My craft ice doesn't look like what the ads show. The balls have huge dimples in the top and bottom and are clear only on 1/2 the ball. The worst thing is that the craft ice maker won't keep working. Tech was out 8 times in 6 months for this fridge. You should show pictures of what the ice really looks like. I bet you wouldn't sell very many of them.
@@DocNo27 The 6 setting means it makes them faster, not smaller. So the ice is less clear. Mine has never made fully round ice always little death stars...
They should do a recall for any people who have issues. You spend a lot of money on a. Fridge and read it brakes all the time or doesn’t work. That’s bs
We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.
@@DocNo27 then buy a fridge that does not have the "slow craft ice maker" that you don't want -- turns out, there are a lot of those non-craft-ice-making refrigerators around
@@colinsmith4377 Bought the fridge primarily for other features. The previous version didn't have the craft ice maker - if they made it optional it would make everyone happy. Despite them stating that it isn't swappable, I found a service manual and there is a normal icemaker part for the lower ice maker as well as the craft icemaker. If it ever comes into stock I will probably take a chance on swapping it out. Several online parts places have excellent return policies so it will be relatively low risk.
Sounds petty, but we paid a lot of money to have this feature. So here goes: Our craft ice takes FOREVER to produce. When it does finally produce the ice is not a full sphere. The top portion is missing. Sometimes almost all the way to half way. What's the fix here, LG??
Did you drop the freezer temp as recommended in the owners manual to increase production? Also how's the water pressure to the fridge? If going through an reverse osmosis (RO) filtration system you might have to put a booster pump or permeate pump on it to boost the RO output pressure. Partial cube is most likely some sort of water flow restriction.
@@JenniferLopezVlog I think it would work better for longer since there won't be nearly any calcium build up. Unless the water softener also dramatically drops your water pressure or flow too. Filling for icemakers like these generally work off of timing (open valve, count to 5, shut valve, etc.) and if there isn't sufficient flow/pressure that's when things tend to "go sideways".
Our water line keeps freezing. I replaced the ice maker once. It’s been 3 weeks since replacement and now the water line is frozen and no ice. What do I do
I spent $2000 on this in February 2022, mainly for the craft ice. As of 2023, with the warranty expired, this product is still flawed. Complete marketing BS. It is completely useless you want to call for service every 3 months.
Can this be added/bought and installed to my LG Thin Q Ice & Water system with wifi? Just bought a brand new refrigerator with the works and even has ice make in freezer on bottom drawer. Can we buy this separate and install it and take out the new/old one. Just bought fridge 2 months ago at Home Depot and didn’t know about this option, ughhhh
The design is flawed. It breaks within 1st 2-3 month. You will most likely end up give up service calls and not using this feature. Don't be tricked by this marketing video.
I Dropped the freezer temp to -1 degrees and it started producing craft ice. I also reset the craft ice maker. There is a button on the bottom of the icemaker press it and make sure to have the bin that holds the craft ice under the maker, you should get some not so round ice for the first batch. My fridge makes three spheres every 24 hours after I dropped freezer temp to -1 degree.
@@DocNo27 Figured it out... sorta. I went down to -4 and it made 10 or 12 then stopped, then I called LG and they told me to bump it back up to 0. Now it's producing ice balls-a-plenty. Thanks!
@@marcoperez4712 3 24h lol it is ridiculous failure for lg. I think it is good to buy but now come to think about it. We should get far away from this thing.

I've found when I set it to make 6 balls it shows the dimples. When it's set to 3 in the app, it's better looking.
@@juanf1984k That's what happened with ours too. Has anyone ever got six smaller balls? I think the whole six vs. three thing is worthless.

They spent more money on this ad video than actually investing it into a decent ice maker
This Craft Ice maker works for a few weeks, then gets stuck. I had it replaced 3 times in the first year alone. Its a flawed design.
My LRFVS3006S craft ice tastes like rubber/chemicals while the ice & water in the door taste fine.
Craft ice is pretty, but impractical. Hopefully there is a kit where it can be swapped for a normal ice maker.
These fridges have two ice makers, one for craft ice and the other for regular ice
