      As someone with extremely hooded eyes I LOVE THIS! I love that even when you close your eyes it looks great unlike the usual hooded eyeliner tutorial where you have some weird wonky AF looking line. Anyway already subbed been looking for a makeup channel that actually teaches me about how to do my makeup!!!! And the grungy green and brown looks great!💚🖤

    Finally someone on TH-cam who ACTUALLY has hooded eyes! My fold goes all the way past the outer corner of my eye and I haven't seen anyone else with that and it was beginning to give me such a complex! Like to the point I was so discouraged I never wear makeup anymore because all of the people I've seen who claim to have "severely" hooded eyes, only have like a minor hood. Bless you 💜

      @@AnnettesMakeupCorner ain't that the truth! And the few who DO have slightly hooded eyes, the skin still seems fairly firm and easy to work with. I'm only 27 but my hoods are very loose and crepe like and sometimes shadow skips across the skin making wrinkle like patterns. I tell my nonhooded friends my eyes are uncircumcised 😂

      I have a navy jumbo Kohl. A thicker pencil or Kohl liner will literally force you to make more exaggerated lines. It's also much more forgiving because a Q tip will easily soften or remove product. After that, you will remember the shape and hopefully duplicate it with any eye product you want.

    Honestly with hooded eyes, we just have to experiment. I feel like every time i watch a tutorial for hooded eyes they never would work on my specific hooded eyes (plus my eyes are super uneven/asymmetrical. The struggle is very real). I noticed a lot of people have far more top space/space under their brow than i do for these tutorials. I hope this works for a lot of people but for me it wouldn't work 😭

    • @AnnettesMakeupCorner

      I was like “I wish I could do a cut crease” and someone goes “let me try! I can do anything on anyone.” They went to do the “crease” of the eyeshadow and was like “your brow??? Is so low??? Why did you lower your brow???” That’s just my brow bone? With my natural brow? Like??? I have hooded eyes and a low brow bone. It’s great when attempting new looks

    • @swesttttt
      @swesttttt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jaxon Adams Yes! I have a super minimal amount of space between my brows and the eye, because they’re so deep-set. So I have a prominent but narrow brow bone, then the hood... it’s hard to find a good daily eye look, much less a more ‘glam’ one!

I'm so happy I have found someone else practicing this method. You explain it well and make it look great, so it also gives me courage to actually wear it outside soon, since I've only been wearing it at home in the evenings as trial runs, before taking all of my make-up off. I love this type of video. My eyes are so round that winged eyeliner isn’t an option for me, but I’ve discovered there are many other cool things I can do as long as I work with my eye shape instead of trying to follow what everyone else does. That’s why I like this video so much, even though my eyes are not hooded it still teaches me something. I have a small request, everyone swatches the Clionadh eyeshadows, but there aren’t many creative multichrome tutorials. I’d really love to see what you can do with them and as they’ll restock on November 4th I’m kind of hoping to see a good video, so I know what to pick up once they have all of the shadows again. If you don’t have the time I completely understand, but I thought I’d give it a shot and ask.

    • @AnnettesMakeupCorner
      @AnnettesMakeupCorner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! Its so important to do looks that work with YOUR eye shape, and not what everyone else does. Im sue there are youtubers with your eye shape too that you can get tips and tricks from!
      As for the multichromes, I think the reason there arent 'creative' tutorials with them is because they just perform the best used on their own. theres no trick to using them, just slap a color in your crease and a multichrome all over ur lid, or blend it out without a crease color. Its what I've found to work best!
      Check out badtothebrow, she did a full eye swatching video with a bunch of the shadows

    • @Sue-pn7mq
      @Sue-pn7mq 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Annette's Makeup Corner I’m usually not happy that u can’t blend upwards, but in this case a big moving lid might be handy as I have enough space for more than one. I’ve seen one tutorial with two per eye and that looked amazing, which is why I asked. But I wonder with hooded eyes you might not see enough of the shift if you do that?

    • @AnnettesMakeupCorner
      @AnnettesMakeupCorner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with using more than one shade even if you have a lot of lid space is that you need the curvature of your lid in order for the color shift to show. If you put two colors on, it wont have enough surface area for the light to hit it it different angels. You actually can blend them out in their own. At least the Clionadh ones. They have kind of a black base, so when you blend them, it almost turns into a black-ish matte, its really cool! It obviously wont work as well on hooded eyes since people will only see it when u blink or look down. Check out Hannah Louises video, it was really cool to just watch her play with them!

      Annette's Makeup Corner Thanks for all the help and for taking the time to reply and give me advice, that’s really useful. I’m going to pick them up from the post office today and can’t wait to start playing with them. I might see if I can make use of my extra moving lid space and make them look good by putting one above the other as that will keep the shift. I also got my Glaminatrix shadows the other day and absolutely love them, thanks for recommending them.

    Literally how I've been doing mine for years🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have seen other hooded eye liner tutorials and A LOT of people have learned to do it that way too!!! Its like geographical evolution, where two completely different species in two completely different parts of the world end up evolving into basically the same exact thing (like Green Tree Pythons and Emerald Boas!!). Us hooded eye people have all evolved to do the fish hook barb thing (that's what I call it!!). Of course not everyone has so I say the more hooded liner tutorials the better!!!!!!!

    • @scotzmnswife
      @scotzmnswife 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@amypanddirtytoo1926, it looks a little different to me. Not so much of a fish-hook shape, but does indeed look like a whale-tail flipping out of the water when the eye is closed. The fold of my hood has always gone lower than my water line. There is NO WAY to do a winged liner with such an eye shape unless you’re going for a VERY extreme, goth kind of look.
    I just want others to know that. No shade toward the video, it’s great and certainly very helpful to many people.
    However, there are us, who’s eyes are too hooded for any winged liner and that’s okay.

    • @AnnettesMakeupCorner
      @AnnettesMakeupCorner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I realize with my tutorial, just like every other tutorial Ive watched for hooded eyes that it really depends on exactly how hooded someones eyes are. Sorry this doesnt work for you. I came across a video about genetics and hooded eye shape a year or so ago. Although the video had nothing to do with makeup, it stuck with me. The narrator mentioned some famous people with very hooded eyes and he mentioned Blake Lively and Jennifer Lawrence. I Googled them both; Blake Lively makeup, Jennifer Lawrence makeup and I had an epiphany makeup moment. I saw that there are beautiful women with beautiful makeup who have hooded eyes and don't do certain makeup looks because of it. It might sound so trivial, but for anyone with very hooded eyes, you'll get it.
