I owned a 2019 before trading it in for a 20' RKS. But I went cross country on it but never got more than 140 mi. I can say I did 920 miles on it in 16 1/2 hours straight. And I would not do it again. My wife said why don't you go ahead and do the last 80 miles before you come home so you will have done the Iron Butt. Nope, not interested...went straight home.
These were the exact 2 models I was looking at before I got my Harley... for me, I went with the Fat Bob! I just love the look!! So aggressive and rides like a beast!
I been riding the Fat Bob 114 for about 3 years now and I love it.. I take it on long rides (12 hrs, a day) and it carves up mountains like a sport bike. It is my daily driver and is set up perfect from the factory. Small tank you get used to quick and those are definitely street tires no matter how they look. I have tried other rubber but nothing hangs onto the pavement like those OEM Dunlops. Just my opinion and experience.
I just returned from my local dealer and test road the Lowrider S. Being an ex '93 and 94 FXR and '03 Road King owner, I have to admit I was impressed enough that I am considering a purchase. Handling, brakes, suspension, were way better than I had anticipated. The Lowrider checks all the boxes for my 25 year old brain, trapped in a 71 year old body. I don't care for the looks, fat tire, or graphics on the Fat Bob at all. I also currently own an '18 Triumph Speedmaster 1200. I love that bike and will keep it. Nice comparison video, thanks
Lowrider S is still too traditional boring Harley cruiser. The FatBob is very untraditional Harley, super mean looking, much more comfortable to ride than the Lowrider, wider handlebar for better leverage and countersteering in corners, front end feels much lighter and transitions better than the Lowrider, awesome LED headlight, more neutral upright riding position, big fat awesome tires soak up all the bumps and uneven pavement, preload adjustable on the fly..did I say that the FatBob is very Non-Harley and a fresher styling And.....those factory gold heat shields, amazing, you can put your hand on them after a ride and just slightly warm is all, no more burnt boot rubber with the FatBob exhaust Love my 2021 FatBob
Yeah I think a lot of people would agree with you on that. I like the styling of the FB personally just prefer the looks and feel of the S a tad more. Luckily for us, Harley gives us options!
I love the Fat Bob, I ride a 2018 Fat Bob 114. I love the chunky front tire and the drag bar. It's a beast fore sure. Turns heads everywhere I go with it.
I bought a 2021 LRS as my first Harley. As soon as I saw photos of the 2020 model year pop up I knew I'd have one in my garage. I didn't think it would be so soon. Inverted front forks, dual disc brakes, a ton of torque, and that beautiful all black finish were just a few reasons I picked it. The Fat Bob looks amazing, just not my cup of tea. As someone that went from a Yamaha R3 as my first motorcycle, to the monster that is the LRS, I could not be happier with my choice of first Harley. Being someone that is used to leaning the bike over from my small cc supersport, the LRS feels absolutely fantastic on a twisty road. As for comfort, I'm not sure why so many people say mid controls are uncomfortable. The LRS has a fantastic factory seat, bar position and foot controls. Within a week I put 700 miles on the bike, with a 250 mile trip one day. Yes, I am excited to have the engine guard installed that has rubber foot holds to stretch my legs once in a while, but mid controls are the only way I'd go. Awesome content as always mate. Cheers and ride safe.
Bought the fat bob after riding these back to back because it was more comfortable on the 10-15 minute test ride. Regret it 100% after owning it and wish I got the low rider s. 30 mile commute each way to work, gotta fill up on my way home every 2 days. And that super comfortable riding position? Is destroying my tail bone after more than 25 minutes. new seat? Sure, for about $450. Change to mid controls? Sure, for about $800 after buying all the parts for the conversion. Bar change? Never looked into it, because the reason for buying it was comfort, not to spend thousands past the 20k price to get it right.
I walked my gf into the dealer to look at the S for her and she fell in love with the fat bob quicker than she did with me. Loves the brass accents, headlight and tire. On the fence with the green or black paint.
