Thanks for the idea. I just got Kids Room Stuff for Christmas and was trying to think of things to do with it other than just putting the objects in my sim's house, which I will be doing too probably.

The void critters are divided into categories based on their element. There are Wind, Earth, Fire, Water, and Void, hence the five different groups. Each element has one common, two uncommon, and one rare critter. There's your niche Sims 4 trivia... 😅 Edit: Finishing the collection isn't hard, just tedious because there is always one rare card that takes ages to pop up. I once set out to a complete a collection of all foil cards. I did it... but never again.
At one point I was missing like 3 cards. I was buying cards like crazy and coming up short. One card I was missing was “rare” and my soul was shattered when I realized I could just buy it on the cell phone. 😭

Almost all of my sims kids use the voidcritters! By far my favorite "thing" in the Sims 4 world - especially when we get clothing and items that include voidcritters in later packs
The only thing abt this pack that's a def miss for me was that it didn't come with a way to display the cards!! Like how werewolves has that relic case, I wanted something similar for all the VCs!
@@Stayville_Clown They do, but they don't have a dedicated display case where it all fits nicely like the elements or werewolf relics do. It's kinda annoying that they don't line up on the shelf by rarity or element.
I wish all the collections had dedicated shelves - with the frogs, I usually end up just having them float so some cases look like they are stuck to the wall
I love the voidceitter gameplay from this pack!!! My kids in game have little to do and this is something that is for them! We need MORE systems like this one. I wish they’d add like Magic the Gathering cards! Those can be for kids and teens and adults!
I love the voidcritter stuff. I kind of wish they made like a game hobby pack with stuff like game tables adults can play voidcritters on, voidcritter competitions like Magic and Pokémon irl. Maybe something like DnD, it’d give sims something else to do as a hobby :)
I'm on the Autism spectrum and when I was doing 'social skills training' we often used puppets to help with this and 'act out' different situations and I do puppetry as a hobby IRL. The puppets are therefore my favourite part of this pack.
Do you make your own puppets? Because I have so much respect and awe for the talented people who make their own puppets. People don’t realize how much actually goes into it!
When I was young it used it be nothing more that drawn images glued to popsicle sticks but as I got older I learned to make more detailed ones out of material like felt. Now I am learning to make and use puppets that are bigger and more akin to the sesame street characters I grew up with. Yes these puppets are really hard to make and learn to use but It is so worth it once it's finished and you can put together a story
not me having to restart the video bc i was just watching kayla for the first 5 mins lol. i know she’s not sure abt the hair but her new haircut is definitely doing it for her!! she’s so gorgeous (she already was before the haircut but wow) i just feel like she had this brighter glow to her now! i love it & i love her!! 🥹😍
i personally love this stuff pack, i may not use the voidcritter gameplay a lot but i personally really love pokemon and i love giving my sims kids/teens a similar obsession to make them feel more like me. plus i think it's fun when they're bringing back more of this stuff in later packs, like how there's a commercial job in the acting career from get famous for voidcritter cereal or how that bathroom clutter kit has voidcritter swatches on rugs/towels/toothbrushes!!
I like how much thought went into the Voidcritters lore, so I don't like how some other packs (eg: Get Famous) treat it like an annoying baby franchise. I would play a full Voidcritters game.
The idea for this pack was great, but I think the furniture and especially the clothes aged so badly. The furniture also looks a little bit chunky, it's just it looked better than basegame/expansion pack furniture in 2016. If they didn't insist on such neon colors that don't match anything else in the game it would've been more versatile. It was a good buy back in the day, but nowadays it's better to get parenthood, growing together or cottage living and get kids activities alongside activities for everyone else.
You guys are annoyed at how brightly colored the furniture is... for a kid's room pack? My younger aged self would've been ecstatic at how fun and bright my bedroom would look like. Not to mention how important color is for a child's brain development. I swear Sims players are the sad beige moms of the gaming community.
@@cjdonato1455it’s not about the colors lol! The items themselves aren’t as good as items we receive now in packs. That comes with all the old packs though… the quality, swatches, and clunky-ness are worse in older packs than what we get now.
