I bought my tickets from All Nippon Airways (ANA) which is one of the top airlines in the world. I paid $700 and it included meals and travel insurance. My plane to Japan ended up being a Pokémon themed plane. The plane from was Star Wars themed. The food was amazing and they had video games built into the monitors.
I did seven days at Walt Disney World and seven days on the high seas at Halloween cruise on the fantasy and my ticket and everything I did except for food cost 3850.00
That is absolutely not true I am not rich and I am retired and I save my money carefully and I plan carefully but you know what money comes and money goes my children and my vacation is way more important than all that crazy nutcase worry about money money money the world is so concerned about money yes I understand being careful but when it comes to a good time this family is going to have one instead of caring and worrying about every nickel and every dime not only rich people act like that so for you people who think you know it all take a vacation you need one!! Like mrs. Tracker said the people were wonderful and things were much cheaper than they thought so you know what live it up honey your on vacation!!
I went for a month at end of January through end of February, I went for the snow and festivals and it was by far the best trip I’ve taken. It might have been the most expensive thing I’ve ever done, but I’d do it again in a heart beat. I’m so glad I upgraded my flight, as a tall guy the extra leg room/ space it was definitely worth it. Also most brand hotels have rooms with multiple single beds, or one queen, or one king.
You mentioned it was a sort of shock coming home due to the friendliness in japan, but me coming over to orlando from the uk, its a shock how friendly everyone is in florida!
I went to Tokyo disney in March this year and it was sooooo busy. We went during spring break. All the queues were 2+ hours. It was extremely cold for our family(46 degrees F) and it was cloudy. My cousins friends went the week after spring break and the rides were walk on.
I do have to say Tim and Jen this trip to Japan was some of the best vlogs you have put out for us viewers in my opinion. Love that you are getting more subscribers so you can travel more than just Disney Orlando and Universal in Florida. You both do such great jobs as vloggers. Soothing voices, fun, informative, descriptive, love for your viewers as well as love and respect for each other and the people around you. Hope to see more trips maybe more cities in Florida or Georgia, Savannah historic district could be nice. Just a thought from someone that thinks of you both as one of my favorite vloggers. Also thanks for breaking the cost down for your Tokyo trip for us travelers. Looked like a fantastic time. Take care.
Flying within USA- check Southwest Airlines. And if you buy their tickets keep checking back every week because they have flash sales; and then u can first book new flash sale and then cancel original tickets. Note if you have a rewards account you get refund credited to to it for future use without expiration time. Or if you upgrade to next level before buying your flash sale tickets you can get a refund.
Thank you for sharing your trip planning and experiences while at Disneyland Tokyo. I haven't ever had a desire to travel there and now I am telling my husband we need to go! :) You guys are the best!
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! My mom and I have recently talked about going to Japan for the parks. This makes it seem much more possible!
I recommend going in October! We went for 10 days at the start of October, the weather was beautiful and they Disney parks were very quiet! Trips to Japan are expensive but 100% worth it!
Warning from a teacher in Japan!!! March is kinda like a mini summer vacation. All schools are completely off for pretty much the entire month. I would HIGHLY discourage from visiting at that time since the parks will be SUPER busy. Better times to come will be end of February (right before March) or after the first week of April once school starts up again 🙂 Also fun fact, schools are in full swing in June and majority of July. June is rainy and July is hot but parks will not be very crowded since kids are studying 🙂
I loved your Japan vlogs! I have wanted to go to Japan for years. I never had a bucket list before, but now Japan is #1 on it. This was informative and will play a part in my planning.
The price you paid overall is not bad considering that it can cost up to and over $2000 per person to fly in just economy seats. When I went two years ago I got lucky to get economy tickets for $650 round trip per person. That was also during golden week too. I’ll have to try like you did and go in the middle of May when I can go again.
@@samuelgonzalez2924 Gotcha, just wondering. We had to cancel our first WDW trip this year, and then the cruise we booked further out when we thought it might be safe again. Like you, I think we'll wait around for 2022. 😅 Good luck to you! I hope you can cross them all off of your bucket list soon!
We just did Disneyland Paris. We booked similar ways to you. My mom always stays on site but the price was so affordable off site that we were able to spend 4 days in the city of Paris. Now we really want to start saving to make a Tokyo trip, thanks for the ideas and tips!