I bought the Low Rider S. I personally like how I sit on it more. Especially with the handlebars. I've put 2,200 miles on it this month and can't complain one bit. I wanted a bike that would let me pull into the turns with ease. After driving the Fat Bob I did notice a slight need to counter steer more than I did with the Low Rider S and when I'm just driving along that comfort mattered to me. Plus Mid controls on that bike made the sale. I'm one of those people that don't need to change much and don't want to have to change it. I just want to enjoy the ride. Also I hated the look of the pipes and where they were positioned on the Fat Bob. That was my main complaint with it. The bigger tank on the Low Rider S definitely made the sale that much easier
All very valid points. I rode that 122" Lowrider S they build and it was awesome in the mountains. All stock except the motor work. I'd like a seat and bars but not anything I'd have to do right away.
I couldnt decide between the two for about 6 months watched every video I could find. I think Id have been happy either way but I went for the fat bob in the end as the chunkier look and 2 up from stock ticked my boxes
I'd be happy with either, always like the mid controls and curious which one suits taller rider better. That being said the Fat Bob has won me over for nearly a decade now and keeps getting better with each year. It's an instant classic IMO.
The fat Bob is the performance soft tail. Should come with mid controls that Harley offers as a new option. Also, sport performance tires should be on the fat Bob. If Harley would use some aluminum and carbon fiber, weight could be below 600 pounds which would help acceleration, braking, and handling. I love the Fat Bob. Almost bought one but went with a KTM Super Duke 1290r. TFT dash, stability control with IMU Standard with TC/ABS. 180 horsepower/104 pound feet torque, 460 pounds.
I absolutely love the Fat Bob look! But I ended up buying the Low rider S for the larger tank and classic look. I chose black for the color because I felt the crimson was too muted and did nothing to add to the look of the bike. It just didn't pop in my opinion. In my perfect world I would have lost my head for the midnight Blue, but it was not to be (sigh)...
I just bought a Fat Bob. This is my first Harley and the fact that it doesn’t look like every other Harley definitely influenced my decision. Also, I am pretty tall and would have had to put forward controls on both the Low Rider S and the Street Bob at significant additional cost, whereas the Fat Bob fits me perfectly. This video did help when I was doing my initial research!
The one thing that really puts me off the Lowrider is the rear light - I know it's a modern take on classic rears but it just looks weird sticking out so far. Both of these were on my shortlist but I chose the Bob in the end.
My choice in bike was a bit hectic. Right after I passed the Harley New Rider Course, I went in to see the stock at my local dealerships once. Then I found a manager's special on the 2021 Fat Bob I was eyeing on the pre-owned stock online. Another guy test drove it, and left as soon as he saw me talking to a salesman about the bike. Came back the next day, the same guy came in an hour after me, and another guy came in after him. I didn't want to let this Billiard Red Beast go so I beat them to the signing line. It was hard buying a bike just to test ride it, but since then, I have no regrets, LoL!! Fat Bob with the fat front tire, adjustable monoshock, and futuristic headlight FTW!!
Ive been searching & digging what kind of bike I want. So many to choose from, and it will be my first bike. Nonetheless, thanks to you. You sold me on the fat bob. Thank you for being well detailed and opinionated when reviewing these bikes. You definitely helped me out a lot sir!
Fat Bob has the best look and was the easy choice for me personally until I heard the tank size, don't want to be the reason a group ride has to keep stopping when everyone else is hitting half to a quarter tank still. Hopefully they will increase the tank size to 5 gallon next year!!
Last year I would have said the Low Rider. However my son bought a Fat Bob, and it is fantastic. I have to say the Fat Bob. I have grown to love the look and ride. The adjustable suspension is huge as well! (Of course, I actually prefer my Road King above all!)😉
Picking up the ‘21 Fat Bob, Billiard Red. Being a sportbike guy this one fits more my style. Looking forward to mods and making it my own. Nice review.
