- In 1971, I got a job working for Bob Baxter in Los Angeles making guitar transcriptions for his "Baxter Books" publications on how to play finger style guitar. Bob was an owner of McCabe's in Santa Monica, CA, and deeply involved in the local music scene. This piece is one of my transcriptions: The Entertainer, a Scott Joplin piano rag. The rag was orchestrated by Marvin Hamlisch and made famous by the movie "The Sting" two years later.
Absolutely stunning
Thanks much, William!
Pure genius, Tom!-- always a pleasure!! 👍👏💪🏆😊
Thanks so much, Mark!
Beautifully played!
Thank you, Warren!
Beautifully played, and your arrangement makes the the tune sound like it was written for the guitar.
Thank you, Todd. That is always my goal. Once we accept that we can’t play all notes a piano can, it opens up a world of possibilities
Perfection!
Thank you, Steve--Mr. Perfection himself!