Voidcritters are genuinely such a fun gameplay aspect for kids. I also love love love the fairy lights wall photos. I really do think this is a pack that does enhance gameplay if you enjoy that fun childlike whimsy that the sims 4 captures at times.
@@annieonpaperagreed! An age that’s from about 3-5! Even though they would be a lot to deal with if accurate to that age group irl lol. It would be funny to see an adult sim running after a 3 year old sim, or pop ups of something sassy/crazy the kid said. Learning to read/write!
I’d agree but I think adding one or two more life stages would be a lot for gameplay, and honesty infants are so broken I couldn’t imagine the stress from adding more life stages lol. I’d love for them to have more clothes that are tailored to preteens, along with furniture and more gameplay-related actions!!
I believe the reason why the decals are separate is because they wanted to separate each Voidcritter into their elements (if you read the item names, they mention the element of the Voidcritters in the swatches). Not sure why they did this, maybe it’s so you can find them easier, maybe it’s to make the swatches less overwhelming because there are a lot, or maybe it’s more about lore, so you learn which Voidcritter is which. I think I like that they separated them for all of the above! 🤗
I used to have these plasticky, cargo-style pink camo pants that I absolutely adored as a kid. They were awful, and my parents sometimes gavd me hints that they kinda maybe weren't the cutest thing (they were a hand-me-down from an older friend), but I insisted on wearing them and I thought I was the coolest little girl on earth with them on. Good times lol
the butterflies on the wall TOOK ME BACK! i remember i wanted them so bad when i was little and i had a few ones that were standalone. the clothes are so cute, even if they are outdated. i never bought this pack but it is so adorable.
The puppet theater increases the creativity skill similar to the play tent which is why I put it in every community center and library and I try to fit in my kids playroom if I can. Also it’s just CUTE. I haven’t had a chance to use the void battle critter game yet but my toddlers are going to age up so I’m going to get to play with it soon
That Hexagonal shelf I like to use in the bathroom to put accessories in it. Also, I like to use it in the office for shelving for plants and candles, and a divider in apartments.
I'm so mesmerized by your hair that I didn't even listen to the 2 first minutes ! it's so shiny and this haircut looks soooo good on you ! let me get back to the video now 😭
If only the sims 4 would REALLY fix wedding stories! That pack was really good in theory, but it doesn't work!! But Tartosa is gorgeous... Anyway, I think we need a new kids pack, preferably a stuff pack. In my ideal world, they should fix the gameplay items so kids can use them, not only adults!!
I also love that you can also get a voidcritter card from Yamachan at the kids festival in Mt. Komorebi. You have to go on a scavenger hunt for them! I always took my sims kids :’) now they’ve grown up
I like that they carried on with voidcritters in future expansions in decor/clothing but also some gameplay. I think I've had this pack since it came out, and I don't think I've had the kids play the card game either and not very much with the puppets. I know there is kids festival in Snowy Escape where the challenge is to have the kid search for & collect voidcritters much like the pkoemon game kids use their phones to search around as a mix of real world places & the game generated pokemon. I have had my kids try it, and It's not an easy challenge, and I think my sim kids have failed at it about 50% of the time. So if you are thinking of buying Snow Escape & can bundle it with this one, it would be a good deal.
I know what you mean about “fancy” kids clothes vs “childlike” kids clothes. For my sims I often dress them more mature if I picture them to be more preteen age (first fits kit is perfect for this) and more childlike if I picture them to be younger since the transition from child to teenager is so abrupt in this game lol
I honestly never even considered this pack before and this showed me that it really has a lot of gameplay that I enjoy! Plus those hairstyles lol I do think it is related to having Parenthood though and wanting to round out the childhood possibilities
The kids pack is cute. They have a lot. I'd like to see them come out with a infant pack now that they have infants, preferably one with more clothing, hair and perhaps toys. I love Animal Crossing. Love it so much I played it until I was burnt out. I haven't played in awhile but still love it. Have you considered doing a Animal Crossing stream? That would be cool but I do LOVE your Sims one's. BTW, the packs are on sale for Playstation too, a lot are under $10 and $20. Some are $15.99 and regularly $39.99 but the sale for those end January 5th on the playstation store. Good for PS4 and PS5.