March isn't bad at all and the crowd levels are perfect!! I currently live in Japan with my husband who is in the Navy. I'm sad I missed you guys, I was at the parks a few weeks earlier. You keep my spirits up with all of the Disney updates that I miss so much!
When I was living in Thailand and flying home for visits, I usually flew China Eastern with layovers in Shanghai. I flew a different Airline one time with a layover in Beijing and I was not fond of that airport at all. I always encourage people to leave their comfort zones and travel and I'm really glad you guys did. When I returned to the States, I was very culture-shocked. I absolutely loved being in Asia and I can't wait to get back there!
In regards to purchasing your Disney park ticket online. I ran into the credit card issue too but I just called my bank and they authorized the transaction. So when I tried to purchase it again it went through the second attempt. You just need to contact your card company. I bought my Disney Sea tickets for April 😊 Super excited!
Nicely done guys. A little advice for your next trip. Half of the Japan Airlines (JAL) flights from LAX to Haneda and back are operated by American Airlines. When I went in 2017, the ticket through AA would of cost me $750, but I paid $550 booking the flight through JAL. The JAL web site will show you which flights are operated by AA. Tokyo Disney Resort used to pre sell their tickets online. The first 3 times we visited we were able to pre purchase them and we just took our printout and pick them up when we got there, but since 2015, we couldn't do that anymore. 2015 also marked the first year I started booking AirBNB for my Japan trips. Edogawa is close to Disney and we took the bus to and from the parks every day. It was also nice because we stayed in a nice neighborhood and got to get the local experience. I've stayed in Edogawa twice already and just love the area. Staying in an apartment gave us more room to move, we were able to cook a couple of times and it came with a WiFi hot spot with unlimited internet that we were able to take all over with us in case out T-Mobile lost a connection or just got too slow. I do plan to stay at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel at some point. The place just looks amazing, but I do hear the the Disney Ambassador Hotel is a better deal price wise.
Holy moly- Jen looks SUPER model-like in this one! Makeup, hair, shiney-eyes on point D: You look great, too, Tim. Your makeup is on point too, Tim. (really great video! Thanks for the information!)
Thanks so much for sharing all this info! It’s very generous of you to take the time to share so much. It’s a bucket list trip for me, but I’ve enjoyed living vicariously through you guys for now :)
Loved the info on Toyko Disney. Want to plan trip in future. I would not have thought about going, but you guys made it sound amazing. Again what a cute couple. It seemed that Jen’s eyes were glistening.
Visited Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea years ago on business a couple of times and it was amazing. Definitely a bucket list item to repeat with my family. And met Tim at the Toy Story Land Preview - a terrific person in person!
This was so incredibly helpful!! I definitely have more realistic expectations now for my bucket list Tokyo Disney trip! Your vlogs helped me convince my boyfriend, who is terrified of international travel, to one day visit! We’re both so excited now. Thanks Tim & Jenn!!
I loved this video! I love watching your channel because it’s fun and you guys offer a unique perspective on theme park news. But would love to see more videos like this.
I'm planning a Shanghai, Hong Kong, Japan trip and I also want to see the cities so it's definitely going to take a few years to get the time/money together.
Thanks for the video! Hoping to plan a trip for me and my daughter for her graduation trip! So thanks for the helpful info! Love you guys! Thanks for feeding my Disney addiction!
Thanks for all the great tips! One thing I learned going to England and Ireland was you get a better exchange rate for cash by using the ATM in the airport in England and Ireland. Just don't forget to let your bank know that your traveling so they don't lock your ATM card up when you try to use it. Thanks guys for the great videos!!
I live in Tokyo and would recommend coming in October. My best friend visited then and got a direct flight from Chicago for $700 inc tax and fees. The weather was also pretty good (sometimes hot). If you have any questions, please ask! I’d love to help you guys have an even better trip next time!
Kelsey Amour I’d say any week would be okay. The closer it gets to Halloween the more crowded it’ll be. My best friend came October 8-15. We didn’t go to Disney but went to Universal Studios Japan and had a blast!
