@@nawangpalden Yeah only the first game, so if you were thinking of playing the remake you're gonna be stuck for a year or two waiting to fully finish the series.

@@jackjohnson8305 I played the original game a couple of years ago and plan on continuing the series eventually. To be honest, it didn't really impress me, and I kind of forgot everything that happened in that game, lol. But I hear the later games only get better and better. I wonder if I should replay the OG, wait for the remake, or just dive into SC as is?

I feel 90% certain that 2nd and 3rd will follow. I hope they even continue and do Crossbell as well, but I'm MUCH less certain that they actually will.
I think for sure 2nd will happen idk if past that will just because those 2 feel complete together. Now 3rd is perhaps my favorite game in the series so I would love it getting the same treatment but I could understand it not.
They have to be planning to 2nd as well. I'm 100% confident in that. It wouldn't make any sense to only do the first one. I'm hoping for 3rd as well but I'm less certain about it.
I wish they would make the different arcs into like collections that would be badass
SC heavily reused assets and locations form the first game, so a lot of the work toward SC is already done. If they're sticking very close to the original script too, then that part would already be done too. They're probably waiting to see how the remake sells, though.

Yeah ya'll forget Trails in the Sky trilogy and Crossbell games are 2D sprites on a 3D field so Liberl was always 3D.

I just realised, this is Falcom’s FIRST simultaneous worldwide release 🤯.
Maybe the Kai Late 2025 dream is actually possible and the Final Saga will all release simultaneously too
Plus I can’t WAIT to experience full English Voice Acting for the Sky story arc with this remake.
I doubt it. Since it's a remake, most of the original script/translation will remain the same from the psp/pc release which makes localization much easier

Even if it is very similar to the original, I don't think they can just copy and paste XSEED's original translation
And who knows how many script changes Falcom made?
Maybe one of my biggest fears will come true and Falcom will stuff this game with EVEN MORE fluff than the original.

of course they will. I think many people will get into trails because of this and most people that enjoyed trails in the sky will play this if its good. sc is not a question but the question is up until when do they stop. third? azure? maybe even cold steel and cold steel II remake?
CS games don't need remakes but the sky trilogy definitely did. Same with the crossbell games they need remakes as well, it's why i held off on playing the ported versions of them because i was hoping for a true remake like what they did with sky fc.
So glad i waited this long to replay sky fc again in HD!
@@azuredream9032 the first 5 games's graphics are way better than cold steel. sure the graphics are "dated" but they are very solid. cold steel (the first two) looks quite bad

@@AAhmou while not necessary, I was impressed with the graphical leap from cold steel 1&2 to cold steel 3. It might be worth slowly remaking all the sky crossbell games. I want a ys 1&2 remake

Nah he's good, its only a remake of the first game meaning the trilogy won't be finished till 2027-2028.
It looks like they actually managed to capture the original visuals in 3D. Thats realy impressive. Cant wait for schera, olivert and kloe 3d play and to walk through 3D Ruan
Well the world itself in the Sky games was still 3D, it was just using 2D sprites. So the actual work involved probably wasn't as arduous as you might believe. But it does look like an almost one to one shift.
@@TheKisekiNut I mean, yeah it was kind of 3D but didnt realy felt like it, because of the birds eye view and everything looking kinda compressed. So i expect it to feel very different, but with the same vipe. And im curious if they finaly will have baths in Liberl :D

It will happen but ofc they aren't that big of a company so the best confirmation of Sc and 3rd remake is how successful would FC would be. Since FC is coming in 2025 I bet that is also be the release year of Switch 2.0

I am so proud of how far Falcom has come in the past 3-4 years (especially in 2024), we went from missing half of the series (Crossbell who?) to now having damn near the whole series localized, practically yearly releases in the west AND east, and now a remake! Me 5 years ago would have thought this was BS, I'm so happy right now!

