The 70's was the best and will always be the best time to grow up. I saw Skynyrd, Charlie, Marshall Tucker, the Allman Bros. when they would play in the small clubs in Atlanta. Between them and just being able to have fun and not get locked up,, it'll never be as good as the 70's. The music will live for ever

Here is a man that loved what he did. I saw him at the Grand Ole Opry about two or three years ago. He was 80 at that time. This is a man that could have retired, but he was still out there and he was damn awesome.
Had the privilege of scratchin' this one off the bucket list this summer. The HIGH lite for me was seeing this young man sing "How Great Thou Art" Single spot, him an the guitar, singin for all of us. Something was in my eye, couldn't focus, but I HEARD.

Met Charlie about 30 years ago or so when I was a little boy. He signed a photo for me and it was one of those things I'll never forget. He was a huge animal looking guy whose music I loved, and he talked to me like a man for longer than he had to. Total respect to this fine example of what a man oughta be.

Saw this young man at the fryberg fair last year still cranking it out in his 80es keep on trucking CDB !!
Had the privilege of scratchin' this one off the bucket list this summer. The HIGH lite for me was seeing this young man sing "How Great Thou Art" Single spot, him an the guitar, singin for all of us. Something was in my eye, couldn't focus, but I HEARD.
I had the honor of running his light show once many years ago. Amazing performer and great music. RIP Long Haired Country Boy

Met Charlie about 30 years ago or so when I was a little boy. He signed a photo for me and it was one of those things I'll never forget. He was a huge animal looking guy whose music I loved, and he talked to me like a man for longer than he had to. Total respect to this fine example of what a man oughta be.

Why do people have to make this political? Music is music, man. It doesn't matter what party you belong to, what color your skin is, what country you're from. Good music can and should be able to be appreciated by everybody.

Every time I hear this song, I remember my boyfriend back in 1979, or 80....anyway, he just absolutely loved this song, and we listened to it on an 8-track I think while we rode into town. Good ole boys!
Might have been a cassette
Released in 74 so 8-track is as likely as cassette. Then there were the Reel to Reel folks...oh the oxides of metal, and the hiss and wear and head cleanings.
Why 8 track you can only run on one
