@@nevermind1904 For those who preferred fluff, they would feel that tgcf is much more romantic(nothing against it, I just preferred angsty story and Meatbun delivers). Meatbun described everything that's happening in the mind of both main characters so vividly in comparison to Mxtx who leave much to the readers imagination. Both were great but 2ha leave a great impact emotionally, every little details that were revealed later in the story made what you read in the beginning of it makes more sense. My favourite one would be the earthworms. I hate the ending but I also love the ending, Meatbun definitely gave him the best ending she could give.

Kictors friend expressions is the perfect mix of “disappointed but greatly amused” and the fact that he instantly knew kictors fave scene was the coffin scene was iconic 😂
Also when kictor was talking about the whole love (triangle??? V??? Square??? Who even knows anymore certainly not mo ran) in the book made me think kictor needed a whiteboard and spectacles so they could become a danmei professor and break down whatever shape that love hexagon is

21:52 2ha indeed is an action-comedy, more sexually explicit as we go further into the later volumes ...but I would say it leans more on the angsty side than anything else. Meatbun is famous for almost making her books a Bad Ending (BE). Mwuhahah, you're in for a ride in Volume 3. That will be the first angst. The beginning of it all. Totally loved this take with your friend!

I, within the last year, had a 2 hour drive where it was just me and my older sister. We had gone to a bookstore in a mall before heading out so i had manga i was removing the shrinkwrap on in the vehicle (not going to read them next to her, though) and she asked that question.
Queue a very long and in depth conversation that made us both understand each other much better. She still won't choose to read the stuff i have because it doesn't interest her, but she understands why i have a bit of everything in my library but have leaned more into the lgbtq stories in the last few years.

22:06 after you read more of the story it gets more and more romantic and cute. And also we start to see Mo Ran grow separated from his Emperor self. If he ever gives this story a chance I’m sure he’ll enjoy it, maybe skip the explicit scenes if he doesn’t like them, I think the first book and maybe a little bit of the second are the more loaded ones.
And the story, the plot, the humor everything is just amazing.

Kictor's guessing ability never ceases to surprise me. She was right about Shi Mei turning out to be the villain. 😂 I can't wait for her to reach the 100 layers of angst. I felt so bad for Mo Ran at times bro. Like imagine how horrible things were when he felt pain because of minimal loving gestures from Chu Wanning. Like the man felt pain from things that are supposed to make him happy.
Also fun fact: The reason why Chu Wanning smells of Haitang blossoms is because that's his origin. A haitang blossom tree.

I think there's a line where Shi Mei tries to gauge what does Chu Wanning think of the Butterfly Boned people, and he says without hesitation that "They're also human." Honestly if someone I looked up to was showing full respect towards people (who are seen as subhuman) and treating them as humans all the same, I would fall in love too 🥹

Your friend definitely didn't seem to eager after you gave him some info on the story. But no worries, 2ha is a long journey and there is a much deeper meaning as to why Mo Ran and Chu Wanning and the world they are in turns out to be the way it is. It probably will be very difficult to pursue anyone to try to read this full story based on just v1 and the story unfolds very slowly. The events from v1 and v2 are for setting the stage of something much bigger and mind-boggling that happens later in the story.

I love this and I love so much that you love 2ha (your friend is hilarious too)! It's my favorite and it's great seeing it get the love it deserves. One of the things I really like about it is that the sex scenes are probably the only ones I've ever read that have character development or reveal something about the characters that changes everything. And then when you go back and reread the whole series, and you KNOW certain things, it completely changes how you see everything. Meatbun is such a fantastic writer. ❤

I've read up to chapter...160 or so online.
After the trauma of the 3k steps, there is a book that chu wanning ends up reading that (if i remember right) mentions his endowment in passing. It was something like so-and-so is number 1, seen at the baths in this location, so-and-so number 2 from gossip from nighttime partners.
I can't remember exactly, but i don't think he was on the first page and he thought it was about spiritual power. But i could also be thinking of xue meng seeing the book.
It might be in book 3 but that doesn't come out till mid april

I just thought he liked him bcuz compared to others around him he felt more close to mo ran.Xue meng saw him as some immortal being. Sm wasn't that close to him. Other elders respected him bcuz of how strong he was or bcuz they feared him. It was only moran who foolishly approached him. And in the second time line he can be said to have romantic feelings for moran bcuz his broken soul from the first timeline went to him so bcuz of that bits of memories and feelings he felt attracted to mo ran . Yep. Chu WanNing definitely loved little Mo Ran in the first timeline, probably starting when Mo Ran was around 15 (making Chu WanNing 25) because it’s clear from the first Chu WanNing POV that he’s liked Mo Ran romantically for a while, presumably prior to when Mo Ran was reincarnated(?) into his old body, and because nothing was different to the first life at this point (other than some things Mo Ran said/did) that means Chu WanNing definitely liked little Mo Ran from the first timeline romantically.

Also, I would argue that it’s not as problematic as some people make it out to be. Like, Chu WanNing was planning on hiding his feelings for Mo Ran and never letting anyone know because he hated himself so much for falling for his own disciple, which I’d have to argue is fine (in my opinion) because I genuinely don’t see the issue in adults liking teens as long as they acknowledge that it’d be wrong to act upon it and, based on that knowledge, *don’t act upon it.* (Literally Chu WanNing never initiated the romantic side of the relationship until he was totally certain that Mo Ran reciprocated & was fine with dating him).

Not much good memories of the first timeline is mentioned. Cwn did like mo ran but romantically? There was some line like getting treated by like this by the one you loved. But we don't know in what way that 'love' was used. Cwn felt good about mo ran and some years later all that thing happened. They weren't that close during that period. Cwn was worried cuz he felt guilty.
