@Abhinav K Hi! I got the unit with those exact specs. My default CPU temps were pretty bad on demanding games at ultra. High 70s to low 80s on quiet and reaching the mid 90s on higher power profiles. After undervolting using throttlestop (-110 with turbo disabled on my gaming profile) I've been able to keep my temperatures at 69-72c getting around 110fps on Apex with the highest video settings. This extended battery life significantly too. GPU temps never had an issue for me. I'm really happy with it overall! Update: I can get 65-69c on performance profile on Lenovo Vantage
Actually the 4900HS. I say this because Razer cripples perfomance on the CPU for thermals and fan curve. The 4900hs is 35Watts default and if given enough thermal head room it can go all the way to 50 - 70 watts. But it doesn't have to be crippled by default since it behaves based on the thermal conditions.

If you don’t care about performance at all and just check emails then you could probably just get a MacBook Air or something, I don’t think they even have fans.

@@Hunselmann I know that my G14 is very quiet, although it seems that you don’t really need a gaming laptop, you need more of a general laptop. Gamingin768P well, what I’ve heard, usually it’s a staggered release. So the desktop RTX 3000 series will be released, around this month not sure though. Then the laptop version of the RTX 3000 series gets release around 1-3 months later. So RTX 3000 series laptop, around Mid-2021? ***Info may be incorrect, if it is don’t mid correcting me***
When it came out it didnt had the Boost mode for the CPU. So you only could hit 45W on the CPU which was even worse than now with its 55W mode. But at the same time you cant undervolt it anymore. Not even with Intel XTU. Im still happy with the device itself, but i had a problem with the touchpad (Made klicking noises) so i contacted the support. Support really sucked here in Germany and it took me over an month to get new device. Wouldnt buy a razer laptop anymore because of this, even though the products themselfes are good.
@@Seyphedias I checkt on that now, but i still cant undervolt it. Are you sure your blade is up to date? Use the Razer Blade updator v1.1.1.2 to check on that.
I have checked that right now, and I have the latest version (at least the updater won’t update anything). With XTU I can undervolt the CPU. But this undervolting is not permanent. I need to do that everytime I start my blade. It’s a bit annoying but it works.
Meanwhile the Omen 15 killing it with just a couple of heap pipes!! I feel Razer can easily lift the power limit (for CPU only loads) through an update, otherwise the gaming performance & thermals on Med+Med is really awesome
In general, after watching tons of your videos I figured out that almost all gaming laptop reach 90°C, no matter the price no matter the hardware. Now tell why r people losing their mind when Asus tuf A15 reached 90°c?
Because due to design decisions it looks as though Asus intentionally gimped the performance. How they could make such ridiculously bad design decisions can only be one of two things, stupidity or maliciousness and we have seen they know how to do it better in the Intel version....so.... yeah. Also the Ryzen cpu can operate much lower than Intel with the same cooling so there is no excuse.
Would you guys repaste a laptop (cpu + gpu) with Thermal Grizzly Kroyonaut or IC Diamond? How often would I need to repaste? What is the expected temparature decrease? Thanks in advance!
Interesting very low score on Puget Systems Photoshop. I have almost same laptop (Studio Edition) and my score is 808! May be 16GB of ram more is paying here, because during test allocation is up to 26GB.
If you can get it, please review the Alienware m17. The 17 inch one (15 inch is garbage and you’ve already reviewed it). The 17 inch version apparently hits 4.3-4.4 GHz all cores (which is the limit) and an R20 score of almost 4800 so it’s a good machine for testing the limits of core i9. Also comes with a MaxP 2080S and a 360 (!!!!) Hz screen

I'd like to get into content creation soon here and I don't understand why Razer would limit the CPU's performance when there's plenty of headroom for it to go higher. Has there been any news on whether or not they will allow it to go past 60 watts?

