- A retrospective look at a few of the things that made the headlines in Strabane, Co Tyrone, for all the wrong reasons. The period covered is from 1979. The music is by Paul Brady, Strabane's most famous singer/songwriter.
It's fascinating to look back at these old memories of Strabane.
Me mam was born and grew up in Strabane.......like many came over to Engalnd in late teens, Loved the holidays there when I was young kid (3-7) - mid 70's - spoilt rotten !! Not been there for 28 years - Can't wait to see the 'curly hill' and the park at the back and of course a million and one relatives !!
Grew up in Lifford, late 70s-80s, even with all the trouble then Strabane was a lively busy shopping town, seen it a couple of years back, totally different, feels dead, empty no life, shame.
I have said that so manytimes
That picture on 30sec is off Castlederg.
Is that the fir trees. Is that when they where serving British soldiers food out the back doors?
