you clean the filter 3-4 times per day... and test the water 3 times per day...is that really what you have to do on a regular basis? I would not call that low maintenance...
NO, not normal. we live out in the country and have well water and our water has a lot of iron which turns the water red/orange and the only way out it through the filter. Chemical are balanced perfectly.
I have this pool and just bought a sand filter, this little filter isn't strong enough to filter the water. Might be OK if you use flocculant and have a good vacuum

You've had it four days and had to already scrub the bottom? Is cleaning the filter 3-4 times a day normal? Looking at buying one from Aldi....
You need chemicals. Chlorine etc otherwise it will just get slimy and green