@@throttleblip9854 I’ve had Kawasaki ZX-9R, BMW K1200R, Kawasaki ZX-14. This will be my first cruiser. I’m going with TAB Performance slip-ons, stage 1 tune, S&S mini teardrop air cleaner. Various trim bits from the Harley Dominion line, Saddleman seat. Eventually stage 2 S&S cam chest do over. Full Horsepower Inc. exhaust.
I have switched to Fat bob from my 2017 low rider S ✌️ I HAVE RIDING FAT BOB FOR SIX MONTH NOW , ITS AWESOME 👏, just love in it Greetings from Tokyo 🎌🏍 Nice presentation 🤙🏍🇺🇸
My friend bought the 22 lowrider S and I bought the 22 Fat Bob. They are both amazing bikes but for me I liked the aesthetics and riding position of the Fat Bob so thats why I bought it. The Lowrider S is beautiful and classic and the Fat Bob has a more unique look. I am absolutely in love with my Fat Bob purchase and would do it again. However, the 22 Lowrider S now comes with a 117 motor which I am a little jealous of but overall I will again and again choose the Fat Bob. Personal preference is huge when it comes to selecting a motorcycle and I fell in love with the Fat Bob.
That means more than you know. I'm truly blown away how much traction the channel has gotten in such a short time. I created it Jan 5th of this year. Thank you for the kind words.
I agree with Anthony. This is great stuff. Really good clear narration, informative info, and personal thoughts are awesome. Like we're all in the parking lot. Keep on keeping on! ✔
The Low Rider S does have an adjustable shock like the Fat Bob does, only it is under the seat. Yes, it is not convenient, but it is adjustable as well. Love mine.
I would get the fatbob, I've always loved it when it was a dyna and more so now cause it looks more like a trouble maker. I would set this bike up to be a heist job bike
Thanks for video! I just rode both of these bikes yesterday at Barb’s HD Demo Days and they’re both fast and quick with great handling. However the biggest difference for me was the forwards on the FB felt very comfortable while the mids on the LRS was very uncomfortable and cramped up. For reference I’m 5’11”.
I just purchased a 2021 Low rider S in midnight crimson. Optional premium seat. Leather saddle bags. When it gets here I will order a chrome sissy bar with luggage rack.
I like the beefy look of the Fat Bob, but that small tank is definitley a turn off. I had the same thoughts on the Breakout. My Yamaha Stryker has a 4 gal tank and I wish it had more. Hate worrying about having enough fuel. One ride I went on, I almost didn't have enough. Out of these two, I'd go with the LR S.
Every once in a while there is a Sportster riding with us and someone carries extra gas for them. I won't say how because its not exactly safe or legal but it works. haha
I have a 08 Fatbob and a 2021 Low rider S. I love both bikes. I have been on a new Fatbob I did enjoy it. Both bikes are awesome to ride. I ended up going with the low rider S.
A customer has a bike in service with that setup and it does look pretty rad. Definitely how I'd set one up if I had it. Also have to do bars, not big on the drag style bar looks wise although it doesn't feel too bad.
Right. I wasn't clear about the fact I meant the external adjustment. One seat screw isn't a huge deal and the wrench is provided but not quite as easy as the external.
I have a 2019 FXLR, it's a good motorcycle. But I test rode a Fat Bob, and it's a very good handling motorcycle. I don't really like the beach bars on the Fat Bob, with some 10" risers or pull backs would give it a badass look. I'll vote for the Fat Bob.
I'm dying to do that one, at the moment they don't have a standard or a 21 street bob on the floor but as soon as they do I'll definitely do that. That review was much closer in 2020 when the SB had a 107.
Brand new rider, here. I’m buying my first bike in the beginning of May and I’ve never been so torn between two things in my entire life. The Fat Bob is what first brought me to Harley Davidson. I absolutely love the Bobber, Mad Max look of it! I haven’t seen anything else like it. But then I started digging a bit more and saw the Low Rider S in the new sand Pearl white paint job and fell in love in love with it as well! The Bob is definitely a head turner, but the LRS has the bigger tank and the 117. I highly doubt I’d notice much, if any, difference as a new rider, but I simply can’t decide. Help me!
