      @@JairElBoni1485 вы не один такой. И у меня так же, и у многих других читал в комментариях на других каналах. Похоже на маркетинг. А в реальности получается, хотите на всю громкость выводить, подключайтесь к розетке переменного тока или покупайте генератор. Хотите мобильность и автономность не перегружайте Everse 8 на максимум до покраснения индикатора громкости. Аккумулятор не резиновый, в него 12000 ма*ч не поместится, 6000 предел, иначе будет не 440 грамм весить а больше 1 кг, и в размерах как полкирпича. 400 ватт мощности и SPL121 дБ полной АЧХ, это не шутка. Энергопотребление как у танка при максимальных нагрузках. Спасибо что звук не искажает и корпус не разрывает на части от максимальной громкости, крепко сделан.

    Hey Scott! I follow you and keep up with all of your videos. I'm a big fan! However, this video was extra special. I'm an old guy but for the past few decades, I've been associated with EV as a designer and user via the rep firm I worked for. I, of course, have lots of EV gear and my main system is the Evolve 50. I reviewed the Everse 8 when EV released it and at that point, I figured they had another winner and as you and others have shown, they do! I just want to thank you for your review of this outstanding product and I hope your readers and subscribers really come to understand this product as it not only has great features but when one considers its SPL capabilities as a battery powered speaker, there simply is no comparison. I hope you may consider reviewing other EV products such as their mics and wireless products. I use the RE520, RE420, RE20 and the N/D 868. I also have their Zx1's and the rare SB2a subs. I would suggest looking at the RE3 wireless as it can broadcast uniquely via the 600Mhz band. Very handy! And FYI, because of your reviews, I am a Phenyx Pro and Stage Traxx 3 user! Thanks again Scott!

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Gary!! I appreciate that 😊 And yes I absolutely love EV products. My 90s band I play in is the only show that I do not have to provide PA/sound for (when we need to bring sound) and my singer has an EV setup as well. We are huge fans, so I was extremely stoked to get to review this system. It’s so well designed, and I would love to review more in the future 🤘🤘

    You can buy a usb c to 15v dc and power your slxd. I use 2 dual slxd receivers powered by usb power banks with ripcords and use the Behringer flow 8 as my mixer since it’s powered via usb. I don’t need a super loud setup so I can have everything battery powered and the wireless and mixer are inside a 3u shallow rack all connected and powered so all I have to do is connect the xlr to the speaker.

    Watched this as a very, very happy owner of the Everse 8 (for acoustic solo and duo performances using an extra pedalboard for guitar plus extra channels such as stompbox and BeatBuddy via a StompMix 4 mini mixer). It‘s every bit as brilliant as you point out, and I say that coming from the Bose S1 Pro, which I‘ve enjoyed using for many years. The Everse 8, however, is in an entirely different league. It reaches deeper down in frequency, has a much more transparent and authentic treble region (which tends to be comparatively a bit harsh without EQ, but it has plenty of EQ options to tame that), and it offers tons more control over every parameters, plus compression and built-in reverb you can actual tweak. There is no reason at all to get a Bose S1 Pro anymore, unless of course you prefer its Bose signature sound, which is warm and a bit muffled by comparison, or like its slightly smaller form factor better. I‘ll probably still hold onto my Bose just as an extra floor wedge, or to expand my one-speaker Everse E8 setup if and when needed. I figure it won‘t net me much cash if I try to sell it nowadays, especially since the retail price has plummeted since the release of the Everse 8. P.S.: The clarity of the Everse reminds me a lot of my old Mackie SRM 450 powered speakers (the ones that used to have the Italian chassis built in, before Mackie started to use the Chinese ones): Very transparent and true-to-life with just a wee bit of EQing. I found I can once again use my higher-end mics because you can actually hear there subtle differences - the ones that got lost on the Bose S1 Pro, with its tendency to press its (admittedly pleasant) sound signature on everything.

    On the subject of "We're just going to hope for the best"… I was playing on a cruise ship (private cruise) a long time ago, and they'd set up a giant party for the last night on the back deck. Rain kept looking more and more likely, and we could see giant thunderheads on the horizon. The crew kept saying, "Cap'n says it's not going to rain" and they were trying to convince us to set up. I finally had to be the "bad guy" and said no. My band members looked at me as if I'd really screwed the pooch… and then thirty minutes later, the deluge was unbelievable. WHEW!