Looks good, I hope the arts system hasn't changed, I loved being a lot of time in the quartz menu trying to find a way to acommodate my quartz to get the art I wanted. I was dombfounded when I put my hands on cold steel 1 and saw the arts system was simplified
I wonder if they will get the original voice actors? It would be awesome if they did.
They'll probably try to get as many actors from Cold Steel IV, and Reverie as they can. Most of the cast came back for those games, so I think our chances of getting the same result for the remake are fairly high.
I hope they don't change the script so that the evo voices can be reused, or at least patched in. There is no way they can match the same quantity if they redo it.
I was waiting for this! I've been wanting to get into the Trails series for about a year now, but I've been really adamant about starting with the Sky Trilogy. So happy I'll finally have my entry point to the series!😁

Hey, a proud Trails player here. I started playing in 2020, and returning after a 3-year hiatus. And this was certainly a pleasant surprise to me. Every Trails game (Liberl Arc, Crossbell, Cold Steel or Daybreak) is like a book to me, no matter how much time it passes without opening them, I can rest assured that the day I open it again, it will receive me with open arms.
Guess I better play the original before the remake comes out. It's sitting in my library for when I finish Cold Steel 1 & 2 lol

I’ve been today at the premises of Falcom studio in Tachikawa. Wanted to see where it is located and maybe have a small talk with someone. But at the floor there was a sign in the corridor for strangers to not enter, I decided to not bother them. Have waited for several minutes for occasional employee to show up but they didn’t. Feeling fine about it, I left for nearest Kotobukiya store to find some Falcom-related goods. I had a plan to thank them and ask to make another game with female protagonist. Now, what a surprise !!!😅
Actually Falcom offices are spread on 2 floors. There is one part on 3rd floor with a sign saying "employees only", but if you go up to 4th floor there is a big lobby where you can go (at least it was the case 2 years ago when I went there). This is still definitely not made for tourists, but when I went there I could talk with an employee, even though she didn't know wtf I was doing there and i myself struggled to explain with my broken Japanese. It was a nice memory, but I think I was more of a bother than anything else

If you don't mind waiting nearly a decade then sure. Alternatively, the PC versions exist right now and can be had for less than $20.

I just played Trails in the Sky FC for the first time a few months ago. It might be my favorite JRPG. I liked it as much as I liked FF VII, but for very different reasons. Very much looking forward to this remake. I don't want to buy it on Switch though. lol Give me the PC release!

Considering I just started playing the series last year and am really close to finishing Sky the 3rd the timing couldn't be more perfect lol
Bro, I am tearing up in the middle of work. Finally this is happening, Last played this sky 1st chapter on PSP many many years ago. I am currently at post game of Reverie, using Joshua as the main lead for the post game. Many people who did not play the Sky series just do not have the connection to Joshua and the Liberl group. I know I know everyone will say Estelle is the Main Character, but to me, Joshua had always been the main character of the sky series for me. The ending of sky chapter 1 is the start that had me hook on the wild ride of every single Trails games and all the future trails game to come.
I knew I’ve been holding out playing sky 2 and 3 for a reason. I played the first and loved it but after years of no second, I forgot about it until cold steel came out. Now I may actually get to play the whole series from the start. Awesome.

First on my list is Suikoden I&II Remaster, hoping to finish Eiyuden Chronicles before then… If not, Konami will just have to wait longer.

IT FEELS SO GOOD BEING A TRAILS FAN LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!!! I started my trails grind last year JUST about to finish Azure today. Then im on to cold steel and to hopefully catchup before daybreak 2 in 2025! The Cross bell gang (so far) is my favorite team and im hopeful becasue Id also love to see Sky 3 and Crossbell duology remastered!

If Sky the 1st is a launch title for the Switch 2… we could see a new western Trails renaissance with so much renewed interest!
For example: Xenoblade 2 sold so great and got me into the series because it was basically the only BIG RPG on the Switch in its first year on the market.
What I’m really trying to say is, with enough interest, Estelle could be in Smash and my life is complete.
She would be solid as a staff user too...

Depends on who's localizing it and we don't know that atm, but I'm hoping Durante can work on this.

3 things im excited about. learning about the Liberl arc, especially since Cold Steel 3 kept poking the players with references. Officially meeting the kitty for the first time, ever since you get to interact with her more in Kuro no Kiseki, ive garnered more interest in her background. And finally, a certain crossdress scene, because i love me some hilarity.

I recently played through the entire Trails franchise 3 or so years ago so I don't know if I'll buy Trails in the sky remake. It honestly holds up perfectly fine. I want more people to experience the franchise though and this will absolutely help reduce the barriers to entry.
