That was an excellent knock down. Y’all went in the front door instead of standing in the yard. Amazing how quick a fire will go out when you put the water at the seat. First class work!

    • @JB91710

If that was your property burning, you would want the nozzleman standing there waiting for an additional minute before they had water flowing?

Wasting no time, water was a little weak but good to go when it was needed. Holy turn out for volunteers. My station was station 40. North end. That was 25-30 years ago. Miss you Russ. And Chief Benner.

Are you watching the same video I’m watching piss poor water pressure they yard breathed for 5 minutes before they got enough pressure to go inside. The chief has no confidence in his men so he has to take the nozzle. Typical vollie fire

    • @johnwashburn7423

@@peterb464 i watched your favorite...a paid department, you know, union, charge a supply line BEFORE the fitting had been removed from the bed. Bye, bye cabinet shop. No second chances. Then another PAID department the engineer did not attach the supply line properly. When the hydrant man opened it up the hydrant the line blew off the intake at the engine. Oh, saw a cool video the other day, PAID staff standing near a door with smoke...no PPE. Paid departments just cost much more. I live in a volunteer district and I am fine with that.

I saw a bunch of guys standing on a line with piss poor water pressure asking for more pressure when you can already hear that engine screaming. They never checked for kinks which was the issue because you could tell as soon as the move the line they increased pressure and got fire knocked.

@@shawnbarrett5335 You’re spot on and it’s to be expected when you pull 200’ of preconnect and leave the bulk of it in a spaghetti pile rather than flaking it out. There were plenty of guys that should have done it vs standing around waiting to go charging in. It’s the same crap every fire.

Poor pump operation, the hose crew was ready in great time then had to wait for water then waited longer to get proper pressure! Its the pump operators job to get proper water to the hose crew as soon as possible! He didn’t do that ! What would happen if they needed it for rescue, or exposure protection? Todays pump operators try to do to much other things instead of the primary job , get water to the hose crew , after you accomplish that then you can do other things ! From a 35 yr ff veteran.

2:00 This is Not what I call, "Arriving Fully Dressed! This is what you see at 95% of fires.
2:30 This Is what I call being fully dressed. You will hardly ever see firefighters ready to go when their boots hit the ground. This is also where tank water should have been flowing.
3:30 Here comes the water, sort of, One Minute Late. Now imagine you are trapped inside that structure, and you had to wait that much longer for them to turn off the heat and toxic smoke machine. Think about how the fire could have spread and the additional property damage in one minute of uninterrupted combustion and extension.
3:40 The Engineer needs to be re-trained or replaced. If they were waiting for a hydrant hookup, the Chief and officers need to be replaced.
3:50 Do you see how quickly and with the small amount of water it takes to extinguish a fire? That would have taken around 20-40 gallons out of a 1000-gallon tank!!! And that's being generous!
