      Why go bald? To sound like Chris? I think Chris sounds bad, honestly. He might have tons of flexibility, agility, techniques etc etc, but he just doesn't sound like a nice voice. This video made it abundantly clear...the differences between the two are obvious and Chris just sounded...I'm sorry but he just sounded cringey. Whereas the other guy's tone was super cool throughout.

    • @EchinoStarefish
      @EchinoStarefish ปีที่แล้ว

      @@poweredman Lukas is also bald lol why go straight to Chris? Also I don't think Chris is focused on having amazing tone, doesn't he primarily teach? His technique is way more important to get across than a good sound, and people should expect to have a tone that doesn't sound amazing while they're learning anyway. Not seeing the problem, it's kind of relatable

    • @poweredman
      @poweredman ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EchinoStarefish Because it's Chris that mentioned being bald is what does it. And sure, okay, I buy that. If you're a teacher you don't have to sound good bu I think he thinks he sounds good but that doesn't mean we shouldn''t mention it when it is so obvious and he makes it so apparent.

    • @EchinoStarefish
      @EchinoStarefish ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@poweredman maybe so, and of course if you don't like the sound of his voice that just is what it is. I'm starting to believe the bald thing though, Victor Borba's stuff on TH-cam is great and he went bald pretty young lol (3 whole examples versus literally every good singer with hair)

    Something I've been fuckin with recently is making myself enunciate as little as possible( while still saying the word and not sounding like garbage). I find that for me this does 2 things. First, it lets me be relaxed and speak freely way more than I honestly thought was possible. And pretty much AS a by-product of being relaxed, I find it much easier to compress. Thank you, this has been my Ted talk

    Lukas clearly has the chops and tone dialed in for his genre. It's really impressive. But, I have to give you props Chris, you sound like yourself whereas I think Lukas's sound could easily be confused with a variety of metalcore, emo, pop punk, and other 2000s post-grunge style vocalists. It's great hearing both of your styles and what influences shine through.

    I've been using the scale from your "Foolproof Daily WARMUP for Singing High" video and ascending it chromatically. My comfortable range is about a whole step beneath yours and I do well starting in either Bb or A, depending on the day. I chromatically work my way up until I can get a D5 for the high note. What's cool for me about C and D is I can sing 3 octaves of the scale because I can almost always get a D2 pretty consistently. Nice to see the tie-in in this video.
    Lip trills/bubbles work the same way as humming.
    Throwing my voice higher isn't something I do much at all. I'm not actively involved in music anymore but do sing in the car etc. I'll add throwing in and see what kind of discoveries I can make from that. Another terrific video Chris (and Lukas)!
