    A delibrate approach completing background work is always better than hurried announcements followed by background work.
    Several month after roll out of Agniveer NSQF is still to clear curriculum.

    To an ordinary mortal, it is most obvious that the armed forces of a country should be single unified force under one command. But, the British left us with this "separation of power" even in the armed forces. It is so difficult to give up the ingrained British traditions in the armed forces. Hide bound. Steeped in the traditions. Reluctant to change. Aren't all these the problems in the business entities too? In 1965, due to lack of co-ordination between the army and air force, India nearly lost the battle in the western sector.

    • @sshivash
      @sshivash ปีที่แล้ว

      I think nobody disagrees that better coordination between the air force, army, navy, etc., is critical and a unified command seems like the most logical solution. However, post independence, as the first prime minister, Nehru was the one who made the decision to keep the structure he inherited from the British with separate army, air force, and navy commands. This is because he feared a coup and therefore, by splitting the armed forces into 3 commands, a coup by just one of the commands was bound to fail and the probability of the leaders of all 3 commands agreeing, coordinating, and staging a coup together was very low. As we all know, these coups did happen several times in neighboring Pakistan so, this fear was quite justified.

    its surprising that Indian Military is giving up powers for the more important national cause. this is impossible in Pakistan. Pakistan Military will fight till death to protect their current organizational structures and will be very reluctant to give up asset holdings within the country. I wonder both Indian and Pakistan army are child armies of British but huge difference in their institutional attitude
