- An interview with Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation) on a local news station in Los Angeles.
NOTE: This is my 2nd attempt to upload. TH-cam keeps cutting off my videos at 4:43, so I am trying different encoding formats.
The clip at the beginning is from 7th season's "Dark Page". The interview itself was aired on November 8, 1993, and took place during the filming of "Homeward" from later in the 7th season. This is, in my opinion, the most beautiful and radiant I have seen Marina looking in ANY interview.
This was originally on a VHS tape recorded at the 6-hour speed, so the quality isn't THAT great, but it's OK.
I loved Patrick Stewart's screw-up of the guest character's name. :)
The interview was done by a no-longer-existing station in Los Angeles called KCOP, Channel 13. We in San Diego were fortunate enough to be able to get Channel 13 if we had the right cable provider. This station aired the new TNG episodes at 9:00 PM on Monday nights, and then had news at 10:00. They often did short segments on Star Trek. This was before the existence of UPN. When UPN was formed, a local Channel 13 in San Diego was created and it was the UPN affiliate.
Time permitting, I will try to post the other interviews mentioned at the end of this clip, at least those that I have. I don't have the one with Nana Visitor, but I do have Terry Farrell and Gates McFadden.

She's amazing. Nice to see how the actors held the fans in such high regard, unlike today.
I love her convention talks. She is very personable and her stories are hilarious.
Marina is an amazing woman. I didn't realize just HOW close this cast was until I saw Marina talk about how crushed she was after they shot the last episode. Yes they moved right on to shooting the film Generations, but the day to day job of working her friends and having a blast every day (even with those LONG days) was over. She just cried and cried walking around the sets. So sad. That time of their lives was over. Films are great, but it's just different than shooting 26 episodes a season on the Paramount lot. And she is so funny, so honest and so real. Like a Joan Rivers type really. Lover her so much. All the characters are great, but she's truly one of the best in the cast. She grew so much after season 1.

I wouldn't have guessed Greek, but definitely near that region of the world. I also think some people get liberal with the word "Greek".

This is the woman who made me turn into a Trekkie. I only watched TNG because I was drawn to her beauty....but now I am hooked on Voyager and Deep Space 9 because the storytelling is excellent.
The same goes for me. At the age of 7 she was my first children crush and because of her all my girlfriends were brunettes, not to mention my wife.
She's BEAUTIFUL. 💖

@@purefoldnz3070 she's like 65 or something. it happens. she was gorgeous in her day. check out the lady who played dr pulaski. she was on the original series in the lady 60's for a couple episodes. she was hot.
What I like best about her is, when I wrote to you, I didn’t think she would answered, but much to my surprise she sent me a signed photo!

I'm 50 this year, and this is my "TOS", ofc I love the "real" TOS" but the Star-trek TNG was what I watched and loved when I was "younger"...

Wow, no idea Sirtis was British, no idea her weird accent on the show wasn't her own, and she's waaayy more beautiful than her character Troi.
As she said in this clip.... She's Greek. She has a Cockney accent when she's away from fans. They made her get rid of all accent because she said they didn't want any more English accents , except Piccards . She told us that at a get-together about 25 years ago.

I think her real ccent is wonderful.
I can't bear her accent. It's the worst mixture of mangled vowels, from cockney England and Hollywood. She's a nice lady, but her voice is like nails on a chalk board to me.

HAHAHAHAHA those shoulder pads from the news anchor... my god. The early 90's were too rad. She truly was gorgeous, and that goth style outfit really suits her well.

thats why they call it acting... she wore a hair piece and black contact lenses for the trek.
She's only about 30 years older here, than she was during the series. We age, some more than others

This interview with her in that see-thru blouse, the choker & the straightened brown hair, that all just makes her a looker here, especially the hair. Not only that, but she still had her youth, in 1993. Looks like she has some Star Trek pinball machine in the background there at her home.

@@Mintylight Exactly. Any young and successful actor has been vetted by the producers for how "agreeable" they are and how well they present the brand. As soon as one gets uppity they stop receiving offers.

Marina got more and more beautiful as TNG went on, she had relationships with Riker, and Worf if memory serves me right, also marina stayed beautiful as she got older. Definately a greek godess, and the part of the half Batezoid ships councellor deanna troi was spot on for marina.

@Hawthorne-Studios I'm pretty sure she had a time with worf, as I remember riker getting jealous, I may be wrong but I'm sure in TNG she had a relationship with worf, maybe not for long though, 👍

She was nervous. Very nervous. Throughout the early episodes you can see her twiddling with her fingers whenever she's doing a scene and not knowing what to do with her arms, throwing them around throughout.

She proved in the episode 'Night Terrors' how gorgeous she was sans makeup, and what a brilliant actress she was in the episode 'Genesis'.
Honestly, she started to look so much hotter in her 40s when she finally straightened her hair and changed her style a bit. Seeing her when she was in 30 in Death Wish, she was nothing special at the time. But boy did she get better with age.
She did age like fine wine.
A lot of that likely had to do with more money, more makeup, better diet and exercise
