Admittedly I think the highlight on hair as a black performer kinda makes sense especially when aimed at kids to not worry about haterz (bullies) . I don’t thinks it’s great song, but I think that may have been what they were kinda going for.

It reminds me of seeing Corey Feldman on tv performing with his band. He was terrible, but was able to book a performance on the Today Show because he's a celebrity. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy, but his music was awful, bordering on self parody