This reminds me of when my husband and I went to Paris for 10 days in May and we did Disneyland Paris - which is great! Wait times are low and the experience was great. We spent about the same amount of money total, and stayed in the city center
Japan is awesome I lived there for 2 years back in 1992 to 1994 and I loved it so much. It is very easy to communicate there because they want to learn English. I also went to Disneyland it was so amazing to go there. It looked different when i was there they didn't have the cover over main street yet. But i do remember it being so clean. Disney sea was not there yet. So i didn't get to do that. I hope to go back someday. Your videos really made me want to go back. Thank you. They were great
With regard to getting cash for a foreign country, I have found that sometimes the best rates can be achieved just by getting cash from the ATM in that country. Granted, your bank may charge an international transaction fee and an ATM fee, but depending on the amount you take out, you could save a decent bit of cash (Even more if your bank doesn't charge such fees or has a partnership with certain foreign banks to allow you to use their ATMs). But if you are wanting to have cash ahead of your arrival, getting it from your bank is usually better than the exchange kiosks.
Great info. Starting preliminary planning for a trip in 2022, including hopefully Universal Osaka. I need to crack out my college Japanese texts and see if I remember any of it after 20 years. We will have to go during the busier summer time though, due to school. Any trip there is better than none though. Loved the videos of the parks too. I looked away when you had some ride videos.
Hello Tim! I was just wondering if you would be able to do a video tour of MCO like you've done for all of the Disney and Universal resorts. I picked my sister up from there once and it's can be a pretty overwhelming place. About lost my car even though I parked very close to the terminal. Might not be the easiest thing to do, but I think many people who are travelling in for the first time would really appreciate it.
Also agree, when I went last month I stayed 2 nights at the hilton tokyo bay and 2 nights at the Disneyland hotel... save the money and stay at the hilton. The Disneyland Hotel just isn't worth it.
I had the same thing with the anxiety about language barriers when I went to Disneyland Paris. My French isn’t amazing and I was on my own, but once they realise you aren’t French they switch to English. I really hope to go to Tokyo one day. Thanks for the advice on booking.
I think visiting Tokyo Disney during the change of events eg. end of Halloween (end of October) into Xmas time (early November) is a good time to visit as you get to experience both events in one week. Avoid the weekends. During Halloween and Christmas the parks are decorated soooo beautifully, have outstanding parades, special food items and the cutest merchandise ever. The Japanese guests dress up during Halloween time and their outfits are AMAZING to see. I understand what you mean when you say you want to be surprised, but I also recommend watching TH-cam videos of others visiting the TDR parks, before you go, as you get so many good ideas from others. A bit of knowledge before is good to have... even after all our trips, we are still learning new things.
Omg thank u guys sooo much for this video. I’ve been wanting to start saving to go to Tokyo Disney but didn’t know how much to sAve and where to start. Thank you!! Now I can start saving !!
You guys are so awesome I'm going to use all your trip tips for Japan.. the Hilton celebrio... sounds amazing.. I have an honors card as well. We are booking 2020 so I hope things are still the same or similar to when you took your trip.. my daughter is already in Germany and I am flying San Francisco to Tokyo but then we are flying back to London and then taking the train back to her house for several weeks I'm feeling pretty grateful thanks again for all your smiles and happy and financial tips looking forward to the culture and politeness of Japan
Awesome thanks so much for the information. Great to get all the info form someone who as gone before. I really enjoyed all your Tokyo Vlogs, I am looking forward to catching up with tall your other ones. Was away and now I need to catch up! So will be binge watching them while I catch up on paper work!! :)
I like all the information. Still kinda scared to watch your videos from Tokyo in case I get jealous. :) Will watch sometime, I have them saved for later!
I can't believe you guys didn't do Universal Studios Japan! I went to Japan during September and the day trip we took to Osaka to go to USJ was literally one of my favorite days ever! They were doing HHN when we were there and we got to experience some of the houses during a normal day at Universal which was such a cool experience! We picked up a ticket during the beginning of the day that gave us a time to go back to the haunted houses without having to wait and once we were there, they sent us off into the house in a group of 6 with a bed sheet with knots that we had to all hold onto. They also had scare zones throughout the park which was such a treat for a HHN fan, especially considering we didn't have to purchase an extra ticket. The Hollywood Dream Coaster was literally the smoothest coaster I've ever been on & Space Fantasy was what we called the Japanese Mummy. Don't miss USJ when you go back!!! We got roundtrip tickets from Dallas to Tokyo for $550 each with Delta. We drove 7 hours from our home to Dallas and stayed with friends one night so we wouldn't have to buy extra plane tickets to Dallas.
