As a Chinese citizen who was born and raised in China and also lived in the States for 8 years, now living back in China, I can best sum up the situation as this:
the under 18 gaming ban is basically like having to be 21 to drink in the US, technically illegal, but kids still do it
US kids use fake IDs when needed, Chinese kids just use their parent's or other adults' ID numbers for verifications while gaming
in one word, not really a big deal. and league will not die in China. Tencent and the government are tight

    • @davidfu8174

This is a word created by Chinese to describe group of people who post false information online especially about China and Chinese company. Because the main media trend in China was to praise western countries, yes you don't see "CCP" post fake new about western countries like I see fake news about China in the US everyday. what a surprise. I'm talking about celebrities in TV shows can publicly dis china and it's allowed. "wow what?" " aren't chinese people living in fear and tyranny right now?" "what?" And there are automated reply system in China specifically target keyword about China. Due to the nature of Chinese language, a sentence can be understood in a completely different way if you are not a human being. So we have ppl tried to post a sentence like "I like this toothbrush it's so good and use so little toothpaste" with keyword 5g and huawei in it. and people would reply things about how bad huawei and 5g is. Now ofc this is just some background. it's funny because for western ppl who believe 50 cents is a word used to attack people who speak facts. they actually have to be so fking retarded to think that chinese ppl made a word in their own language to attack people who speak for the country and government.

It won’t kill the game, but it gives me hope that maybe they’re gonna stop making the game so damage-loaded. Since they did admit that was because of the Chinese market. Can I play the old LoL now?

    • @jajordan2106

I expect that they will increase the damage speed up game time to compensate.

They'll turn League season 13 into a team deathmatch with TTK faster than light. League is now just a dopamine gambling machine.

Yo is the last part actually true?
I've been a huge fan of your content since a while now, and it makes sense you've done a video like this one. I've heard about China wanting to ban/restrict Gaming for children a few months ago and was wondering what will change in the chinese competetive league scene. If you say in the end League of Legends cannot die in China, and I suppose children will just play it anyway similar to children drinking alcohol in other countries despite it being illegal. But what is with young talents? Once a chinese teenager joins a competetive team, it cannot be hidden from anyone nor the chinese government that there are many teenage professional gamers, so will this scene not die aswell and china will allow it?
    Great Video, keep it up

China actually does this for most competitive things, especially sports. They train their Olympics members from childhood.

once they remember childhood gaming prodigies make them even more money, they’ll allow it once again.

As a gamer I love video games but also realize they can be highly addictive and harmful long term especially to youth. Ppl have litterally died from extended gaming sessions so just like any other addictive thing I don't mind it being regulated. But it can also be a legitimate career so there needs to be exceptions. Maybe if the kids enroll in an esports program and keep their grades and health up they should be allowed to play as much as they want.
