Just pulled the trigger on ordering the everse8 from Sweetwater. I have been a long time EV fan with my grandfather building sound reinforcement speakers in the 1960’s using EV drivers that were still thumping at parties in the 1990s. Bulletproof! Was making do with JBL eon one compact for ceremonies over the past few years but never really comfortable with it, mic input levels always needed to be cranked to get adequate volume and strange led light rings around the controls hard to see outside, etc. looking forward to enjoying ceremonies again rather than being nervous about the PA speaker. Hey Rachel! Great and thorough video! I love your detailed tech breakouts. Ive been in the game for roughly 16 years and just picked up 2 Mackie Thump Go 8″ Portable Battery-Powered Loudspeakers. Hey Rachel. Love your stuff. I do the Table Dash(as you call it) However I call it Photo Impossible AND play the 2 minute mission impossible theme so its wrapped up fast.
Rachael just found your channel recently and blown away by your amazing setups / skills / professionalism! Great job! ♥ For your Ape Labs lights do what do you use to control them? Musik mode or something like Sound Switch? Keep up the amazing videos.
❤️ Appreciate your kindness. I use either the Apelabs Connect or the Apelabs remote. Most timed just the remote. Their MusikMode gives a DMX like look without needing anything like sound switch. I don’t like complicated lighting so these were a great solution for me. 🙂 Currently working on my next video. Hope you can check it out.

I am a new subscriber, so I am going back to watching all of your videos right now. I apologize advance for all of the questions I ask on these older videos haha. I know you use the M 30 in the other room, but I’m still curious how you felt about the sound overall
Welcome to the channel. Happy to answer any questions. They rocked. They are a great speaker. When choosing a speaker I consider the following… The number of people in attendance is only one consideration. It depends on the TYPE OF EVENT you’re doing. It depends on HOW DENSELY PACKED the people are going to be. It depends on your SOUND OBJECTIVE (how you want to fill the space). It depends on HOW LARGE the room/dance floor is. It depends on HOW LOUD you need to be at the farthest point in the room. It depends on the UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS of the venue/room. It depends on your CLIENT’S EXPECTATIONS (think student prom vs corporate picnic; do they want or need to to be crushed by sound?) It depends on INDOOR/OUTDOOR considerations (sound moves differently with and without walls). It depends on your knowledge of PROPER GAIN STRUCTURE and knowledge of BUILT IN FEATURES of your speakers. It depends on what your speakers are realistically DESIGNED FOR/CAPABLE OF. Maybe some other things I’m forgetting too. Point is… Always do a site walkthrough. Always understand what is being asked of you. Always know the performance limits of your gear. Always bring the right tool for the job and you’ll never have a problem. 👍🏻 These are perfect for my average weddings. I wouldn’t bring these to a prom.
I really like how you have your moving head lights, how do you have them set up? What do you use to control them and keep them changing through the gobos like that?
They have wireless DMX and can easily be controlled with a remote. They have built in programs. Through the night I just tap different programs to changed things up. I don’t know how to DMX and don’t have the bandwidth for complicated lighting. These were a great solution for me. 🙂
All the lights have built in programs. All lights are controlled with their perspective, remote. Very simple. One button operation. Thanks for checking this out.
The amount of gear you setup is amazing. I'm currently using the Bose S1 Pro for cocktail and ceremony when it's in a different area. I'm definitely curious about your lighting setup. The movers look great on the ceiling. The illuminated stands make your stage pop. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! This setup has been years in the making but I have finally found stuff that allows me to do great stuff with little to no fuss. As a one woman show, ease of use is extremely important to me. The JMAZ movers have been amazing!
Buen día señorita saludos desde Colombia quería preguntarte cuántos parlantes usaste de everse 8 en esa fiesta de 200 personas por q se oye muy bien gracias por su respuesta
I simply use the built in MusikMode and the remote. That’s why Apelabs are amazing. They look great with little to no effort. Their MuikMode gives a DMX like look with no DMX. 🙂 I keep it simple.
My movers are the JMAZ Aero Spot 60 movers. They have are battery powered and have wireless DMX and built in programs that can be controlled with a remote.
