fall flat. Not terrible, just...meh
to tackle the genre of a musical with those specific skills necessary (that aren't the same as FILM acting, or career professional musicians who are REGULARLY doing this in the fast paced world of TV production...) WOW DAYUM the cast delivered an outstanding performance of TERRIFIC original character driven musical monologues, belts, jazz, romance, laments, and complex production numbers. Anyone who has studied music, OR television, OR American Broadway musical form and structure would say that this episode was incredibly ambitious- and could have very easily gotten away from them. NOT with these power players! The CAST was FUN FUN FUN but the book, lyricist, arranger, orchestrations, and the skilled specialists who then helped the cast pre-record it, and perform with playback... this was solid.

Welp that’s the luck of Star fleet.
Wonders beyond comprehension but something goes wrong
La'an is a real one, saving her Captain in this scene.

she cut when he say "you mean more and more to me : kirk "
I love the part where Pike turns around and Ortegas and Uhura suddenly find their consoles very interesting.
After this incident, Pike gave La'an a promotion to Lieutenant commander for saving him and his relationship from further embarrassment.
😂
Damn, that bridge was is so huge, he got out four bars in the time it took La'An to get to Uhura's console 😂
That's what she said...
Love the look of horror on Pike's face when Batel starts singing, as he realizes that their problems just got much worse.
Before this scene Pike doesn't see that it is that much of a security risk. After this scene all he wants to do is blow it up
0:54 Love Ortegas in this. "Oh, THIS I gotta hear."
She was 100% there for the tea and... I kinda get it.
That was so touching especially when he turned back, it ended on the most interesting part awww
how can you not love this show
Melanie Scrofano was a revelation this season; from Wynonna Earp to the most famous sci fi franchise ever.
I was ecstatic when I saw her in the premiere.
Can you imagine Janeway having this same conversation with Mark?
Even better: Picard and Beverly. Hell, imagine the Enterprise-D getting caught up in this. How would that affect Worf?
Based off of the final act scene with the Klingons... Justin Timberlake?

You’re damn skippy it’s getting a cult following.
Oh Man !!! I love this !!!!! I know shows should put in some variety , but a MUSICAL STAR TREK ?!!! YESSS !!!!! Bring it ON !!!!!!!!

La'an being so done with her Captain confessions and shut it off quickly.
Like a Gilbert and Sullivan opera.
Das ist so unangenehm 😂
Music was going damn good. La'an ruinedit

The only person in the Galaxy to hold this opinion... Brave, man... Brave...
Okayyy... I haven't seen the episode yet. As Spock would say "Interesting." But don't do this again Paramount, this isn't Cop Rock.
To jest super
Paramount doesn't' need to do it again: It's perfect!
This was a really good episode, actually.
Youve got a problem with Cop Rock?!
