Great video. Engine stop/start can be programmed to stay off. I’ve had 3 of these 2012, 2013 and now 2915 M650ix. So glad it’s just a name change to 850 and refresh to position it to where it’s always been... the most expensive BMW.

eh... I disagree there. BMW interiors aren't unique across their entire model range, aside from a few subtleties. They look great inside- subdued but modern, not overstyled (like mercedes), though they wear poorly over time. They do have the best infotainment in the industry. BMW pretty much puts all their engineering into performance, which is fine, but they don't have special interiors across their range; they're all pretty much copy paste. Lexus has mediocre performance but their interiors feel much more special... but are also dated with a shit infotainment.
@@sly9263I own the m850i. I have an C class, Q8 and my uncles GLE. Believe me that the amount of leather and precise stitching is like nothing else. The car has a lot of down sides like the back seats and it empties your tank pretty fast.. I drive it in Berlin / Germany and it usually takes the spotlight of a lambo that’s standing next to me. The car has a big price tag, but still outstanding.

The 8 series is stunning looking car which in Gran Coupe looks even more stunning. The interior design and build quality is fantastic and you feel like you're sitting in something special. It is a real head turner BMW have done a great job creating a special car.
Love your reviews. I own an M240i x cab. . .In sport mode I’m always amazed that the pressure on the brake petal dictates the very cool downshifts so I am ready to jump when I hit the gas. .. . Really very cool. . But ugh. . .I love that 850. .

You're going to get attention if you drive this down to the club. It looks the business. Long and flowing. It makes things like the R8, etc. look like toys.
Its interesting that the BMW M850i, i8, and Acura NSX are all quite dashing and so different, yet miss the mark in similar ways. When you have 100k to 150k to spend, you do not want a Mercedes C class, Audi A3, BMW 2 series, nor Acura TLX interior. So when put these two up next to the Mercedes Benz AMG GTR, Audi R8, Aston Martin Vantage, and Porsche 911 you start to wonder "why the heck do I feel so slow? And why does my luxury halo car interior feel cheap all of a sudden?"
For an all wheel drive car that's good. But even a hellcat gets almost 20mpg. 20mpg in a v8 isn't all that strange now but I'm surprised it gets it with the turbos and all wheel drive tho
@@bobo80085 turbos dont give you that much more efficency over regular. my bosses eco boost truck gets less mpg than a 5.3 gmc. Im just surprised because sometimes the smaller turbo engines need to work a little more on a bigger car and even more so for a performance car. Another example is i get 24mpg highway and 19 combined out of my 6.4 brick of a challenger and thats because the engine hardly needs to work to move it. With the all wheel drive and 550hp and it being 4500lb on a smaller v8 im surprised it gets such good mpg
@@bobo80085 im sorry if i thought a small displacement v8 in a 4500lb to 4700lb car with all wheel drive got surprisingly good mpg. I mean yea thats probably the turbos doing there job but i have seen some turbo cars get ass mpg
I have a BMW M850 XDrive. Year 2019. After purchase, everything worked. I went for chip tuning and popcorn making. Then I went to a mechanic who replaced the battery in the front of my car (technical) and did some digging because I wanted to have a BMW Me. Car from the USA and he came to the conclusion that he wouldn't do it. I picked up the car, the radio was Sirus (America), it was impossible to change the time, it was New York. I did a reset from the panel in the car. But what's most interesting. Previously, I had a different car sound with eco and switching to sport+. Now I don't feel any difference when starting the car. And there was a different characterization. The flaps open. and they are open all the time. Tuning has been undone. I called the dealership and they said that the flaps should open in comfort and sport+ modes. However, they are still open. The guy who previously converted from the US to the EU accessed my car remotely and doesn't know what could be wrong. I have a cable for remote connection. the steering wheel also behaves similarly in all modes. I have the impression that the car is in sport mode. Changing to comfort and eco does not cause any difference in the behavior of the car and the steering wheel works just as hard. The only difference is in sport+, where the car actually revs higher. I've read that people have various problems after replacing the battery. technical, but I haven't read about a case like mine anywhere. Please help.
Yeah exactly what I thought! It's like a really, really expensive, slightly melted looking German Mustang. Definitely not a patch on the original 850i design.
I absolutely agree. The front upper & lower grills mimics those of the Mustang. The shape of the side windows & the cars side profile looks like the Ford, too. The Mustang is a good-looking car just as well as the Bimmer. But, for over $100K, I expect more distinctions on the car.
