This truck certainly deserves a full restoration including brakes and a very good carb. The inner tube trick was very shrewd and worked! Thanks to all who got this vehicle out of the hole, running after years of dormancy, and all cleaned up. In fact there may be some people who press metal floor pans for vehicles as a business. My Dad's company truck was showing the pavement by his feet so he had a guy down the street weld a pan to get him by. Not factory but very good.

What you've got all over your amazing that it's alive truck are called Lichens (pronounced "LIKENS") for any viewers that have not had the pleasure of getting these very tough plants stuck on to a vehicle, or anything else that grows on it for 20+ years! I HAVE had the pleasure, and these (I forgot what the basic type of Lichen group they belong to is called) I just call pains in buttox. You folks are brave, and I applaud you! Thumbs UP!

Richard, you brought that lovely truck back to life. I enjoyed ever minute of your videos. Saved this Ford from a early death. Christina when is Richard going to get you one of those shops truck jacket so you wont get all dirty from working so hard. All you need is it the name of your channel WHAT THE RUST embroiled on the back of the jacket. Richard you need the same. Your views will go up. If I did not purchase a 1963 VW and fixed it up and had someone painted it that was not good I would have found a truck like that since there so much enjoyment to work on. Not complicated as todays cars. I see when things go wrong you always have a positive attitude. Thankful you care for your work even thou its difficult at times you push through and never give up from a car that could be going to a crusher. You are blessed to have Christina with you and enjoying the work as much as you are. God Bless the two of you. I only wish I could go one day with you but at 63 and not driving it would be hard. I am not that far away from you a state away.

I had the identical truck, except it was a 65 Camper Special. 352, 4 speed, bought it from the original owner. He had parked it for 20+years...I filed the points, lubed the cylinders, put a battery in it, and it fired right up! I drove it for many years, and sold it last year. Brings back memories! On paint like that, it really doesn't matter how you do it. next time, spray it with bleach and water and let it dry. then do it again and let it dry. do it a 3rd. time and then, while wet, start pressure washing. the green will start disappearing and the black will come off easier. The powered up paint will also come off but if you use the buffer when done pressure washing and a good cleaner wax you may even get some shine outa what's left. Great video as always.

The best time to power wash anything is after a long rain storm or a long hossing down and let water soften grime/mold/crap. I usually sdoak. Got to another pronect for sbout hour. Then if needed i put lawn sprinkler on vehicle. Guaranteed works after second hour. With no scrubbing

A can of comet or Ajax would help clean it. Never mind the paint. It will act like compound.

What a great tow rig this truck would make. You both did great work on the truck. It looks way better. Could really make a good ride out of it with a few bucks and some time. Awesome job taking a truck from a grave yard to something workable.

Just when I think ya cant bring home or work on something worse than the last one Darned if you go for it. I tell ya In 60 years of messing with these old ones I have NEVER seen a brake drum rusted completely through That first one came close to kicking your back side but I was impressed you kept at it and got it outa that mud pit on its own power. Keep it up Rick and Christina