maybe i’m imagining things but i swear we have so many full body outfits for kids that have a flannel shirt and jeans I feel like so many packs include them
I would LOVE for you to review the Nifty Knitting pack next - I'm looking into buying it on sale but I know that there were glitches with the online store when it came out, so I'm curious if the gameplay has been fixed before I spend any money on it.
i like this pack. i use the cloth3es and most of the stuff a lot. ive used the puppet thing a few times when i can find a spot for it but ive never placed the critter video game thing cuz its just huge and you need space around it for kids to sit too so really it takes a whole room up and i nevver have that kinda space available.
I love this pack and still consider it one of the better stuff packs they’ve made. Would like to see a Kid’s Room II and maybe an upgrade to allow at least teens to do Voidcritters.
I don’t want likes but I just want to tell everyone that when this vid was posted, my mom passed the same day. This will always be a special video for me. Thank you Lilsimsie for being such an amazing person and I love all you do. I love you mom, pls come back!
I was making a house with a kid's room that was focused on VoidCritters in preparation of For Rent and I very much want another Stuff Pack or a Kit focusing on VoidCritters. I want more bedding, shirts, and other items focusing on VoidCritters. I love the lore expansion it provides.
Like the kids festival in Snowy Escape, they have a void critter hunt that can get you a little reward if you complete it. It was not easy to complete.
Watching this while shiny hunting Totodiles in the Terrarium agreeing "Yes, water starters *are* the best starters". I just wish adults could play Void Critter's too! I'm almost 40 & still play ffs!
I genuinely thought it was just posters and a bed, I had no clue it had such cute gameplay! I already own Paranormal and Nifty Knitting, and I just bought myself Discover University for Christmas :). Whenever I decide to get a new pack, this is at the top of my list. I'm a really gameplay-oriented simmer and there is NOTHING to do with kids. I WILL be buying Kids Room Stuff
As a teacher I can confirm that kids these days definitely still dress like that pack portrays lkazejlaezkj. The ones that don't are usually dressed by their parents from head to toe xD
Yesss literally this 😂 Kids Room is the clothes kids choose, First Fits is what their parents buy. I still remember I wore a highlighter pink turtleneck, poofy skirt, leggings and Mary Janes. And now 90s fashion is coming back at last! If only I hadn't thrown away my baggy red cargos 😂
YES EXACTLY. First fits is what the parents buy no question ask. And the turtleneck with the overall dress that Kayla mentioned as "adult wear"? THEY ALL DRESS LIKE THIS. I wouldn't have enough fingers on my hand to count the number of kids that dressed like this before the holidays in my 2nd grader class and my collegue's. That's without counting the older and youngest classes. Hell, kids where bell bottom pants nowadays and i used to wear those too 20+ years ago.
Wait… I’ve owned this pack all this time and never knew there was a kids game you can get them to play? That makes the random void critters make sense!! 😅
5:00 I think this is one of the best items in the pack!! Right next to the 6:05 shoes with one of the greatest swatches of all time!! I WIIISH adult category could have them, they're phenomenal!!
If you sell the duplicates you can make back money to buy new packs tho cause they seem to sell for the same price. Another thing I would try is see if you can just gift or give other kids your duplicates (not just trade them) that way you make sure your kid friends have voidcritters too so you can play with them, cause I wonder if they just have the one randomly assigned card by the game. And IDK maybe this way you make sure they have more of a collection too like your sim.
I love collecting all the things, so my Sims always collect the void critter cards, which I display and then decorate with all the other voidcritter merch throughout the packs. Even I never place the battle station.
I did the "bundel and save" feature on the EA app during the holiday sale for the end of 2023. the "bundle and save" feature makes you buy 1 Expansion pack, 1 Game Pack, and 1 Stuff Pack for less money than buying them seperatly. During the holiday sale, the "bundle and save" feature got me 1 Expansion pack, 1 Game Pack, and 1 Stuff Pack for like $6 more than what an Expansion Pack normally costs!
