They had an album with Maya Angelou. She was reciting poetry while they sang. It was a trip. Him, Verdine White and Edwin Hawkins knew they loved that Black Jesus look. Mr. Nick had that hairstyle until the end of his life, I believe and Verdine still has his today. "Solid" and "Is It Still Good To You' are my joints !!! I ran into Nick Ashford in Manhattan when I was 15 yr old kid and asked him if he was Peaces and Hurb? He was to me that I made his day and gave me a hug. I'll never forget that moment and how kind he was!
Another great video! Can’t wait for Valerie’s video. I was getting on a flight in NYC years ago, was walking by the first class folks, looked over and saw Ashford and Simpson. Valerie looked like she was doing a word puzzle book. I was superrrr excited and had to control it lol. I smiled and waved to Nick. He smiled and tapped Valerie. She looked over and waved. I’ll never forget it! Nick was also often spotted just sitting on a park bench by himself in my Connecticut hometown, not far from NYC.