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the Low Rider S does have rear suspension adjustment……you just need to remove the cover under the seat to get to it….
I forwarded THIS video and your great and well thought out video review comparison of the new Sportster S and the Sportster 1200 to my brother-in-Law in the UK who’s is comparing the 4 bikes for Purchase…..he’s getting back into the saddle after 30 years of absence…..I told him to ride all 4 before making any decisions. He suppose to test ride a new Sportster S next week if it gets delivered to his local dealership in London which is Warr’s Harley Davidson.
It’s kind of hard to talk about anything right now since Harley Davidson has released the new Sportster S. The revolution max engine is a standard that HD can not keep suppressed, they have to build on this engine technology going forward.
My wife and daughters all love the sportsters it’s a great beginner bike it’s just built for greenery and women mainly. But men should not be seen on a sportster ! Unless your in the rainbow biker club
I love my fatbob, the power and maneuverability are spot on but the one thing I dont like is the smaller tank which eventually I would like to upgrade but aside from that I could not be happier.
@@FireZAT88 My recommendation when choosing a bike especially if its your first bike is to test ride them all, my dad told me when I started shopping for a bike "its the bike that chooses the rider, not the rider that chooses the bike." So I test rode a lot of bikes and ended up getting a street bob as my first "starter" bike and I could not have been happier, although I test rode several others and that one just felt right to me. The one thing I will say is dont get suckered into buying a street 500 or 750, although they are not bad bikes by any means they dont pack much power and once you get comfortable riding youll want to upgrade to a bigger engine, any of the sportsters are awesome picks, and the softal slims as well as the fatbob and street bob are great choices as well but ultimately it will be up to you and what feels right. Hope any of this helped and im super excited for you to start riding and be part of the community. Stay safe out there brother and keep both wheels on the ground. ✌
Agreed! When the low rider s was a dyna it was one of a kind from harley. It was the best bang for buck they had to offer, and was very unique to their other bikes. Now it’s just another softball with a different paint job :(
It Fckng cracks me whem guys change the fat tire on the bob with a skinny one and the lights with the round one,.. save your self some money and get the Lw rider or other models with classic regular look, Leave the Fatbob for customers who like fat tires and finally a welcome change on the hd light. lol
Hey bro. When I purchased my 2018 fatbob there was no lowrider. I put a round light and skinny rim to make it a LRS before Harley manufactured it in 2020. Some people modified their bikes before Harley made the huge cash grab and released the FXLRS.
@@MrMann-gt1eh because the softail platform was disliked by Harley supporters and the softail line was not selling very well. They released the FXLRS to change the minds of every dynabro out there. And it worked.
I will go with the lines of the Low Rider S also prefer the bigger gas ⛽️ tank and wheels 🤟🏻 but would like to see a comparison between the Low Rider S and the Breakout 114
Will be picking up one of these bikes in 2 weeks. Cant decide but leaning towards lowrider s cause of mid controls, smaller front tire, and the 117 and guage on the 22
Fat bob for me! I love the headlight and I love the fat front tire and it’s a chunkier looking bike which I like. I would just lower the front and rear about 2 inches and it’s perfect 👌🏽👍🏽
I thought the Fat Bob had taller suspension at the back with more travel compared to the low rider s ? If so would that make it a more comfortable ride ?
3.6 gallon tank just plain sucks. Factory forward controls just plain sucks. Reminds me of the FXDR (another failure from HD). How can you put forward controls on a sport oriented motorcycle? The LRS wins in every category and still remains true to what a performance cruiser should be. The only personal thing that I do not like about the LRS is the high console on the tank. Looks a little to metric.