If travelling from Florida to Japan, I recommend going through Chicago rather than LAX. Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airlines both have major US hubs in Chicago(ORD) and their pricing is very similar to what you can find through LAX. However, the flight from MCO/TPA to ORD is much cheaper than the flight to LAX
Hi Tim and Jenn .. My family and my self love your videos! If you don't already.. On TH-cam start watching only in Japan , abroad in Japan , and japanoligy..these shows give a great insight in to Japan.. Keep up the good work
Loved this--thanks! Someone might've mentioned this but yes, TDR does make you reserve *certain rooms* one night at a time. For instance, on one trip I was able to reserve five nights in one reservation for the Disneyland Hotel, but conversely a room at the MiraCosta needed to be booked one night at a time, the day reservations opened up. Making sure you book the same category of room each time means you can then stay in that same room the entire trip. But yes, the Hilton is much, much easier! It's true that many credit cards do not "play nicely" with online booking, but some do. I have a text alert set up on one of my cards and when I try to book something in Japan I'll get a potential fraud text, reply that it really is me trying to do it, and try again and it will go through. :)
Totally appreciate you guys discussing prices in this vlog/"podcast." 😉 A lot of people discuss planning trips without cost details and that is super important info! Loved the vid!
Thanks for the great tips! I would love to do this trip! Can I make one suggestion? Google flights is a great way to compare airfare prices and flight times.
I LOVED all the detail you guys put into this! I live in South Korea which is just a little hop over to Tokyo, I've been before but only spent one day in Disneyland, really REALLY want to do a longer trip and get to know land and SEA!!
Just discovered you guys and love the videos. I went to Tokyo Disney last March. I’m really into travel hacking so luckily I flew business class last year for about $300 round trip and I’m flying first class in May for about $350! I am staying at the Hilton Tokyo Bay too (stayed there last time) and it’s so great! I’m going right after Golden Week this year too so hoping the weather is a little sunnier than the weather you guys got!
Tim pro tip when I used to book my own travel Google flights searches everything and will even track everything for you. Multi leg layovers hotels etc good video
Thank you! very helpful. we planned very similar to you guys. What really suckered me in to going to Tokyo Disney was how comparable it is total price wise to Disney world. We cannot wait! May 2019!
I just love you guys, thanks for bringing some magic over the Pont! :) Maybe you can do a vid like this for Anaheim? It seems so much more expensive than Orlando :D
So helpful!! Really love the info about hotels and tickets! Like sometimes out of curiosity I've tried to look for at least a week package hotels+tickets and nothing came up!! I feel relaxed that it's not just me!! THanks guys! Loved it!
We went once March 23 end of March and it was great not to hot not to cold some days really hot. Second time went in October and was awesome! Nice warm weather some days very hot (few) and Halloween at Tokyo Disney was the best!!! We stayed in business hotel Villa Fontain and it came with breakfast and was really cheap and they have them all over Tokyo, however very small rooms!
Great video series. I have taken my family of four to all of the Disney Parks throughout the world and just went to Disney Tokyo during Christmas break. We stayed at the same place and loved the whole trip. Going to Shanghai this thanksgiving and flying round trip on United for $700 round trip per person. If you have any questions about the many other parks let me know.
when i went i paid 420.00 for a round trip during a black Friday deal (normally 600 is a good deal by them) and used Singapore air which btw is the BEST. We live in California though so that def helps save too. Went and stayed for 3 weeks and made the most of it, But wishing we spent more time in the Disney parks and visited universal , Universal Japan is really awesome...they even have a sailor moon ride lol.
Having just done a similar trip watching their planning video makes me feel better about how much we spent. 3 of us for 5 nights at Tokyo Disneyland hotel was $1600. And we had a view of the park from our room. And our airfare was $770 but that also included a leg in Shanghai and a leg in Hong Kong.
End of January to first week of March is the slowest time to visit Tokyo Disney. But it can be snowing and very cold. check out park hours and if it’s shorter than normal hours like 8:00-22:0 or 9:00-22:00, that means it’s slow day.
And if you stay at shinurayasu area which is right next to TDR train station called maihama station, it must get be cheaper. Only one stop farther. And train will be always running after park close. Also you get to Tokyo station straight. So it’s kind a convince!
my partner and i are planning on going to Japan for 3 weeks in around March/April 2019.. I think booking holidays our self will save us so much money... so far the most expensive thing has been the flights.
Use Sky Scanner when looking for flights as you can select whole months rather than individual dates and choose what dates are cheaper than others to fly on. It can save you a lot of money.