I am so glad to hear I'm not alone in collecting the Animal Crossing amiibo cards! I actually have the whole set, aside from some random Japanese exclusives. Working on the old e-reader cards next. ;) Thanks for the fun video, Kayla!! I'd forgotten about a lot of this pack's stuff.
It's about time the Stuff Packs are on sale more, and I'm scratching my head about why Luxury Party has never been free. But for years, the Stuff Pack were NEVER on sale. Now the Kits are never on sale. Why not? It's all just content in varying amounts! Break down and put a Kit on sale for gosh sakes. I remember when this first came out, Andrew Arcade built a whole Void Critter Community Lot and had like a Void Critter Olympics with all different Clubs and such. He really went ham on it. It was fun to watch.
As a fan of both Sims and Pokémon, I love having my Child Sims be Voidcritter Masters. Also, watching this video made me realize I haven't been playing with the Child life stage much recently; most of my Sim families have Infants and/or Toddlers rn. But sooner or later those Infants and Toddlers are gonna age up...
thank you, this has so many things i had forgotten about or never really noticed/understood before. i will use more from this now. also i also love animal crossing.
I wish they would stop age locking the games 😅 like plenty of adults enjoy what would be considered "children's (card) games", introducing younger relatives and their kids like interests can grow with you 😅
The clothes and the room stuff reminds me of all the things I wanted as a kid 😂! I would love to see them do another kid centered stuff pack! Maybe like a daycare/after school pack.
Honestly, Kids Stuff remains one of my favourite stuff packs! I use so many of the items in most of my kids rooms and I love having them collect voidcritter cards and trading them with friends and siblings :) Still not a massive fan of CAS tho lol
We all have items that we particularly hate in The Sims 4. For me, it is the bookcases in this pack. I hate them. I hate them with a fiery passion. Everything inside them is so ludicrously oversized, and the colors are so unrealistic. I just cannot stand these bookcases!
People would probably pay with the voidcritter stuff slightly more if the cards were given as Winterfest gifts. I know my sims used to get that 3d video gaming station all the time, and I used it sometimes only because of that. In general, games (ping pong tables, foosball, etc) as gifts would be great. It's hard to really play a kid in a family with lots of younger siblings, but I'll try the voidcritter stuff in my only child families that I don't play too often...
I forgot about the romantic garden hairstyle that has a bow, too. Now that it's free, I looked at it again and it's pretty similar to this one... kind of...
The two types of clothes are “kid dressed themself” and “parent dressed their child”, which is fun for storytelling purposes
I also use the more “adult” styled clothes to make them feel like “preteens”
I like to use the puppet show on community lots. Fits in more at a library or rec center than a house
I was thinking the puppet theatre would be a great addition to a community room with For Rent. Like, if you’ve got an apartment with a lot of kids? That would be so lovely
My sister and I used to have a little puppet theater set, I actually kinda miss it 😅 but yeah, definitely more likely to be found in community spaces
it would be a good addition to her 100 baby house!
Thanks for the idea. I just got Kids Room Stuff for Christmas and was trying to think of things to do with it other than just putting the objects in my sim's house, which I will be doing too probably.
I also like to put it in elementary school from Zerbu's Go to school mod. It works similar to high school from HSY but for children.

i like this pack. i use the cloth3es and most of the stuff a lot. ive used the puppet thing a few times when i can find a spot for it but ive never placed the critter video game thing cuz its just huge and you need space around it for kids to sit too so really it takes a whole room up and i nevver have that kinda space available.
20:19 my favourite part of the whole video! Your collection is really cool
I was making a house with a kid's room that was focused on VoidCritters in preparation of For Rent and I very much want another Stuff Pack or a Kit focusing on VoidCritters. I want more bedding, shirts, and other items focusing on VoidCritters. I love the lore expansion it provides.
