Neck Column is that column which starts from top of footing upto the ground level. The column which
is raised above the footing continues above the ground level. The portion of it from footing top upto the ground level is known as Neck Column and the portion above the ground level is known as Floor
column.
The calculations for neck Column will be covered in substructure part and for floor column the calculations will be done in superstructure part of my series.

Calculating neck column by equations: finding the volume : l×w×h
0.3 m×0.3 m×1.64 m =0.149 m cube
Thus dry volume = 0.149 × 1 .54 = 0.229 m cube .
Concrete reinforcement load baring capacity of ratio 1 :2 :4. M15 N
1+2+4=7
1 PART CEMENT evaluated to a 1.25 standard .
So 0.229×1/7 =0.33 ×1.25=0.41 .
Or 1/4 bag or more but no less than .
2 part sand = 2/7 ×0.229 =0.6754 m cube
4 part Gravel = 0.229× 4/7 =131 m cube .

It provides a protective coating and acts as a waterproofing agent, especially on surfaces like concrete.... Also Bituminous coating is regarded as one of the least expensive ways to provide protection to concrete surfaces.
