The stuff's not even that cute if you do have cats and dogs. I'm getting it mainly for the rodents and bc it's free but I wish they'd gone for more practical stuff that could be used in more kinds of builds. Like there's still no doghouses. I'm glad they're going for a more realistic look for stuff now like the new small appliances actually look normal

It gave you seven build objects, 18 CAS objects most of which were costumes and some of which are now in the base game, two drinks in game, and two more party options (black and white party and incognito costume party). Stanley Humphrey’s hot dog hat is from the upgrade. It costs more than a stuff pack and the average stuff pack came with 23 CAS and 23 build items. Luxury party stuff, which is known for cheaping out on build items, had 12 items and the “upgrade” costs _more_ than that. I don’t know if it’s free now, but I literally convinced my friend out of buying it for $2 because it’s not even worth $2. Most simmers on TH-cam bought it on release day without a second thought and thus don’t even realize how bad it is. Look up the items and you’ll see what I mean.

I honestly hate how the Sims always forget about console players. They are so many console bugs that they never seem to fix and the controls aren’t much good. I have bought $200+ worth of packs on my Xbox which is the only thing that keeps me playing it on my Xbox.

100% feel this as a PlayStation user. I dedicated my ps4 for the sims, deleted everything on it besides the sims lol it still runs so slow, has major gameplay glitches but I can’t afford a Mac or pc. My console is old and could use a cleaning but I do take care of it and it runs other games so well. It’s literally the sims, it takes 20mins to load the game and 15 mins to travel or do anything 😂 they’ve been making small updates but it’s not enough and the game should be able to work smoothly for everyone :/

Although there ARE items here I love (especially that cat lamp, my mom has one just like it IRL) I would NEVER have paid money to get DLC for DLC. Glad they finally took the hint and are now giving it away (even if it is only limited time, who knows, maybe they'll include it with purchase of Cats and Dogs in the future)
That would make way more sense. Like give it away for free if you have Cats and Dogs, and that could drive people to buy that expansion pack. But hey, it's still better that they gave it away to everyone :D

Having it bundled is cool for new players or those that didn't have C & D pre MFPS release. but the option to buy separate should've always been available for console players too.

I've honestly wanted this pack for multiple things (silly fish table, rodents, more clothes for pets, the rug, the egg bed) ever since i got cats and dogs but have never got it mostly out of spite of it existing so im glad it's free now

Would be nice if EA gave a discount for players that have the pack in there game before it became free. I don’t expect money back as they didn’t do that when making the base game free, but a 10% discount on a next purchase would be something

@@pathetic2399, I'm actually shocked by how many players are saying they hadn't bought it, even though there were things in it they really wanted. And the reason they are so thrilled it's free now is because that's the only way they were ever going to get it. I think we have this idea that Simmers will buy anything no matter what. But, apparently, there are a whole lot of players who held strong when it came to this pack.
Nobody ever said My First Pet Stuff didn't sell at all. But there is no way it sold as well as EA wanted.

Currently loving The Sims. Got the basegame for FREE on a two-days sale in 2016 ish. Got the desert deluxe kit for free, and recently got THREE more packs for free (jungle adventures, luxury party, and a kit which i don't remember the name), AND NOW THIS!!! LOOOL i am f****ng the system, never paid for anything

I believe it all happened this year except the Desert deluxe kit which was free on October 2022 only for those who already owned the basegame. If it wasn't for Lilsimsie telling us, I wouldn't have noticed

On PlayStation, you are only able to buy Cats & Dogs with My First Pet Stuff, which is quite annoying as they charge you the full €50 that it would cost for them seperate, but if you get it on sale, the bundle is €20 (the same price as Cats & Dogs by itself) so you pretty much get My First Pet Stuff for free. Now that there’s the 60% discount I’m happy as I can get them both for €15, but the sale goes off two days before my birthday so that means I can’t get Cats & Dogs for my birthday😢
Imagine having cats and dogs already, not beeing able to get my first stuff pack seperately so only choice buy the bundle and pay for something that is free for others and something you already own😂

That's one of the pack that I would have never gotten for any other price. Then, there are a few that I wouldn't get even if I was paid to get them : Vampire, Journey to Batuu, Bust the Dust, Laundry day.

I mean, My First Stuff comes free with the Cats and Dogs expansion for both Xbox and Playstation. Like you cannot have Cats and Dogs without the stuff pack as well

@@nezromightyroc6321 except it doesn't if you owned Cats & Dogs *before* they brought out My First Pet like many of us did. I never was able to buy it separately, like it always should have been for *all* players, cause the game always said it was unavailable for purchase. Console players who have C & D already shouldn't have to pay the EP price for a stuff pack when EA could smarten up and just give it to us separate like everyone else.

