2003 Ford Escape Check Engine Light ~ P0403 EGR Code - Solenoid Connection Fix

I have been having a consistent engine code going on with my 2003 escape; P0403. After replacing the EGR valve, and then the solenoids, the code kept coming back!
Well after extensive research it looks like I finally narrowed it down to an internal cable break on one of the solenoid connections (though it physically looked okay and was not loose/wobbly). Here is the fix!
I had such a hard time finding info on this while researching this fix, so I made this video to hopefully help someone one out!

Thanks Jon! I had a P0403 after replacing the Engine and my issue was EXACTLY like you said! Purple wire looked fine but broken inside at the bend. Connected and took care of the CEL - saved me a bunch of diag!

😂 I’ve had that code for ever and like you I also have to fix it due to smog check. I also changed all those parts so my next step was to check for power and this just helped me a lot cause that same wire looks if you me on my Escape