We stayed at the Hilton in Tokyo Bay and loved it. Perfect location. Also Jenn - your Dalmatian band looks adorable 😍 we went a bit merch crazy on our trip too.
I totally binge watched all your Tokyo videos this weekend. Such a fun trip! Great job showing the different experiences .
My husband and I spent almost $5000 on our last Disney World trip (IN to Fl) so I would say you had a great deal on this trip.
Hi Suzanne, how long was your stay and where?
I did seven days at Walt Disney World and seven days on the high seas at Halloween cruise on the fantasy and my ticket and everything I did except for food cost 3850.00
As long as you had fun and enjoyed it $$$$ comes and goes...we have to enjoy the now....Blessings
That’s how you get into debt.

Vacationing in Asia during Spring is the worst time of the year. That's when everyone is getting off for vacation over there.

Someone we know who has family in Japan and visits frequently suggested we go in late September/October. Do you recommend this as well?

'Never been, but would love to visit TD in 2019. If you had to choose the perfect week for weather and smallest crowds, what would that be in October?

You have covered a lot of info for people who want to go, well done Tim and Jenn xxx
Going in January for the parks and a cruise. Can’t wait
Thank you for this. We are planning a Tokyo trip and will def be doing Tokyo Disneyland so your travel tidbits are awesome. Thx guys!
I love that canned video music!!!! Makes me think of all Disney travel vids!
Spudeaux ...What a great idea!
Jen looks amazingly adorable and gorgeous in that headband!
Will watch sometime, I have them saved for later!
This is what we’re planning for next year!!! I’m very excited! Thank you for the helpful info !!
I was so curious about your planning. Thank you for sharing your tips and plans.
Definitely my sis and I are looking for a trip like this one!!! Maybe in a few years... but can’t wait!! Thanks guys!!! 😍😍😍😍
This was very useful - thanks!
I'm guessing the 4 days thing is to get new people in the hotel since it's popular.
Hi Tim and Jenn .. My family and my self love your videos! If you don't already.. On TH-cam start watching only in Japan , abroad in Japan , and japanoligy..these shows give a great insight in to Japan.. Keep up the good work
I can't wait to start planning for my trip to Tokyo.
Thank you for the informative video! Jenn, your makeup looks amazing in this video.
I live in Japan so every Winter Break we get to got to Tokyo Disney! I’ve been going there every year since 2015
Thanks for the great tips! I would love to do this trip! Can I make one suggestion? Google flights is a great way to compare airfare prices and flight times.
Love this vlog. Thank you for sharing your tips.
I can't wait for a mail vlog!!
You guys look great and sound fantastic!
After watching your videos on Tokyo, we now want to go.
I LOVED all the detail you guys put into this! I live in South Korea which is just a little hop over to Tokyo, I've been before but only spent one day in Disneyland, really REALLY want to do a longer trip and get to know land and SEA!!
I'd suggest spending 2 (or 3 max!) days at the parks, then spending more time in Tokyo, and going to Kyoto.
Always look at Southwest!! They arent on 3rd party sites and are almost always cheaper. Plus free checked bags.
Thank you! very helpful. we planned very similar to you guys. What really suckered me in to going to Tokyo Disney was how comparable it is total price wise to Disney world. We cannot wait! May 2019!
This is soooo helpful! Appreciate the video, I’ve been wanting to go to Japan forever! This was a good guide of what to do and references to use!
This is amazing! We're planning our Tokyo Disney honeymoon for next summer, and this was so helpful!
That was very helpful !!! Loved this type of video !
Was awesome seeing you at universal today Tim thanks for the selfie made my week!
I just love you guys, thanks for bringing some magic over the Pont! :) Maybe you can do a vid like this for Anaheim? It seems so much more expensive than Orlando :D
Great tips and also superb sound, this video would work great as a podcast episode!
This video is SO HELPFUL! Thank you for making it.
Went and stayed for 3 weeks and made the most of it, But wishing we spent more time in the Disney parks and visited universal , Universal Japan is really awesome...they even have a sailor moon ride lol.
thanks for this. we appreciate it! most people don't say how much it cost but its helpful and kind of makes it seem possible,
This helps so much!! We've been trying to do research on when to go etc. Yall are the best!
Hey I would love to see you two take a disney cruise
Thanks for sharing all of the travel tips!
you guys should go back to Tokyo Disney resort after 2022 cuz they are adding Frozen, Tangled, and Peter pan area (Plus another Disney hotel)!!!