Very unpopular opinion, but I really want a pet kit. The general size and aesthetic of the original Pets expansion pack wasn't particular great back then and hasn't aged all that well. I think it could be very intentionally done were most items can be used in a reasonable way for both pets and general decoration. I want a 2x1 dog bed that is reasonably sized, small glass decorative treat containers that can also have cookie swatches so we can finally have a new cookie container other than the 1 in base game. I want a wall hang that doesn't extend out an entire hallway width that maybe has a jacket, leash and and keys. We could also use a new free standing coat rack with maybe a jacket, leash, and backpack (again... the second one since the base game). It would be great to have grass pads that dogs can use in apartments or completely paved back yards, but can also slot along side each other and be used for decoration. More cat toys wouldn't go amiss, especially ones that hang on the wall or they can play with on their own. Some cleaning supplies clutter like paper towels and spray bottles, a basic roll of paper towels without a holder, and a horizontal paper towel wall hang would be useful for both pet clutter and general house clutter... and again we only have the one paper towel decor item in the base game. It would be great to be able to put cat beds on surfaces and maybe have wall shelves cats can get on but is also a general shelf. It'd be cool to have a basket with blankets that is actually a small pet bed but can also be decorative even without pets on the lot. It'd also be great if there was a general update to the existing small pet beds to be useable for infants like the infant play pad from Growing Together can be used for small pets. I'd love dog houses that can also be toddler or kids play houses like I think it was in TS3. A few of the swatches can look like a play house instead of a dog house. They could use the existing incense coding and make regular looking candles. Another idea would be decor items in the same vein as the decorative fish and frogs like lizards, snakes, spiders, and the little roly-poly terrariums a lot of people have in real life. Shoot, they could even go as far as to make floor vents like you would find in a house with central heat/air that dogs lay on when the air is on and cats hang out around when the heat is on. There are so many options and it would be sooooo good to have more updated modern and attractive pet stuff that can also easily be used even if you don't have TS4 Pets or pets on the lot you're building/decorating.
I was just thinking a couple days ago while building some multi-family homes for the upcoming pack that I wish there was more pet stuff that was less cutesy wootsie and more functional like this, but also knowing a lot of people would be upset at "DLC for DLC" but... Things like this with pet-compatibility added that also works for babies/toddlers and has a bunch of generic options as well would be exactly the sort of thing I'd want.
@mindsendStoryweaver right? Because unless you have growing together, babies are basically horrific. Adding stuff in for the whole family, including pets, would be amazing. They could even call it "The Family Kit" or something like that.

It's actually one of my favorite stuff packs! I love this one for gameplay, I'm glad more people will have it.
I really like it as well. Minus the controversial stuff, it really is a nice stuff pack. I like the addition of rodents and it's awesome that kids can use their little rodent pets to do their homework instead of just filling out their little homework book. Freshens it up a bit. Plus the goofy things the little pets can get up to XD

I got this pack for dirt cheap in a sale a few years ago- i love the furniture!!!! It’s one of my favorite things for kids rooms and any eclectic/artsy/trendy build styles!
I was devastated when I brought this pack when it first came out. I didn’t even care about how the vibe looked like they had just randomly held things back from the cats and dogs pack, but I cried when I found out that you can’t put your own fish in the coffee table, and that the colorful tubing that had been shown in the trailer was just wall paper, not tubing that the hamsters could actually run through. 😢

I was buying a couple packs that I really wanted for the sale yesterday, but I didn't scroll down far enough to see My First Pet Stuff, I am glad you made this video. I just got it to see the pet costumes since I already have cats and dogs and a little for the rodents. Now that I have it, I may install the mod that adds ferrets, they are the best rodents (I would know, I got 2 of them and love them😘)

Desert luxe was just a peace offering for people who had base game when they made it free and pretty sure they’re only giving this one away since it’s the least popular dlc so I doubt we’ll get many more, especially since they seem to have given up on the pack refresh thing as well

There are actually fish tank coffee tables in real life. I used to see them in the catalogs my mother always got back in the 80s. Those catalogs sold everything from aquarium coffee tables to Lazy Susans.

The thing is I actually like the fact this adds more variety to pet furniture etc, as once you have the expansion pack you aren't going to get new swatches and objects for it in other expansions to keep it updated with newer designs or find it reusable in many different homes, I feel this is where kits would actually be handy as giving build buy objects with different designs but functionality from expansions. it gets boring real fast when you know that the expansion only objects will never have a large enough scope. imagine getting some modern cat beds, cat wall mounted jungles or new leashes & collars or with other expansions, I wish there were more flower arranging tables, some more modern some maybe that could fit with some counters so you could have a little florist shop, the brewery station feels meh visually so I rarely use it, cafe counters from get together only match with one set of counters, dew collectors that could work in older homes (there are old wooden barrel looking rainwater collectors people attach to rainwater pipes or you could add functional wells, as in visually it's a well, but the game recognizes it as a collector), new playmats for infants, new lego tables, new clotheslines like perhaps one you can attach to a wall or the indoor foldable ones that you can move around, more play tents and those task boards from the parenting pack, I could go on about all these things that don't fit most builds and are exclusive to one pack so it will never be made again with more designs in other expansion most likely. I know there are mods, but I stopped using most of them after a while as every patch I would have to see what broke etc. also having more murphy beds would be nice too, especially with the new apartment pack

This is the first time I've found out about a Sims promo before hearing it from Lilsimsie! Downloaded already. Nice to have the preview of what's in it, I haven't had the time to play it yet.
The adult bedroom ALMOST worked with the colour of the chair in the end. I still really wanted to change the bed to something else, the shades of blue of the bed and the wall didn't quite work for me with the rug. I loved how quickly you threw this together though, you're a real pro, it's totally understandable not trying to make it the most beautiful starter home because it's MY FIRST PET STUFF lol.