I love the Low rider S. However… you put a 2017 or older fat bob in front of me, id prefer that. I just can’t get on board of the box headlamp on these new models
I had the first 1977 Lowrider and was my favorite of all Harley's iv'e owned and currently still have my 2005 Wide Glide EFI and made some modifacation's to it a 2008 Fatbob stock passenger seat and a set of 2009 Fatboy 17" chrome dish rims and a front Fatboy fender. I wish my Twin cam 88 was carborated instead of injection because it definately sounds better but all in all the Lowrider is my favorite next to the 1982 Sturgis.
Uhhh, the low rider S definitely has the same adjustable suspension. Only difference is that the fat bob is easier since it's on the outside and on the low rider it's under the seat. The low rider comes with the tool. I adjusted mine on my 2020 low rider S.
I didn’t have to take my reflector off, it fell off. I have reflectors holding my plate on, so it’s not a problem. The side plate moves, so it doesn’t bother me. My wife never rode on the back of my sport bikes but enjoys the FXFBS. Fat Bob for the win, I don’t think I’ll ever find a better bike for me.
I chose the fatbob I loved it’s performance, not to mention we all went to a BBQ with a thick sand road yes there was a low rider in the group and the fatbob with the big dual sport style tires was like an enduro compared to the other bikes having all kinds of issues
The price of these compared to some alternative bikes are crazy. Take the fat bob, over in the uk prices start from £18,000 standard new. No rider modes, no traction control, no cruise control, no heated grips, no passenger back rest etc. i test rode the fat bob and did love it, but i could fully kit out for example a triumph speedmaster completely with everything listed above including panniers, upgraded seats, power accessory all in for £13,500. HD are way off the mark in the pricing range imo. If i wanted the same on the bob would be looking at roughly £20k.
I'd have to go with the Fat Bob. I currently own an 01 FXDX, the bike that started the whole club look. Honestly, the Lowrider isn't that different looking than my bike. Of course, the tech is much better, but still, they are rehashing a 20+-year-old look. Not that that's a bad thing, but I would just want something that stands out. The small tank is a negative, but I think you're getting much more for your money with the Fat Bob and the resell value will be much higher IMO in the future. I can see Harley Axing the Fat Bob in the next few years like they did the FXDX. Hell, I can sell my 01 for 8-10 grand right now. Can't say that about too many Harleys from the early 2000s. I see the Fat Bob going down the same road.
I just bought the fat bob today cause I love the big tires they make the bike look much more cocky and the low rider side by side just looked like a his and her bike fat bob of course the his bike. ..but I do have to say it resembles the Yamaha vstar way to much ,even feels like it when you sit on them. But the power is phenomenal, almost need a seat belt to hold you down or weigh 400 lbs
I have been waiting for this exact "vs" ..... awesome, thanks! My mind has been set on the Lowrider S as my next purchase, but after this review and looking at them longer side-by-side I think I may have to go with the Fat Bob. I actually like the big front tire and and the front end. That said though, your last comment on the Fat Bob maybe being mistaken for something other than a HD gives me a little hesitance. Is that Fat Bob still on the floor?
Yeah its funny that I was leaning more towards the Fat Bob but spent more time looking side by side and started leaning to the Lowrider. They do still have this one, I was just in there today.
If you want a bike easier to control and maneuver you might wanna go with the Low Rider! The skinnier tire makes it easier to get in an out of corners! And they both have the same suspension in the front! Both inverted forks!
i’ve always wanted a low rider s since i work at a harley but for some weird reason i ended up with a fat bob and i love it, 2 in 1 exhaust with 8inch risers seems to do the trick for me since im 6’0
I scratch my head every time people complain about the smaller tank vs the bigger size. Most people don’t ride 150 miles on non touring models. My ass hurts around 80-100 miles. So I’d be good.
Choosing the fat bob is a no brainer for me, I would likely though, ditch the existing handle bars for mini apes. Also, Harley needs to have some wind protection for it.
I know I'm late to the game... But I went with the S. The Fat Bob styling is just too divisive for me. Plus I have wanted a Dyna S for so long, when the time came and I had to choose between new bike money for a used Dyna with no warranty, or a brand new bike for the same dollar... It was a no brainer. She still needs a name, but she's a great ride.