Hey Rachel there thanks a lot for the video! The Everse looks like it did the trick! I'm considering getting one for mobile/off grid performances. Was that the only speaker you were using while everyone was dancing? Did you need to pair it with a sub? I'm blown away that it could fill the whole space.
The EVERSE was only used for cocktail hour. In the beginning of the video you see me roll in my Evolve 50s. 😉 I was not DJing the main dance party with the EVERSE. Definitely not enough being it’s only a 8” top. But it is a tremendous speaker!
Awesome to see how you work the dancefloor, great job! Did you play 'Cha Cha Slide'? - Might be wort mentioning i made a remix of it to be a little more "clubby", not to promote it or so but could maybe be interesting for you :)
Looking forward to the video, Rachel! I've been waiting for a new battery powered option, one that's a bit more 'pro' than what's come out before. This just might be it. Looks like Sweetwater is taking preorders. Do I need more speakers? No. Do I need this? I think I do....LOL.
Oh, wow. Just ran the demo on the EV Quicksmart app. Confirmed. I need to get these. Really, really looking forward to your video take on it now, LOL. I recently bought 2 JBL EON One MK2 columns, will be interesting to see how close these compare to the EVERSE-8.
Have you use it for ceremony use yet? Have you run a lapel mic through it? Curious how it does. Looking to buy this or the s1 just for ceremonies where i can’t use my k12’s due to power locations. Bought the mackie go and while it sounds ok with music, it’s garbage running a mic through it. Just doesn't have enough volume to push a mic through it. Price isn’t an issue but quality and something loud and clean for the officiants mic and processional music.
I don’t use Apple Music. I use Spotify and Tidal. I would recommend using a service that has an “offline” mode so you can still access your music. I don’t know if Apple Music offers that because I’ve never used it.
Respectfully, Mackie isn’t even in the same arena as this. This is reflected in the price point as well. It does have a mix out but you can use this with True Stereo Pairing. Meaning you can Bluetooth to two tops. 👍🏻
@@DJRachelLynch I agree 110% as I'm a Bosh/EV fan. If u connect music via Bluetooth, can u hard link an XLR to mix out, and will the audio signal from Bluetooth be sent through the mix out?
@@djnikko You can do it through mix out with cable but Everse is their first speaker That will do true wireless stereo. That means if streaming stereo in Bluetooth to one speaker you can wirelessly pair the two speakers together for a left right solution. This only works on the streaming channel though.

It depends on the UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS of the venue/room.
It depends on your CLIENT’S EXPECTATIONS (think student prom vs corporate picnic; do they want or need to to be crushed by sound?)
It depends on INDOOR/OUTDOOR considerations (sound moves differently with and without walls).
It depends on your knowledge of PROPER GAIN STRUCTURE and knowledge of BUILT IN FEATURES of your speakers.
It depends on what your speakers are realistically DESIGNED FOR/CAPABLE OF.
Maybe some other things I’m forgetting too.
Point is…
Always do a site walkthrough.
Always understand what is being asked of you.
Always know the performance limits of your gear.
Always bring the right tool for the job and you’ll never have a problem. 👍🏻
These are perfect for my average weddings.
really great gig log
Thanks so much! I had a blast at this! ❤️👌🏻
Rachel great video. What lights and lighting software are you using ?
All the lights have built in programs. All lights are controlled with their perspective, remote. Very simple. One button operation.
Thanks for checking this out.
Thank you for the lessons !
Was this what you wanted me to wait for a few weeks ago for? I saw it today
👌🏻💯
i can’t wait for the review side by side against the Yorkville exm mobile 8 , since it has a 3 way speaker...btw great video 💪🤙👍
Reivew is coming today! I don't have any experience so the only side by side I can comment on is with the spec numbers.

Buen trabajo, felicidades. Saludos desde Zinacantepec, México.
❤️🙏🏻
Nice what light fixtures are you using
They are all ApeLabs lighting.
Hi DjRachel, so you used a single unit of everse8 for cocktail hour and then the rest of time it is the powered PA system, is that right?
