- I built a fence, now it's time to tie it all together with the backyard and plant some plants along it. I built a trellis for Grapes and a Passion Fruit vine to grow up onto. Also a few tree found their new home.

You can try using peat moss instead of wood chips for the plant beds. It helps prevents weeds and it nourishes the soil.

For sure. I’ve lived in Florida for a long time before moving back. The humidity can be brutal but besides sweat spots all over my outfit it kinda feels good too

I live in Florida so I know the humidity has been very bad the past week or so, not to mention the deer flys and the allergens. Knowing this, I have massive respect for you and your work ethic. It's one thing to hang out in your shop to build a cute epoxy charcuterie board, but what you're doing now is next level. Next, next level - especially under that brutal Florida sun. I grew up on Long Island and one of our favorite activities was picking a few strawberries from the BUSHES of the local farmers. Having said that, I've never heard of a strawberry TREE? In any case, whenever I feel lazy, I just come in and turn on one of your videos, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for following along my journey! Yes the humidity has been brutal but also kinda nice. My outfit is soaked within minutes of being outside 😜😂 but it also feel kinda good. I don’t mind the humidity too much, for the trade off of living close to the ocean in a tropical climate. That’s a plus.
The strawberry tree actually doesn’t have strawberries growing on it. It’s fruit that loooks similar to it, but taste different. I never actually tried the fruit so I can’t wait to form my own opinion about it
Plenty of water for the first month with the new plants and tip for digging in a straight line use a string line 👍🏻👍🏻

A little suggestion for the pocket hole jig. I mounted mine on a piece of 1x8 board and it makes it so much more sturdy.

Naw, Florida is not that bad 🤣 I’ve lived here for many many years and moved back. Never experienced a hurricane. 🌀 I missed the weather and people. I love the relaxed tropical living style
@WhatMeikeMakes that's interesting. I think I would have gone more Utah for the mountains or Arizona for the landscape and dryness. Better for old farts with arthritis. 😁

Let's get the formalities out of the way. Beautiful trellises! You have an amazing eye for design elements. For example, the decision to paint the ends black was spot on. OK enough of that...THE DRESS! Wow, just wow! I assume Meike that you got it for half price? Afterall, half of it is missing! (Observation...not a complaint 😉)

The bees are doing great! I still have to force myself to not look at them daily since that wouldn’t be too good to open the hive that often. I will make an update video once I harvest the honey 🍯

I’ve had my dewalt table saw for a long time now. I wish I could afford a large Saw Stop or similar but this saw is doing its job meanwhile.
It’s leightweight and can easily be moved

That will look very good if the plants are rising! I would prefer "Blauregen" (Wiseria). It is a dream when thay make a firework of blossoms for two or three weeks.

@@WhatMeikeMakes Meike, I didn`t have in mind that the Blauregen is a nice as it looks a strangler plant with much power. I would strangle and bow the Trellis over the years.

Yep, I’ve lived here before. The humidity is just a small trade off for living close to the beach in a tropical climate. I love that 😊
That is not a fence, it's a WALL! All you see is sky. I just bought 450 green giants for my neighbor issues, in five years I won't even hear them.
Well it’s for privacy. I have some tall houses that were built across the street. Don’t want too many eyes in my backyard and I don’t have 5 years. But once all the vines grow up and the trees fill in the rest, it should be beautiful 🪴

Did you plant a red or white mulberry? (The leaves of a red are rough on both sides and the white are rough on only one side.)
How are the bee colonies doing?
It’s a red mulberry tree. It’s pretty small tho so I’m sure it’s gonna be years until I get my first harvest. Can’t wait tho. Just dealing with some rust spots on the leaves. I hope the tree will make it.
My bees are doing excellent 👍 still a learning curve but I already dipped my fingers into a small piece of the honey and it’s delicious

It's a big mistake putting the wood chips down, I have had that stuff down before it will cause the wood post around it to rot faster and it will attract bugs like termites. just speaking from experience.

I’m outside all day every day, I use sun lotion but yea, on some days the sun is stronger ☀️
That white xxxs fence is a bit too large. Lets hope the weather stays like this for a while, at least till you build the pool or hot tub.
Never too tall 😉 it’s the perfect height to keep passerby’s from looking into my backyard. Anything lower and it wouldn’t have served its purpose. But therefore soon I will have vines and tees covering the fence

Not at all, but that’s all I have currently in my outdoor workshop. I usually keep the saw on a rolling table but that’s still in Nevada, and I’m in Florida. But it will do for now. 👍