I was looking to buy my 1st Harley and my eye was on the Fat Boy. Then 2018 came and the new Fat Bob came out... I was like WHAT! lol I had to have the Fat Bob, Nov 2018 the 2019's were out and got my 114 in Bonneville salt Denim. I still have it and I still get a woody ever time I ride it or even just walking bye.
Great job on comparing the 2 love the idea of comparing similar bikes looking forward to see alot more as well as would love to see u riding them as well
I'm dissapointed that at this price point and time, both bikes still have non led lighting on them. I prefer everything about the Fat Bob except that small tank. Because of that alone I'd have to go with the Low Rider, though If I was buying one today, it would be the Sport Glide for the luggage.
as far as variables in things like torque and horsepower can easily be changed with one tooth in a gear or the change in the size of a pulley or sprocket
I went with the FatBob to be different and I actually love the look just the way it is. Owning it for 6 months I don’t regret my decision.
Awesome to hear. What color is yours?
@@throttleblip9854 it’s the gloss black model 2020.
You can go 165 miles on a full tank of gas on the Fat Bob. It’s usually time to go to the bathroom and get a drink by then.
Extremely valid point! Haha
Ive gotten over 200miles to my tank on my Fat Bob S 2up travelling with my GF. But most my tanks are 120-140miles ripping backroads.

I chose black for the color because I felt the crimson was too muted and did nothing to add to the look of the bike. It just didn't pop in my opinion. In my perfect world I would have lost my head for the midnight Blue, but it was not to be (sigh)...
I love the Low Rider S in midnight crimson! That color is a game changer!!! Is my next bike! Greetings from Spain!✌🏾
Same! And I normally don’t care for colors. Black, Grey, Silver, White. Hahaha. Definitely digging the Crimson though.
I like it too I've got the 2020 so I can just paint it because that's literally all the changes they made to the bike lol!
And the low rider s does have an adjustable shock in the back you've just got to remove the seat!
Could you put a Lowrider tank on the FatBob. I'd get rid of those drag bars and add a set of Zbars. Definitely replace forwards with mids.
FatBob. Like its more rugged looks.
So glad to hear that it helped! Enjoy that bike!
How tall are you? I’m 6“1‘ tall and added the forward controls to my fat bob. Now it fits perfect for me.
The one thing that really puts me off the Lowrider is the rear light - I know it's a modern take on classic rears but it just looks weird sticking out so far.
Both of these were on my shortlist but I chose the Bob in the end.
Yeah I can see that. It does seem like on 2021 they have the tech and would have the design idea to streamline it.
Old post but I think the same I’m currently looking at both if the low rider s had the fatbob rear end it would be 100 time better
(Of course, I actually prefer my Road King above all!)😉
these two were the exact bikes I was looking at for my next upgrade from my Iron and couldn't find a decent side by side. Thanks for this. Subbed
Thats great to hear. Thanks for the love!
Both bikes in these colors are in stock! Come see us!!
Lets GO!
I would really like you to compare the 2021 Lowrider S vs. 2021 Breakout
Picking up the ‘21 Fat Bob, Billiard Red. Being a sportbike guy this one fits more my style. Looking forward to mods and making it my own. Nice review.
What do you have planned for it? What sport bike were/are you on?
@@throttleblip9854 I’ve had Kawasaki ZX-9R, BMW K1200R, Kawasaki ZX-14. This will be my first cruiser. I’m going with TAB Performance slip-ons, stage 1 tune, S&S mini teardrop air cleaner. Various trim bits from the Harley Dominion line, Saddleman seat. Eventually stage 2 S&S cam chest do over. Full Horsepower Inc. exhaust.
I have switched to Fat bob from my 2017
low rider S ✌️ I HAVE RIDING FAT BOB FOR SIX MONTH NOW , ITS AWESOME 👏, just love in it
Greetings from Tokyo 🎌🏍
Nice presentation 🤙🏍🇺🇸
I have bought the Fat Bob, for me the bike with the better look and much better seating position.
