Tiger crews were selected from the best regular panzer crews so they were elite in operating a tank. Unfortunatly this simulation does not take in account the bad optics of russian tanks and supreme optics of the germans, a tiger could not only defeat armor at range but confidently hit it aswell.

Half of the Tigers run out of gas before facing the russians. 2. After crushing 25 KVs Red Army send more 25 in battleground. 3. Russian artillery already annihilated half of the armour and ammunition depot. 4. Mechanical failure are chronic problem of over engineered German machines in harsh cold temperatures of Russia.

Seems pretty accurate. The Tigers prevailed, but lost 2/3 of their numbers doing it. Can't help but wonder how it would have gone if the Soviet tanks had kept moving instead of merely taking up static positions and allowing the German gunners to zero in on them. As the range closed, their 85mm guns would have become a much greater threat.

As a russian, I would like to say that KV-85 had been very rare tank. It was replaced with IS-1 who eas a bit better, but, honestly speaking, IS-1 would be devastated by tiger too, unfortunately.

In addition the effective front turret was 140 - 225 mm (mantlet + turret armor). The center of the mantlet was 140-150 mm, while the rest was 90-125 mm backed up by heavy bars of 100 mm turret armor.
Umm using War Thunder as a source for Russian APHE isn’t a good idea.Their penetrations are slightly exaggrated compared to actual and they also ridiculously overperform against sloped armor.

The KV-85 was in no way considered an enemy of the Tiger, the real enemy of the Tiger was and remains the IS-2.
