One of the best parts of Little Mushroom is when AZ has just arrived in the human base and is reading the rule book and he's like 'I am a very law-abiding little mushroom'
Also by the end of the book the phrase 'he was just a little mushroom' might cause you to cry a bit, fair warning there.
I wished I had been warned beforehand I finished the whole thing in 2 days and now I can never look at mushrooms the same way ..😢

I have to admit that screaming-crying into my book that "he's just a little mushroom!" was not something that I expected to do when I started reading this, especially when everything that was happening was so understandable and plausible, because, in the begining, I didn't expect to get emotionally invested at all. It really is a great read!
This book took me by surprise .. I went in expecting some shallow bl action between interspecies kinda plot but it ended with me bawling my eyes out😢😢

Would you mind summarising them for me bc I read this book on a website called novelcool but the extras are no where to be found and can only be bought but I cant buy them due to personal reasons and I'm really curious as to how the story ends in a happily ever after bc that book ending was definitely not happy 😭😭😭

I don't know if they clarified this at the end of the novel, but it turns out that An Zhe's spore was actually a Get A Free Life life cheat. It grew into an exact replica of his body, complete with his memories, and he woke up a couple of years later. Don't quote me on this because it's been a while, but I think that he might even be immortal now? And humanity was slowly recovering. They finally accepted that not all mutations are bad. The flora and fauna are also recovering, and An Zhe and Lu Feng get their happily ever after and are disgustingly cute. I don't remember all the details, but I hope this helps somewhat!

(I wanna know of all the cute scenes between the 2 👀) but yh the book ended at "he was just a little mushroom" and didnt elaborate further so I thought he just dies and sacrifices himself for the world and that's it but I'm glad theres more to it im happy I can finally have some sort if conclusion thank you 😭💖

I bought this book a few months ago and it's just been eating dust on my shelf, but Stitch explained the book in such a persuasive and entertaining manner that I'll read it as soon as I have time to do so.

I must say, this novel is super beautiful. I read it about two years ago, but I didn't expect it to have an English version.
There are many sentences I like very much (I translated them myself, not necessarily the same as the English version, and they involve spoilers)
The last struggle of mankind towards extinction is not a magnificent war, but a deep cry

I absolutely loved this novel. ❤️ 😢
There were quite a lot of scenes that made me so sad but the ending was satisfactory!
One thing I have to add is
Besdies, the main two, do not get attached to side characters. For your own wellbeing...
I loved Little Mushroom so much more than I was expecting! I don't usually go in for reading scifi, especially end of the world scenarios because it can sometimes be a little too depressing, but An Zhe is just such a cute lil' fella and such a breath of fresh air in what is essentially an incredibly dark and hopeless scenario. 11/10, kind of think I might go for a re-read now I've been reminded of how much fun I had with it! Definitely a story that needs more love!
Its one of the well written story with balance between two leads. Both backstory is sobbing 🤧... anyway, AZ is shooo cutie and the spore is so fun to read... of course LU FENG is so alpha male but with so much heart for his AZ 🥰

Good choice! I read this as it was being fan TLed and bought the physical books just recently. LM is an amazing novel and it's been one of my favourites since I first started reading it.
Also, seeing the thing about the unexpected amount of bees on that bingo made me laugh.

I loved Little Mushroom. It was a lot darker than I had expected but I kind of enjoyed that. The best part for me was the existential questions posed in the book. It is just so good!
After watching this video I bought both books and honestly couldn't but them down. I literally found myself saying, "Just one more chapter," two nights in a row and ended up going to bed around midnight. I was expecting a fun, easy BL novel, but it had so much more depth to it. It reminded me of Andre Norton's early sci-fi work, with an Aldus Huxley's Brave New World philosophical bent. I kept thinking, "My goodness, this is deep." And then An Zhe would think, "I'm just a little mushroom," and I was reminded all over again how fun and silly this could be, too. Thank you for recommending this book, I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise, and I would have missed such an amazing read.

I’ve had the first book in my “pile of books to read” for a month now, not really knowing exactly what it was about but knowing that it’s danmei and I bought it ‘cause I have no impulse control 😂. This is my favorite danmei of all time!! I read it in Chinese so idk how the English translation went, but the storyline and every was just so beautiful TvT I was so excited seeing you posting a video on this (happy mushroom noise) hopefully more people would recognize this amazing work hehe (excuse my bad grammar :')

I haven't read this, but I literally stumbled across it the DAY AFTER the frat boys in my university's anime club decided to refer to "Sabikui Bisco" (which we were watching in club) exclusively as "Gay Mushrooms" (previously they were calling it "Mushrooms On an Acid Trip".) Naturally, I took a screenshot of the cover and description and posted it on the club Discord server and was like, "Guys! I found another gay mushroom series!"
Edit: As a huuuge "No.6" fan, I've got to read this now. Seriously, as a fun extra bonus in the anime club D&D campaign I told the players (my fellow officers) that some NPCs and situations would be based on anime, manga, and light novels, and there is AN ENTIRE QUEST LINE based on "No.6"...

I’ve read this before it’s licensed. You should read another one of author’s stuff (excuse my English, I forgot the exact word. I’m not a native) called I Am Not Human (I think?). Or just go find Rainbow Turtle. They’re the ones fan translating this novel before it got licensed. Their taste is very much classics and their translation is superb.

I have to thank Stitch for reading and discussing Little Mushroom! Her feelings literally allowed me to quiet my inner critic long enough to read it, and now I'm in love with danmei, as I've never been before. The tv shows were hit and miss, but this book is like a gateway drug, helping me to remember my love of reading.
I'd already discovered MXTX and thought it was just her writing. But no, Little Mushroom has me in love with life and danmei as a whole. The tone with which the story is written, helps me take the couple seriously, to the point that the appearance of any romance, was beyond satisfying. I want to feel this kind of reading engagement forever. So thank you, Stitch, for investing your time and attention to introduce us to all of these incredible books. I love Little Mushroom so much. It was the third danmei I've read and till this day I miss it. I want to read it again without all the memories. That's how good it is. Along with Mist:Unlimited and QQGK (and maybe Can Ci Pin), they have really changed my worldview in life, all the while making my aroace heart happy...would recommend any danmei reader to read unlimited flow and sci-fi danmeis because they are top-tier 💯💯 🔝

But yeah, Little Mushroom is amazing. A live adatation with money and a serious crew would showcase it so well, I hope it happens someday. The story has everything and made right. The only thing you can wish for more is romance day-to-day life but since the world is ending and the two protagonists being how they are, it's totally understandable - plus it's not like those don't exists!