My favorite “new to me” channel on YT. I enjoy the content man! Especially this type of review. Keep up the good work!!
I like your style!
Got the Fat Bob and honestly love my bike so much it’s been a year and I love it more and more everyday
NICE!
Great video. With a fairing and two into one exhaust the fat Bob looks wayyy better IMO
A customer has a bike in service with that setup and it does look pretty rad. Definitely how I'd set one up if I had it. Also have to do bars, not big on the drag style bar looks wise although it doesn't feel too bad.
Fat Bob 100% for me, it just looks awesome. but I do like them both but the fat bob just looks more different in my opinion.
The FXLRS rear shock can be adjusted for added weight. It is located under the seat.
Right. I wasn't clear about the fact I meant the external adjustment. One seat screw isn't a huge deal and the wrench is provided but not quite as easy as the external.
@@throttleblip9854 agreed 👍🏼
I have a 2019 FXLR, it's a good motorcycle. But I test rode a Fat Bob, and it's a very good handling motorcycle. I don't really like the beach bars on the Fat Bob, with some 10" risers or pull backs would give it a badass look. I'll vote for the Fat Bob.
I’d like to see the Softail standard vs the street bob
Help me!
I wouldn’t recommend either for a new rider. Just my honest opinion.
Put some time on a shittier bike. (I started with a triumph).
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the Low Rider S does have rear suspension adjustment……you just need to remove the cover under the seat to get to it….
That's right. I should have been more clear about that.
I love fat bob aggressive look, probably will be getting one soon. Thanks for the review
Unless your in the rainbow biker club
i get 200 miles on a tank of fuel on my fat bob 114. love the bike. had it almost 2 years now
Yeah honestly unless I'm in a hurry, I like to stop every 150-200 miles too.
I love my fatbob, the power and maneuverability are spot on but the one thing I dont like is the smaller tank which eventually I would like to upgrade but aside from that I could not be happier.
Do you recommend fat bob for a beginner rider?
No question if your goal is performance. Lowrider S with longer shock (or shock extension), true mid controls, pipe, and a tune.
I chose between these exact 2 bikes and bought a 2021 Fat Bob. It looks more masculine to me and is just bad ass.
Nice man! Enjoy it!
Fat Bob is the winner for me, but wish the pipes were blacked out versus gold.
Fatbob for me, it is the most unique bike Harley has. I like bikes that stand out.
That's fair!
Agreed! When the low rider s was a dyna it was one of a kind from harley. It was the best bang for buck they had to offer, and was very unique to their other bikes. Now it’s just another softball with a different paint job :(
Lowrider S rear shock preload is adjustable aswell.
It Fckng cracks me whem guys change the fat tire on the bob with a skinny one and the lights with the round one,.. save your self some money and get the Lw rider or other models with classic regular look, Leave the Fatbob for customers who like fat tires and finally a welcome change on the hd light. lol
Hahahaha I haven’t seen that yet but when I do I can’t wait to talk to the man that would do such a thing. Lol
Hey bro. When I purchased my 2018 fatbob there was no lowrider. I put a round light and skinny rim to make it a LRS before Harley manufactured it in 2020. Some people modified their bikes before Harley made the huge cash grab and released the FXLRS.
@@gisoid why does it have to be a “cash grab” and not just “they made the bike everyone missed”?
@@MrMann-gt1eh because the softail platform was disliked by Harley supporters and the softail line was not selling very well. They released the FXLRS to change the minds of every dynabro out there. And it worked.
Fatbob looks cool and its nice to see a bit of a style change however the pipes are too quiet ?
I love the Fat Bob. My favorite bike and hopefully my next bike.
Make it happen!
@@throttleblip9854 I’ll try and make it happen. Working at the dealership my employee discount will help when I get my next bike.
