He will always be greatly missed. He was an incredible artist, producer, and song writer. I never knew he produced Carl Thomas’s Summer Rain & Beanie Siegel’s I Can Feel It In The Air. I miss Heavy D with all my heart. I wasn't the biggest hip hop fan in 88-89 but i remember being at Summer Camp and we had a talent show. There was these girls that danced to We Got Our Own Thing by Heavy D and The Boyz and i was hooked. After that Big Hev became my favorite rapper. He introduced me to a different life. Dope video man! Heavy D is in my Top 10 of all artists across all genres. Last year, I caught a DVT in my leg from a long flight. Once I got home, something just didn’t feel right. I got checked and they caught the clot, which ended up breaking and causing a pulmonary embolism. I was fortunate that docs gave me blood thinners. I’m very healthy and I work out 5X a week, but blood clots aren’t a joke. Heavy D should’ve never been given a Z Pack, he should’ve been prescribed blood thinners. It sucks that that docs error cost him his life. Solid video… RIP Heavy
I had a major crush on Heavy D. According to The TV show Unsung they stated that he was a good decent man. That he was the voice of reason when it came to his friends. Example if he saw one of his male friends who had a girlfriend, talking to another woman he would say something. Very rare. He was a gem.
