this is going to make me sound sick but…
drowning is actually one of the most peaceful deaths. it’s silent, and happens easily. once your lungs give from trying to hold your breath, you go unconscious from oxygen deprivation. then your body resumes it’s natural function of breathing, as you take in the water around you. it’s a dark but peaceful sleep and you have the arms of the waters to carry you gently to the reaper.
it’s stressful sometimes, yes- but once you give in, i believe it’s one of the more preferable ways to go for some. some people choose to drown as a way to end their lives, i think they were called “silent suicides” or something like that.
not to disrespect the lives left behind from this mass-murder at all. this is just the epitome of cruel and unjust punishment. plenty of those men had families, people that cared about them, and reformed lives ahead of them. this is just petty and inhumane :(

as a person that was trapped in Katrina with me and my family, my mom took me and my siblings to the super dome where hundreds of other families slept as well. but her and my dad quickly took us and fled from there because some of the escaped inmates were running around the city and uh... kidnapping and SA'ing women and children. so while I do feel bad for these inmates trapped, not all of them were innocent. some of them escaped and instead of trying to save themselves from drowning they decided to let intrusive thoughts take over. Katrina was a very chaotic time so there was no help from law enforcement or anything. those inmates took full advantage of the turmoil. it was especially bad if people got separated from each other. like if kids got washed downstream and ended up wandering around by themselves. it was not just the inmates either. we slept maybe a few nights in the super dome but at night when everyone would try to sleep men would wander around the stadium and snatch kids or attack women with literally hundreds of other people around. it would just be screaming for help the whole night so we gathered up what we had and our parents took us out of there quickly. my mom and stepdad kept me and my siblings literally at the hip. they gave no room for anybody to get near us and we made it out safe. God bless the victims. demons are everywhere

Ok, they may be bad people. But still! That is mass murder! They had lives, family’s, and some maybe even wanted to get out of jail and start a new life.

Cant remember name of book but a nurse worked at the hospital wrote it. It was the oldest hospital in NOLA. But many patients were left behind.

My mom works one of the highest security mental hospitals in the US, recently a fire came through that almost burned through the location; if that occured they were ordered to leave the inmates behind. The fatality is just too big and there isn't enough time to property evacuate a massive place like a prision. But it is horrible no matter who is left in there