I will go with the lines of the Low Rider S also prefer the bigger gas ⛽️ tank and wheels 🤟🏻 but would like to see a comparison between the Low Rider S and the Breakout 114
If the Fat Bob had a bigger gas tank i would buy it tomorrow. Lot of love for the Low Rider S too. Greetings from Spain.
I like the Fat Bob headlight as well. So I was wondering could you put the Fat Bob headlight on the Lowrider?
i own a 2018 Fatbob. I was hoping you would choose the Fatbob, but its cool. Both are beautiful bikes.
I purchased a low riders, just the classic looks and great handling sold me
same
You made the right choice between those two..... Even down to resale value the LRS is the better HD to buy.
Will be picking up one of these bikes in 2 weeks. Cant decide but leaning towards lowrider s cause of mid controls, smaller front tire, and the 117 and guage on the 22
That's the one I'd get man. There is a good reason it's so popular.
@@throttleblip9854 No doubt about it. Can't believe there's so many fatbob lovers. Especially now with the 117.
Fat bob for me! I love the headlight and I love the fat front tire and it’s a chunkier looking bike which I like. I would just lower the front and rear about 2 inches and it’s perfect 👌🏽👍🏽
Oh and change out the ugliest thing on the fat bob THE EXHAUST!!!
I want both but I can only buy 1.
I thought the Fat Bob had taller suspension at the back with more travel compared to the low rider s ? If so would that make it a more comfortable ride ?
It is taller. Fat Bob has a bit more room for taller people as well.
Which one of these would you say handles better. Better through corners and side to side
Great information! I was in limbo on these two bikes until you pointed out some of these great differences. I’m going to get a fat Bob!
Glad I went with the Fat Bob!! Love it!! Mine is all blacked out!
Passenger pillion, easier to adjust on the fly suspension and not everybody has one. I'd take the fat bob!!!
All good reasons. Especially the last one.
Hey mate. Has you opinion changed on these 2 in 2022? About to throw some
Cash down this week and can’t decide between these! Cheers.
Fat bob is definitely is my choice but I do like both.
Just test rode a fat Bob. It's a really nice looking bike in person and rides really well. Great comparison video!
i’ve always wanted a low rider s since i work at a harley but for some weird reason i ended up with a fat bob and i love it, 2 in 1 exhaust with 8inch risers seems to do the trick for me since im 6’0
Both bikes are gorgeous, I still can’t decide
Would love to see the Softail Slim in this review!! So sad Harley discontinued such a beautiful bike!!
I scratch my head every time people complain about the smaller tank vs the bigger size. Most people don’t ride 150 miles on non touring models. My ass hurts around 80-100 miles. So I’d be good.
Very true. They weren’t going to buy one anyway so now they have an excuse for why. Hahaha
Choosing the fat bob is a no brainer for me, I would likely though, ditch the existing handle bars for mini apes. Also, Harley needs to have some wind protection for it.
On the HD website there’s no Low Rider S. There’s a Fat Boy… Did HD discontinue them?
I know I'm late to the game... But I went with the S. The Fat Bob styling is just too divisive for me. Plus I have wanted a Dyna S for so long, when the time came and I had to choose between new bike money for a used Dyna with no warranty, or a brand new bike for the same dollar... It was a no brainer. She still needs a name, but she's a great ride.
I totally understand. I've loved the S since 2016.
Absolutely love the fat bob, however the tiny fuel tank is a complete deal breaker. Can’t stand constantly having to fuel up.
FXLRS does have adjustable preload, it's just under the seat.
Great job on comparing the 2 love the idea of comparing similar bikes looking forward to see alot more as well as would love to see u riding them as well
Just sold my Fat Bob. What a great bike. I’ll probably buy one again in a few years.
What year was yours?
@@throttleblip9854 2020. Switched to a bagger. But that fatbob was a blast!
@@TeensierPython Love my 2019 Fat Bob but toying with the idea of switching to a bagger myself. What did you go with?
Had a road glide special. Just sold it last year.
Going to pick up a low rider next.
Mainly because I miss my softail.
Low Rider - it's still pure Harley aside from the headlight addition
