What amuses me most is Pike trying to leave and the door closes- almost as if the computer is like, nope you're staying here
It was his SAD fate.
Those liitle comedic moments with Pike that you'll miss because they're subtle and in the back ground are absolutely hilarious, and Anson Mount plays them perfectly! That scene with the door was awesome! I think I'd seen this episode 3 times before I caught it.

@@aldunlop4622 Spock ended up this way because Michael's bio-mom messed w/ the timeline & screwed Spock up when he was a kid (making him see things/accused of being insane). & he was originally supposed to enter the Vulcan Science Insititute before Starfleet but he followed Michael into Starfleet immediately. and now he's forced to pretend that his sister never existed even though she was a huge part of why he is the way he is now

Love Spock's facial expressions, even if Leonard Nimoy's Spock would never have done those, and he would never had exhibited emotional outbursts - even if Spock is more 'human' in this episode. Good originality 👏🏾❤

Not at his age, no. At this stage of the game, Spock is the equivalent of a human adolescent, even though he's in his mid-twenties. He still finding himself. Hence, why you see him experimenting with and occasionally experiencing human emotions, particularly in the pilot episode, " The Cage." It's only after his mind meld with V'ger during the events of the motion picture that Spock achieves the emotional balance that he requires and comes to terms with his human side.
