people say smoking and drugs messed her up. Yeah for sure but really they had her back to back on the road singing. Television shows and talking all the time. All kinds of weather conditions. Her voice was on a strain😩

Singapore Pearl and fifa was right after her miscarriage. she announced she was pregnant at a show 2 weeks after this one so it makes me wonder if she had just fallen pregnant here considering she was sick the night before.

@Mattie Anti Its a combination of many things. Whitney smoke and also overused her voice. Peabo Bryson wasnt doing 2 year long tours either.
Her voice deterioration in a span of 10 years is just too fast. Dionne can still hit those notes up to this day. Celine too.
@lsaturn01 Okay, but listen to Dionne from the 60's up to the late 90's. Voice is almost the same. That's covering almost 4 decades. Whitney started 1985 and her voice started to deteriorate as early as 1994. That's less than 10 years.
Dionne may no longer have the sustained power she had in the 80's but she can still hit some notes, look at her recent videos.
And every time you have a child or get pregnant your octaves lower, and she had quite a few miscarriages
Eddie Kendricks from The temptations lost his falsetto voice and died of cancer from smoking you just never know which way it'll go.
