Hey! Got any tips or old vids on making photography into a career? I love it and would love to make it my career but am not sure how to make that transition.
The book "the first 20 hours" talks a little bit about this topic and how it takes 10,000 hours to become a "master" of that thing but to learn a new skill and be able to use that skill it only takes 20 hours. I think its interesting because as a lifelong photographer, I have no idea how many hours I've spent with my camera... but there are so many types of photography that I feel like the 20 hour rule really helps when trying new types of things out like product photography/ studio photography/ landscape... and so on. Awesome video and always love watching your vlogs. ordered a t shirt and now I want a hoodie even tho i wont be able to wear it here in TX for like a whole nother year.
3:25 "We all have a lot of room to get better at what we're doing, even if we feel like we don't" That line hit deep because often times as creators, we feel like we have reached out limit. Everyone else is just so much better in so many ways. But its important to remember that our own ceiling is still so much higher and we just gotta keep hustling to reach break though one level at a time. Congrats on the new merch! Such an inspirational vlog.
You are so right with this video! The 10.000h is the way or path it's important to keep going and master the craft. I'll try to apply this for my creative work and upload more videos to youtube and collect the 10.000h! Thank you for the motivation!
Usually after reaching a milestone, in the TH-cam landscape at least, "what's next" is usually a new camera body or shiny new lens. People don't come to TH-cam for 10000 hours and rational thinking. They come for hyperbole and a countable\manageable number of "steps" that will lead to resounding success. TH-cam could really use more sober, realistic messaging like this. Well done.
That hoody does look fire! I totally agree with the invisible work. Watching every project and comparing it to the last shows the progress I've made. And I love that sense of progress just as I love creating.

This is great bud. I would say there’s a world of difference between proficiency and mastery though. Proficiency comes at a much earlier point in time than mastery. Just semantics though I guess 😂. Keep smashing it 💪🏼