Correct. EVERSE 8 for cocktail and Evolve 50s for the reception. 🙂
Your uplifting is awesome.
Thank you! It’s all Apelabs up lighting. 🙂
Hi, I loved you speakers tripods, can you tell me which model is? Thanks
Here ya go!
th-cam.com/video/JId80LcradA/w-d-xo.html
You are a rockstar!!! Curious how you are running your apelabs and with what program? Your movers are running separately? Looks great!
I only played SHOUT and the Wobble by request. I’m always open to new versions! Feel free to share. Appreciate the info. 🙌🏻❤️
venues that leave the lights on at party time... FML!!!
It was both the venue and videography that had lights on. 😬😒
Love your videos. Detailed, clean set up and you always kill it 👏🏻
Means a lot! Thanks for your time to check this out. ❤️🤘🏻
You NEED this! 👀
It is dropping today! :) Stay tuned!
clean and nice setup :)
Killin it I see..
Super vlog..well done ...
I appreciate your time to check it out. 🙂
Nice set up. Im in the Philippines 🇵🇭 my business is like that.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking this out. Appreciate you being here. Enjoy the rest of your week! ☺️
Do you reckon just one of the Everse 8s would do a small function up to 50 people? Asking as a singer with backing tracks.
Is this just “background music” like a cocktail hour? Or is this a “performance”? How large of a space? What type of environment?
I came here for ideas, and subscribed over the Pizza Earrings!!!!! lol
You’re the only person to notice!! 🥹❤️
(Fist bump)
You made my entire week with this comment. 😂😭❤️
Do you know what kind of cord is needed to plug a wireless mic into the back?
Never seen that kind of round plug before.
It's just a standard DC post-positive connection here. Nothing proprietary.
Thanks for share ! amaizing job ❤
Thanks so much for checking this out! ❤
It’s great! And the feedback suppression works amazing. This is a better speaker than the S1.
Which booth was that , that you set your laptop on? Very cool.

Also. Damn. You are a true professional.
@@LoVeAmBiEnT ❤️🙏🏻
Rachel, did you only use 1 EV Everse speaker for this whole event? Did you use any bass speakers?
No. The EVERSE 8 was only for cocktail hour. You can see all the gear I use around 1 min in the video.
Hey Rachel do you stream the music from Apple Music for Dj pro .. just got Everese 8 wondering how play my cocktail hour music without WiFi..
I don’t use Apple Music. I use Spotify and Tidal. I would recommend using a service that has an “offline” mode so you can still access your music. I don’t know if Apple Music offers that because I’ve never used it.
I just did a photobooth gig there!!!
Did you achieve that tremendous sound with a single EV8?
No.
Now i can sell my Mackie Thump Go hehe !
Sell it. 💯💯💯😂
We no longer have to remove all the sound when we want the crowd to sing. We can now take out the vocal stem so they still have the music!
Different impact dropping the track out IMO. This was a conscious choice. 🙂
Rachell, Curious where you got the power cable to go from the Everse 8 to power your wireless mic?
It comes with the Tray for EVERSE 8. It includes a 12V DC cable. I got mine from NLFX.
I'm Loving you light show
Thank you! It’s a really great no fuss solution! Apelabs and JAMZ are fantastic.
As far as speakers what was your complete set up? 2 EVs that’s all?
Yes. Main system was 2 Evolve 50s. ☺️
So, was that just the Everse 8 pumping out all that sound for the dance music?
If you check out the gig log, you’ll see the gear used. 🙂
Wow I didn't know vdj had so many effects!
It’s the most versatile and mappable programs out there. 👍🏻
Maybe I missed it, is that only sound from that one speaker? How are your levels looking? Any clipping or anything? It sounds loud!!!
At what part of the video are you referencing? If it’s during the dancing portion, I was not using the EVERSE. Those are EV 50s.
Yo! I'm using the Mackie Go! How's it compare? Does it have Mix out if you use Bluetooth? Mackie does not pass audio through via Bluetooth...
Love the color you are using!!
The up lights? Those are “candle light.” I use that color most weddings. 🙂
Wow! How is the carry bag for it?
I don’t know. I don’t own one yet. 😂
