    While visiting from the US, I spent some time in London talking with a former Royal Scots Dragoon. We learned we shared the same opinion on many things and when we parted he gave me a hug. One of my proudest moments! Sharing a moment of male bonding with a Royal Scots Dragoon! I am former USAF.

    My roommate at the New Kabul Compound in Kabul was a Royal Signals officer - his father-in-law passed unexpectedly and he was given an immediate emergency leave to return to England - he was picked up about 9pm by a detachment of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards who took him to Kabul International Airport to start the trip home. They were as competent and professional a group of men as I have met in over 30 years with the US Army.

      And the same thing came to my attention, he replied that someone from Australia forgot how and by whom this continent was inhabited - by thugs and convicts sent from England to hell (in the ass). And such ignorance of history exposes an imbecile and an oligophrenic .It’s enough for an unprofitable brain to read a couple of books.. But the hand doesn’t reach for writing, but not for analysis. It’s hard for hard-working brains.Kangaroo - so I don’t understand the local dialect, but the British thought it was the name of the animal... So you are - Kangaroo.

God Bless you all - and keep sounding those PIPES AND DRUMS!!!

      @john jack scotland is a country on the island of britain. It is british. Also every military has its moments. Its inevitable.

    • @sethbennett617
      @sethbennett617 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @john jack if you are going to drag this back to the dark ages then you are less correct than i am. The island we call britain was known by the celts of both england and scotland as bryton. Alba in the dark ages was used by the gaels of the highlands to refer specifically to the highlands. Not scotland, just the highlands. When the romans arrived in england they called it albion. They never called it britain. The term britain is just as scottish as it is english. It is a geographical and geological term. British is a term used to infere genetic likening. Not cultural likening. It does not imply any similarity with the english. So dont jump to conclusions.

    • @sethbennett617
      @sethbennett617 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @john jack also i am scottish myself. And im proud of it. Im also proud to be british. For some reason lots of scots have decided to lump our hate onto the english. When in general the english are good people. Dont spit on the common english man. He has done nothing to you. If you really have to hate something then hate the upper class. And dont say the upper class is mostly english, the bit of it relevant to you is as scottish as you are.

    • @sethbennett617
      @sethbennett617 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @john jack albion in latin means white. the romans called it albion. because the first thing they saw of the island was the white cliffs of dover. bryton is the term used by the peoples of the island that is GEOGRAPHICALLY called britain. Alba refers specifically to the highlands. aka anything north of the great glen. the south western isles are the dal riata (a term still used commonly by people nearby to refer to the area. the rest is broken up into the orkneys, shetland, aberdeenshire and the lowlands. end of. britain was not a term created by the english. it was created by the greater peoples of the british isles. and even if you want to bluntly refuse that the scottish are in anyway related to the english at all (which is bollocks you had to get to scotland by going through england) you can do that. you cannot however say that the big island off the coast of france is not geographically called britain. albion isnt an option, thats roman. you really dont have a choice. the fact is that the island is called britain. you cant deny that. sure you can spit racist nonsense and try and deny that scotland isnt connected to england. but nothing wil change the fact that scotland and england are irrevocably linked. you dont like us, which is understandable to an extent. but its also doesnt make sense. considering it was a scotsman that created the united kingdom of england, scotland and wales. so please i beg of you, just stop.

    • @sethbennett617
      @sethbennett617 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @john jack the common english man hasnt done anything to you, him and his ancestors going back for several 100 years have been struggling to survive under the crushing weight of ridiculously high taxes and the gradually stripping of his common lands (basically and english clearances) by the snobby upper class that he loathes with an unending hatred but cant do anything about because it has pushed into a position that he cant get out of. the scottish upperclass have done more damage to scotland than the english have. and you know that to be true

      As an American, I have always respected Queen Elizabeth! I can remember watching her coronation, but before that I remember how King George and his family stayed in London with their people during the war! Most other Royal families of many other nations, left for safety at the first sound of danger, but King George said they would stay with their people, and they endured the 91 days of Nazi bombing same as their people!
      And Princess Elizzbeth was out with the other young women as a VAD, (as I recall the name) driving and working with the other young women! How many Queens can say that?! She is a true Queen to her people!

    When I hear a pipe band I get tears in my eyes. I really do not know why. Precisely the brass section make it complete! If I can, I make motorcycle trip through Scotland in the future. I think it already 1000x better than a beach holiday in Turkey. I know now for sure. From 0:37 part. I get goose bumps, nothing is better than analog music.
    PART 2
    Goosebumps. Sure piece between the 37th 0:37 second and the 1:04 min. Top piece. Everything is right at my headset. Rhythm, pitch, melody, Tone, Harmony, Style, Dynamics. And believe me, I hear everything, not just the taste, situation or atmosphere can be a "match" but also technical side of the whole. I feel as if I am there. And there is the fact that it was recorded with good equipment and the acoustic situation is the finishing touch. Nothing but nothing is better than analog and acoustic instruments. I get "Goosebumps" of this. Because ultimately, it MUST all still be analog again! Let the source and everything in between, which then so be it, but this approach certainly summit of perfection.
    (I apologize for any translation errors)
    And of course, my respect for the men and women that maintain the world peace, uphold justice, and supervise.

      +archie bloggs Wrong, as a Scot I prefer to be called British as it is politically correct to do so. You don't call people from Ontario in Canada "Ontarians", we call them Canadians. Nor do we call people from Qaxaca in Mexico "Qaxacians" we call them Mexicans. So why should we in the far north of the U.K. be called Scottish before British? On a local level sure but when talking to people abroad it's more appropriate to say British, after all without Britain we'd be fucked

      @@marcrich974 Wenn unsere Bundeswehr mit dem Heeresmusikkorps so durch die Straßen ziehen würden wenn sie aus dem Ausland zurückkommen, würde hier alle Kollektiv völlig Durchdrehen und wer weiß was draus machen. Was sehr sehr Schade ist, denn auch wenn ich mich hier für einige weit aus dem Fenster lehne, verdient hätten es unsere Jungs und Mädels alle mal wenn sie wieder Heim kommen. Darauf kann man zurecht Stolz sein. Aber das darf man ja nicht sagen sonst wird man sofort in eine rechte Ecke gestellt.

    Extremely proud to be an American of Scottish and I fervently hope Irish ancestry. No matter which of the three flags, I would be proud to serve under any or all of the three. Whichever, If I had to go into battle I’d want it to be to the sound of the pipes. There is nothing that can compare to them in my opinion.

    There is something about the army of a free people. They carry themselves differently. They don't fight for conquest or a ruthless dictator, they choose to enlist to protect their country and its people. As an American living in the land of the free, we are proud to call the Scots our allies.
