Penland School of Art and Craft may be where your small, pottery bowl was made. It has a huge pottery school, textiles, glass, metal work, book binding, painting, print making, woodwork, what ever art or craft you could want. It’s in the mountains of NC. Beautiful place!

Michael- I must say, that is one of the most interesting shopping tours and hauls you've had! And with you, that takes considerable doing. I've been in the antique biz for 40+ years, have a Victorian houseload besides, so am always loving to see new things. Instead of buying, we need to think about downsizing- but not yet-its still too much fun! Thank you, Michael!

Roseville “Jonquil” pieces had stickers, instead of the incised Roseville mark. I have a piece of Roseville “Blackberry”, which was made around the same time period(early 1930’s)that is also not marked. That basket shape piece may be worth going back for!

    • @jackpearson7294

Yes the Jonquil basket would definitely be worth going back for in Kansas they sell for upwards of $300 the baskets are very rare

I appreciate the less speedy camera, the closer viewpoint for items rather than only on the ones you pick up. And yes, I do sometimes yell 'NO, don't leave that behind' or 'Stop, go back and pick that up [the blue Morph butterfly tray framed in wicker, below the dollhouse, at 27:55 in the vid :( ]' or 'PLEASE, focus on the price tag-i want to know what it was". Overall I really enjoy being 'mouse in your pocket' on these trips, and thankyou.

Fun Fact : In the 1970's my grandmother and grandfather were Antique Dealers, and my mother was also a dealer, and my father was an antique bottle dealer and president of the Nashville Bottle Club, and all of them liked imperfections and air bubbles in the pieces they bought and sold, and the customers would pay more for those items. Much love.

Michael-- that was a jonquil Roseville! It even had its original sticker! It was made in 1931, before the incised labels. $75 was an excellent price. I would have gotten it for that price.

Of course you can use the word “unusualness”….how about “unusuality”? 😁 I’m with you - I love when you see things that transport you back to your childhood! I grew up in the 60s, so when you scroll over saltines tins, I remember lunches with my siblings - Campbell’s soup with crackers, and a banana for our lunch. We put the Chiquita banana stickers on the side of the cracker tin, so by the time I left home the sides were covered with blue stickers. I saved it when we cleaned out my folks’ house, though the one I actually USE is the repro they made in 1976 (I was working in a grocery store, and bought one for each of my siblings). All the Penguin Servers that you see also remind me of family dinners in the 60s. They were still making them in the 70s, so I got my own as a wedding present😁.
