    lots of respect for aldo not choosing to cripple faber permanently, and giving him the honor of finishing the fight even though he could have put him in a wheel chair permanently with just a few more leg kicks.
    mercy is an invaluable personality trait.

    It's hard to believe this guy still fighting best guys in division.
    While GSP, Anderson Silva, Khabib and many others retired Aldo is still fighting new hungry contenders.
    Not to mention he never talked trash and always retained sportmanship to his oponents.

    Faber absorbed & fought through some of the most excruciating kicks in MMA history to the thigh for 5 rounds, I could only imagine the damage Aldo would have done if he directed them at the calf.
    It's likely Faber's leg would've literally given out & wouldn't of had the opportunity to "tough" it out. Regardless, Faber's one of the most resilient & stubborn fighters in MMA & more then deserves his place in the UFC Hall of Fame

    • @daviddaimary7734
      @daviddaimary7734 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@smesh4190 calf kicks are actually relatively easy to check. You can't really condition nerves and the one around the calf isn't well protected. Thai fighters stand square as compared to mma and they check calf kicks really easy. Funnily enough, Aldo has the best calf kick defense in all of MMA right now. Because MMA fighters tend to stand more bladed and stand lower as compared to other striking arts, you aren't naturally in a position to just turn your knee out to check them. Lifting also keeps you under the risk of being caught cause you can't move out of striking range and you don't have a good base to sprawl. Aldo just swivels both legs. Really cool.

    • @Kagemusha08
      @Kagemusha08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why more fighters are targeting the calf. While thigh kicks will compromise mobility really tough dudes like Faber will gut through the horrific pain. When done well calf kicks just short-circuite the nerve. Doesn't matter how tough you are if your nerves can't respond to your brain, you aren't standing up.

      age catches up to everyone eventually. Most fighters go from a prime jose aldo style with lots of kicks to a majority boxing style by the end as its just to much on the knees

    José Aldo, é muito humilde e além de vencer seu oponente, ele ainda o cumprimentou e também foi cumprimentar os treinadores do rapaz. E por isso, que com essa humildade ele chegou onde chegou.
    José Aldo, is very humble and in addition to beating his opponent, he still greeted him and also greeted the boy's coaches. And that's why with this humility he got where he is.

    I can tell this is a pro Aldo fight. This is an old fight, so I haven't seen a lot of either fighter. From the comments here Aldo is a pretty classy fighter as well as a badass.
