Continuous epic content. Have a project in mind. Travel Western NC and Tennessee for work. Take pictures along the way. Little books for each area code. 901 in Memphis is an example. Still a lot to learn and most appreciative for your channel. The way you got so excited about the classic cars. That kind of genuine excitement is contagious. Thank you Evan.
Longtime follower, I'm in the UK and I just launched my first photobook on Japan so this put my mind at ease that my process wasn't far off what you've suggested here. Hopefully my launch plan works and gets the sales I want for the book to be a success.

Couldn't have been a better time for this video! The first limited print run of my own book is actually scheduled to arrive in a few hours and I've started planning how to get started on my second one. Great tips in here and I'd shout out Mixam for printing. You can print 1-infinity copies, and the profit margins, and printing options, were a lot better for me personally vs when I checked out Blurb. Plus, their customer service was nothing short of stellar. Thanks for this video, these tips, and the inspiration!

When I changed my camera to one that I really love (Lumix G9) I observed that my photos were more attractive(to me at least :-P ) , maybe I gained the attribute to photo more because I wanted to use more and more the new camera.

Evan! Love your videos brotha! Had a quick question on your book you released last year. What crop for that size of book did you use for your pictures? Thinking of getting into a blurb photo book, but most of my pics are cropped 5x4 and 4x5 and wondering if that size would work for the smaller book size

I don’t sell often but I think most people say stay away from stuff like eBay if you can because they take such a large percentage in fees!

The film looking ones of the mustang was a heavy green spilt tone and I added grain!
You have some strange ideas about what film looks like. Evan's editing is still looking pretty awesome, though.
@@TheBigNegative-PhotoChannel Strange how? It has that subtle, warm tones. He even said he added grain so there's that...obviously it isn't a perfect match but it's far off from a regular digital edit.
@@sezoism I take the mustang pictures at the beginning with the green-red split toning as an example. If your film looks like this in daylight then you have definitely done something wrong. Such green tones in the lights you get with Cinestill 800T(kodak vision 3) in neon tubes. Evan's treatment is not subtle but it hits the emotions he wants to create with his pictures pretty good. 😄

This is pretty interesting. Not that I will ever sell a photobook, but it shows the reality of marketing - you have 186k subscribers right now, and you only sold 500 books. That's ~0.3% of people.
I know of a local photographer who made his own small photobook... I think he sold about 2-3 copies so far.
Something to keep in mind also though is the promotion style. I probably could have sold more if I was more aggressive with the promotion but I don’t want constant promotion to effect my channels quality 👍
@@RanftEvan Based on that I think selling 500 is pretty damn impressive considering the amount of parasitic subscribers is prob pretty high including myself. Thanks for the content man....Ill buy your next book.

Just curious why not use a print on demand service so you don’t have to buy bulk and sell?
That’s an option but you lose the “realness” of it. Every book is hand signed, and I can include stickers or notes if I want. I had a mom in another country email me and ask to personalize the signature for her son because the book was a Christmas gift.. it’s easy to drop ship but takes all that cool stuff away!

About 2 months ago I attempted to crowdfund a book of my work. Unfortunately the project failed. I got about $1500, but that wasn't enough to fund the book.
When I released mine the first run was a pre-order, and then I used all that money to order more. That could be an option possibly, but depends on your situation. Thanks for watching!
