Fossil Hunting | Walton-on-the-Naze | Jurassic and Cretaceous | 66 Million Years Old

- On the coast of Walton-on-the-Naze Stephen and Yhana go FOSSIL HUNTING for Jurassic and Cretaceous period artefacts - The fossils found along this coast are between 66 Million Years and 200 Million years old.
Ammonites lived during the periods of Earth history known as the Jurassic and Cretaceous. Together, these represent a time interval of about 140 million years.
The Naze in Walton is famous for fossils and its one of the best locations in England to go fossil hunting alongside The Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

😂😂 Yhana won that race for sure, lol 😂 it’s a very beautiful stretch of coastline and those little cottages are beach huts. They sell for thousands. It’s like a shed by the sea 🌊 lol 😂 they are often painted beautifully and make for great photography. A big thank you for watching 😊 Stay safe and keep well you two 😌

@@TeamLynchBMD very cool, I think they are lovely. I wouldn’t mind hiring one for a few days. As it gives you a great base for hunting. Even a safe place to keep our metal detector too. We never got a chance to detect the beach, but you guys defo crossed my mind whilst I was down there ☺️😊

What a beautiful sandy beach, on a beautiful sunny day, to start off. Yhana is too cute. LOL, the dog video-bombing at 3:57 is hilarious. Did you plan that? What a good haul. The petrified wood, shells and sea glass were cool, but the ammonite was amazing. What a perfect day, playing in the waves and looking for treasure!
I didn’t plan to be photobombed by the dog lol. That happened a few times actually, as it’s a popular location for dog walkers. But we had a lot of fun filming this video. We are going to go again. Possibly in the autumn / winter as the rough seas help with uncovering fossils.

Hey buddy, thank you kindly. The petrified wood isn't that attractive sadly, but interestingly you can see the wood texture, which is very cool. I like the ammonite too. I'm hoping on my my next find to discover a sharks tooth. That would be very cool 👍

I like collecting sea glass, we are not to far from the Suffolk coast either, so I might just give that a go this summer 😉😊

I never knew that was fossilized wood. Such a cool think to do.
Some of that fossilised wood still shows the bark inside, turned to stone now off cause. There is a lot of it on that beach, so doggerland - The sunken land bridge must have been covered in huge forests. I’m not sure how long it takes for wood to petrify - I think it’s debated. But I did read it can happen quickly if covered in water very quickly and trapped beneath a layer of mud. These pieces are not attractive to look at, but the texture is so cool. 😊