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yup! Someone has to be the “bad guy” in those situations. Our other guitar player had to do that at one show where they just refused to have us covered. We could literally hear the thunder as they were talking. The lady wouldn’t even look at us the rest of the night she was so furious.
      My favorite was “if there is ANY chance of rain we will move inside.” It absolutely monsoons (this was in Wyoming), and afterwards she goes “well it’s done now right? So you can setup?” Luckily there was another production crew (who I helped tarp everything) and I just had my IEM rack and stuff like that. There were literally power outlets upside down in puddles all over the stage. She still wouldn’t move it inside lol. It’s insanely frustrating. Always have insurance on your gear and do not be afraid to be the “bad guy”

      @Mooseboy08 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ScottUhlMusic Hah! Another quick "rain's coming!" story: About two years ago, we were playing outside, facing west (I'm in Nebraska). We were watching the radar and seeing a big storm headed our way. The giant thunderheads started looming on the horizon, with big flashes of lighting. The audience, with their backs to it, didn't see it.
      At the end of our second set, we said, "Well, we'd better skip that last set and get out of here!" There were quite a few "Boo!'s". Then we said, "Turn around and look behind you…" The audience was gone inside of ten minutes. We luckily got our gear torn down and packed away just before all hell broke loose.

    Hi! I want to ask you something. The maximum sound pressure of the Everse 8 SPL is 121 dB when all three volume controls are set to maximum? From the main speaker page + from the Bluetooth audio channel + The main volume? I was so amazed listening to metallica on a street volume test that I almost fell over from the sound wave, as if a hurricane, tornado and tsunami swept by at the same time

    Hi ! Yesterday I received a package with a new Everse 8 battery. I shot a 7-minute video about the EV Electro-Voice backup battery for Everse 8: unpacking and charging the new battery for the first time. Why do the instructions say about 24 hours if the speaker display showed FULL after 2 hours and 22 minutes and turned off? Of course, I didn't disconnect from 220 volts anyway, but what does it change if the BMS board turns off all electric currents when the battery is fully charged? th-cam.com/video/r7o5AcCujIw/w-d-xo.html

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think it has a 24 hour battery life. I go over the battery life in this video. But this speaker has been working SO well for me. And it definitely lasts longer than 2 hours

      @@ScottUhlMusicYou probably misunderstood me) I'm not talking about autonomy right now, but about the first charge of a new, unused battery. In the instruction manual for the Everse 8 battery from the manufacturer Electro-Voice, in the installation section, it says about 24 hours. That's what I did. I thought that the Full label would appear in 24 hours, but it appeared in 2 hours and 22 minutes. Is it just me or all users? Has anyone noticed this? I captured it on my video. After 2 hours and 22 minutes, the battery was fully charged. Where are the other 22 hours? I kept 220 volts in the socket for exactly one day anyway, but what's the point if the battery charging current is already turned off by the BMS protection board? It doesn't make any sense)

    It's a great speaker. But for wedding ceremonies, it's not good for mission-critical. I need a knob for EQ to access quick. Can't be messing with a DSP when you need to adjust gain, EQ quickly.

    There is something weird with the Bluetooth and a Iphone 11(pro), when I set the sound on my phone at zero while playing a song, the speaker still puts music through. Sometimes it just works as a normal Bluetooth speaker, but most of the time I cant make it silent bij turning down the music on my phone. This is not a problem with android phones and laptops. I think it means whether it is possible to sing into a microphone and play guitar with backing tracks. Yes, you can. This is what it is designed for, to make the most of the speaker system. The main question here is how long the battery will run continuously until it runs out. Personally, it bothers me. Because in this mode, when all three channels are working, 100% of the battery charge lasts for 2.5 hours at high volume. I played outside three times, microphone, guitar, backing tracks. Found out.

    Thanks for the review Scott. I'm currently using the LD Systems Maui 5 Go (column system similar to a Bose compact) paired with a Behringer Flow 8 mixer for my battery powered set up at weddings. The Maui's sound great and have plenty of headroom on recorded music but can break up a little if they are pushed in live music situations. I find this pretty common with other battery powered speakers I've used. How do you find the Everse 8? Can it handle live performances like a regular pa speaker? Nice presentation and information. I've enjoyed my pair of 8s for about 6 months. I do about 11 one hour shows and plug them in while performing the 12th show, rinse and repeat! I am interested to know this: I currently use a mixer to go L/R from my keyboard and L/R out of my mixer to each speaker *achieving stereo. I am able to put my mic in the mixer, thus it comes out of both speakers. I was wondering if I can use a wireless mic transmitter in to one 8 speaker and somehow get the mic out of both speakers? If so, I can also do (2) other transmitters from my keyboard into each speaker for stereo? I would hope this works, if so..would be amazing. I LOVE THESE SPEAKERS - they sound so good.

