This might sound crazy, but will tinting the instant view cause damage to the glass? The light in my kitchen makes the glass see-through and is prefer not to see inside unless I want to. And I totally would have bought the non instant view model but it isn't available right now.

I just got my set-up today [LRMVS3006D]; how long does it take to start making ice?

@@Motown1966 ANNNND it was D.O.A. too. This is a piece of junk - stay away from LG! The unit never reached the minimum temp of 36*F but the actual inside temp reading of 48*F! It NEVER made regular ice cubes...just ice sheets. The craft-ice balls were half hollowed-out spheres, the water dispenser took 25 seconds to fill-up 8 oz of water. The unit has had the compressor changed & now is dead in the water with repeated sealed system leaks! Totally disgusted!

LRMVS3006S (s meaning stainless steal vs D meaning black stainless steal) but stay away from this at all cost unless you purchase this from a reputable store like Lowes, Home Depot, Sears that will exchange or offer refunds for lemons. I'd purchased the LRMVS3006D model back on September 6, 2022, it was delivered on the 12th but could not get set-up until the 17th as our front storm door frame was too small. Had to remove the storm door to allow for the depth of the unit (31"). We also had to remove the wood trim from the kitchen/dinning room doorframe to the exact reason. So got the unit set-up on the 17th and made the call to LG on the 21st regarding the inside temperature slowly rising from 41*F to 48*F. A repairman was dispatched only to declare it was a compressor issue w/o actually running a diagnostic test. Long story short, the refrigerator got deemed unrepairable by the 27th!
