I had the opportunity to visit Scotland this summer, and although apart from a day trip I stayed in Edinburgh, I got to see an amazing Tattoo and got to experience the friendliness and openness of the Scottish people which I envy greatly as a Swiss. I will definitely come back again soon!

well, this is a bit different than the old recruitment drives... ie 40 shillings on the drum :D but nothing against the regiment... my grandfather was RSM in WW1 after serving in the 2nd Boer War in a Guards Regiment... he blessed me at my birth with the comment, "Cannon Fodder"... unfortunately he was gone before I was 3...
And at the end, a brass-band rendition of Scotland The Brave that seems much influenced by the vocal version: "Tow'ring in gallant fame // Scotland my mountain hame! "

These are not scottish traditions. This is the british army, all are loyal to british crown and there is a lot of english people in these regiments.