      If you are only interested in sound, my choice is the Electro Voice because they make my favorite speakers. A buddy of mine will basically only get stuff that is Bose. Tone is subjective, and I would look to see which one has the features you want. But EV wins for me with tone every time… but both sound great

    Hi! Happy New Year! I have a question of the century! From the category of "I want to know everything"))) Judging by the technical data, the JBL Eon One Compact battery (amplifier power 150 W, maximum volume level 112 dB) has a capacity of 6100 mAh × 14.8 volts = 90.28 wh = 12 at medium volume and 4 hours of operation at maximum volume compared to Everse 8 (amplifier power 400 W (volume maximum level 121 dB) - capacity 6000 mAh × 14.4 volts = 86.4 Wh = 12 and 6 hours of operation. Why does the Everse 8 have the same duration of operation at medium volume and a longer maximum operating time with 2.6 times more amplifier power and less battery charge??? According to the technical specifications comparing the power of amplifiers and batteries, the duration of operation of the Everse 8 should be less. Or am I wrong, mathematics and physics don't work here. Then how is this possible?

    Another question from me! Sorry to bother you) Do you have the Everse 8 display blinking sometimes when the battery is turned off and in charging mode from an electrical outlet? Chaotically, without a specific time interval. It can dim for a long time, then it can flash for a few seconds and so on for the entire time until it is fully charged to the state of full 100% charge and turns off. Or does the display always glow dimly when charging the battery without such flashing? And is there real, personally verified data on how long it takes to charge from 0 to 100%? If you haven't tried this, would you be willing to see if your acoustic-electric would work (with a 1/4" to 3.5mm reducer) on input 3/4. As long as that input would work for guitar, I would control the tone and most of the volume with my preamp on the guitar. The Bluetooth would not be used for live backing tracks or anything we don't use those, it would be used for break music without having to unplug the input from 3/4 that's why I was asking that part - again thanks for the quick response. Both are great! For busking only, probably the Bose, but I truly love the versatility of the Everse 8

    Is there any third part app ( like mix station) that allows for full control of the compressor parameters or PEQ on each channel?

      You can control the speaker with the EV QuickSmart APP. It works great 👍

    Awesome review thanks! Contemplating this vs Bose S1..assuming both are available in my country. Will just use mainly for karaoke and guitar/with vocals.
    Looks power packed features. I’m just afraid with that digital dial, how durable are those? Does it have like a dial rotation/press life? Compared with old fashioned knobs that lasts for many years. Thankfully there’s an App! So for those who own this- am I correct to assume that 90% of controls is done via app? Bec I don’t trust that one knob for all 😂

      I’ve used multiple EV stuff over the years and my singer does too. Never had a problem with the dial! Not once 🤘

    So you have the weatherproof cover on it, meanwhile you’re $700 Sennheiser transmitter is sitting in the rain 😂

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha I do hope they come up with a weatherproof cover that can cover the wireless on top… however, for like cocktail hour, or acoustic sets, or just outdoor events where you do NOT have the tray on top, it’s really nice to have that weather protection 🤘

      Dude, it’s summer and I know it’s coming hahaha. 3 weddings this weekend. One of them is a good friend, so I’m not worried about that one, but another one is in Wyoming. We will see!

    Does the rain cover still fit with the accessory tray and an uhf receiver sitting on top? Just wondering how I would still do a wireless mic while using the rain cover

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it doesn’t. I have a tarp if I use it in that situation, and then I’ll put the cover on it for playing music from it

    Hello, have you tried SHURE SLXD, does it work on EV everse 8, since it is 15v?

      I mentioned in the video specifically I tried with the slxd and it didn’t work. Phenyx pro PTU 1U worked great though

    Hi Scott, thanks for your videos, they are amazing!
    I have a question, I hope you can answer me. I already bought the Everse 8 but I want to connect my wireless system, I have the Shure Blx4r but I don't know if it is compatible, do you know if this system works with the Ev? And what cable should I buy to plug in and power the system? I notice that the plug on the Ev is 5.6mm and on the Shure it is 5.5mm, it seems to me

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’ll have to see if it provides enough power. My guess is no, because my Shure system didn’t get enough power from it. You can always plug it into some external power or use this guy right here: th-cam.com/video/-RbykZwyzMY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vSvNtvvlGzKIbCwi

    What was the wireless system that you used, was it that little pak sticking out of the back of the speaker? As opposed to the large wireless on top which I assume was for the wireless mic only? Great demo.
