Glad to see your comment right off the start, that it needs a long crank, i just replaced the gasket and panicked when it didnt start during my first 10 attempts .. Even tried priming with ignition key lol
The wiring loom has red silicone all around it... how can I apply silicone without losing any parts inside the head? Is it easy? (Like will components of the wiring loom fall in or need to be tightened from the inside?) Thanks
Maybe you shouldn't do it if you don't know how to do that 😅. Just put a small bit around it don't go crazy wit it and let it go off before starting engine
Sayeed Khan NO it won't fix it (probably you have already fixed it, but others may be interested). If you have to crank long, that means your tandem pump is releasing the fuel during engine stops. You have to disassemble the whole fuel-vacum pump and replace all the sealings inside. Full repair kits are available but be aware, same car models can be equipped with different type of tandem pumps (LUK or Bosch)
@@wolforla good day, could i ask.pls.. i have some problems with my mk5 golf 1.9tdi first start of the day is cranking very long, and just from 3rd time the car starts after i am keeping cranking, this happens just first start of the day or after like 5 or 6 hours the car been in parking.. the rest of time it starts very well, can this be the issue of that? It's the rubber insert that allows the plastic vacuum hose to snap on to the pump spigot. This inboard part of the pump provides the vacuum for the brake servo chamber at the master cylinder. The outer chamber of the pump is a fuel pump.

I have rebuilt my tandem pump but the battery not strong enough for a long crank. So maybe that's what I need to do, because it won't start. I've got fuel to it for sure, but no start. Ok this gives me hope.
@@_Brendan__ cranking the tandem pump empty can kill it. Lucky my battery was near dead. The solution is to jump the fuel pump under the back seat using a battery trickle charger. Run the pump for 30 secs to prime the tandem pump, then it'll start.
No, it's not normal. I haven't had that issue but If I was you you can undo it with an Allen key then apply some thread seal/blue thread lock to it to prevents leak and it coming loose again.
bleed is good but i make without bleed. I just started 1 minute nothing 2 minutes nothing 3 minutes nothing ana 4 minutes it already started. and it starts nicely until now
Ariel Pezaku If you don't wanna drycrank your fuel-vacum pump, it's a nice idea to fill it up with diesel fuel, when it's bolted on it's place again (before re-connecting the fuel lines). These pumps are highly sensitive parts of the car, I do not advise you to drycrank it for any minutes :)
My car is Golf 5 1.9 Tdi Bls Motor. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it works hard. If I press the gas when it is working hard, it works immediately. It usually does it when the engine is warm. What could be the problem?
Hello. I have the same issue on my Golf 1.9 BLS. When Car is cold has good vacuum and it responds immediately when pressing the accelerator. When it warms up it is very lazy and i can see the turbo actuator does not have good vaccume and it is not pushed all the way down as it should. Have you found the issue on your car?