I love this stuff pack! I like combining it with Snowy Escape, because that has voidcritter poufs and beddings.
Like the kids festival in Snowy Escape, they have a void critter hunt that can get you a little reward if you complete it. It was not easy to complete.
So now we need a "can you get rich quick with void critters" video
omg i had a pink camo matching set of pjs that i wore in a lot of photos! funny to look back on
Watching this while shiny hunting Totodiles in the Terrarium agreeing "Yes, water starters *are* the best starters". I just wish adults could play Void Critter's too! I'm almost 40 & still play ffs!
Ive been trying to figure out what sims stuff packs to get, i was thinking abt kids room stuff so i love this :D
All my sims kids wear the kids stuff pack sneakers. I love those shoes so much.
I use this pack a lot.
i think the puppet show item would be so cute in a library kids area
Does it suck? Probably a bit.
Are people still gonna but it because they are family players? Yes.
I know this may just be me being childish, but I wish adults could play with Void critters too 😅
I think the activities would be fun to add to a Library lot so there's actually a reason to go there
I genuinely thought it was just posters and a bed, I had no clue it had such cute gameplay!
I use the hexagon/honeycomb shelf for the snow globe collection (3 of them = 15 perfect slots for the whole set)
Just to let you know the reason why the void critter had different items was different types. it was fire water air and earth types!
Wait… I’ve owned this pack all this time and never knew there was a kids game you can get them to play? That makes the random void critters make sense!! 😅
@Kayla - we should review all the collections in The Sims 4.
3:35 I get what you mean! i like to think of it as "when parents dress their kids" vs "when kids dress themselves"
And IDK maybe this way you make sure they have more of a collection too like your sim.
stanley voidcritter master rag to riches when?
I use the puppet show thing all the time. For awhile it was messed up and everyone would constantly play with puppets but I find it so adorable
I love collecting all the things, so my Sims always collect the void critter cards, which I display and then decorate with all the other voidcritter merch throughout the packs. Even I never place the battle station.
I just bought this pack because my sims in my legacy challenge are about to be kids and I felt like i needed new kids stuff
Perfect pack to buy if you like family gameplay and now when it is on sale
I love that little puppet theatre and I give it to SO many kid sims but then I forget to have them use it. 🤦🏻♀️😂 It’s so cute when they do though!
Its giving Potter Puppet Pals
I wish they would add preteens there’s just a big gap between child and teen that we really need an in between for it.
I'm gonna be real I don't think I could live without this pack, there's one wall poster that I use literally all the time
I really enjoy watching your videos. Can you make a video about Animal Crossing? I like this game so much!
Literally just bought it cuz
1. I have wanted it for awhile
2. It's on sale
3. I LOVE the pony with the bow
4. I LOVE the butterflies
I wish they would stop age locking the games 😅 like plenty of adults enjoy what would be considered "children's (card) games", introducing younger relatives and their kids like interests can grow with you 😅
This is crazy because I just bought this pack
Watching this I’ve just realised this is the only stuff pack I don’t own yet! Thank god for the sale hahah
The clothes and the room stuff reminds me of all the things I wanted as a kid 😂! I would love to see them do another kid centered stuff pack! Maybe like a daycare/after school pack.
Honestly, Kids Stuff remains one of my favourite stuff packs! I use so many of the items in most of my kids rooms and I love having them collect voidcritter cards and trading them with friends and siblings :) Still not a massive fan of CAS tho lol
me: getting excited for this review
also me: getting this confused with Parenthood briefly.
Thought they were the same pack
Also, why don't we have voidcritter costumes for kids?
@@BadaBing511 That one full-pajama outfit has one Voidcritter swatch but that's about it :{
We all have items that we particularly hate in The Sims 4.
It's hard to really play a kid in a family with lots of younger siblings, but I'll try the voidcritter stuff in my only child families that I don't play too often...
i missed this series! :D
I've had that pack forever and never knew about the card game play. Going to have my kids get into that soon
I forgot about the romantic garden hairstyle that has a bow, too. Now that it's free, I looked at it again and it's pretty similar to this one... kind of...