@@automata157 useless cards IMO. I have ordered a GTX 1660 ti. More than enough for me. And am gonna build a PC after some time
@@mr.niceguy2337 yeah but for pro use with RT cores and nvidia studio drivers it's a better choice. I'm not talking value for money but versatility
@@automata157 haha its fine. Thanx for the info anyways
Hey a personal question to you Jarrod-When do you think we will start seeing Nvidia Ampere GPUs in laptops? I'm eagerly waiting for em and I hope the 3060 will have 8GB Vram. We've been seeing the 60 series have 6GB VRAM for way too long!
(I guess they don't make laptops with 2060 SUPER)
I have the same Blade as Jarrod here and I can undervolt the CPU with XTU, so I don’t know why others can’t do it?
My razer laptop doesn't have the max q dynamic boost, huh
Razer Blade Advance 15 inch vs MSI GS66 , if same spec, what do u choose?
In general, after watching tons of your videos I figured out that almost all gaming laptop reach 90°C, no matter the price no matter the hardware. Now tell why r people losing their mind when Asus tuf A15 reached 90°c?
I don't know. Still ASUS gimped the cooling on the A15
Because due to design decisions it looks as though Asus intentionally gimped the performance. How they could make such ridiculously bad design decisions can only be one of two things, stupidity or maliciousness and we have seen they know how to do it better in the Intel version....so.... yeah.
Also the Ryzen cpu can operate much lower than Intel with the same cooling so there is no excuse.
My blade 15 games at 78deg c - see my latest videos
Would you guys repaste a laptop (cpu + gpu) with Thermal Grizzly Kroyonaut or IC Diamond?
How often would I need to repaste?
What is the expected temparature decrease?
Thanks in advance!
I'd only do it if I had thermal problems
Someone knows which accent Jarrod speaks?
Which is better Zephyr vs Blade?
Wt the best zephyrus duo or razer blade 15 advanced?
U mean the Duo 15?
What was that game he was playing in the beginning
Control. It's available on pretty much any platform.
@@JarrodsTech thanks daddy
my razer 15 advanced get's super hot even tough i'm just watching an youtube video.
really drives me nuts :(
I can have the fans set to highest speed but still i get super hot computer and unreasonable noise coming out of my computer :(
This laptop is awesome but do not use it for gaming as a laptop, more of a dock with an external monitor or it’ll burn your hands!! Powerful enough to run latest games on 4K but loud as hell and this metal gets really hot!
Triton 500 2020?
Your the best Jarrod!

Is Nitro7 good for gaming?
When it comes to gaming laptops..I prefer reasonably thick and heavy one...
msi gs66 ?
@@manogyasingh6887 yea.. like the msi gs66
Weight and cost?
Mines on idle won’t even make a sound. The fans won’t even turn on. 🤨 adv 2020 oled 2080s.
Alienware m15 r3 please 😅
This thing sucks. I’ve got one and regret the purchase. Looking forward to going back to Alienware.
i've had mine since 2021, haven't even cleaned it once but it's still going hard for me. The thing gets very hot even when i first purchased it.
@@Dimez757 it runs ok, but my CPU has thermal throttled from new and you could cook an egg on it when it’s running hard. Even when in Optimus mode and just surfing the web the fans are running nice and loud.
@@briank3754 I don’t have that problem, that’s weird, honestly mine doesn’t even get loud when playing games even over 100 fps 1080p, but the thing gets hot enough to scold my fingers, which worries me.
@Jarrod's Tech I have a razer blade 15 Advanced (Mid - 2019 ) model since 1.5 years and the thermals are really hitting the 95-98C, although I am in a warmer climate ( Ambient Temperature - 32-35C), still it feels concerning when the CPU temp goes to 100C. Under volt didnt help much, and I have been going through your reviews many many times to find answers but I find none...is it normal, should I disable turbo boost? some say turbo boost actually helps to keep the temps low...what do you think?
I'm worried about the same thing! Have you found an answer? How is your laptop doing?
Raser is sooooo expensive but slower than TuF? ( the cheapest gaming laptop in Asus) surprised!
Razer should've waited and gotten and AMD mobile CPU or 11th Gen Intel CPU. That would've helped to bring the overall heat down
Helios 300 is cheapest among all laptops and still give better performance with good display
I'm so close on pulling the trigger on the Razer Blade 15 Advance edition but the low wattage on the CPU worries me. I'd like to get into content creation soon here and I don't understand why Razer would limit the CPU's performance when there's plenty of headroom for it to go higher. Has there been any news on whether or not they will allow it to go past 60 watts?
I just got the same model but the gpu is not working🤦🏻♂️ guess I’ll have to send it back
My IdeaPad 5 15are05 with 4800u gets 4000points in cinebench. Thats really weak from razer
No need to look for a laptop that stays cool during heavy load especially with 10th gen and Def not with that thickness so the thermal tests are kinda irrelevant to me at this time, waiting to see what the 11th gen would do
