I love this! Here in the rocky mountains, having regen to help slow the truck down while towing a trailer down a mountain will be so beneficial!

But we gotta pray it'll come to Canada/US!

What about a PHEV Everest? I am also really looking forward the upcoming Pajero Sport PHEV. Hope it will have around 20kw/h of battery like the Outlander.

Yep they should be smart and have diesel hybrid.

Over $100k… u would think ford would have learned its lesson from pricing the Mach E too high and it not selling. This doesn’t have the emotional buying power of a Raptor…

Shame it's coming too late to benefit from the rebates on novated leasing for PHEV's

No reason a phev must be petrol. Mercedes offered diesel hybrids. The issue is diesel engine size and weight plus electric power offers torque, the reason customers bought higher torque lower top speed diesels in the first case. You could easily run a ute on full electric powered by a small high revving petrol engine tiny higher performance Ford 3cyl Ecoboost when it needs charging

2.3 L4 Ecoboost turbo needs more power to match Mustang Ecoboost and requires E10 94 unleaded cleaner for PHEV than 91 unleaded.

not gonna fly for business or tradies in aus , if the can mate a petrol motor to the battery , they can do it for the diesel , it just comes down to will and ford obviously wants to sell even less vehicles in aus.

Nope, it’s not a sign diesel is dead. Probably good for city people where stop/start running kills EGR/dpf equipment, but rural runners or off-roaders need the diesel for its TRUE range. Electric won’t tow jack…unless you’re only going to Bunnings and back with the trailor. By the city boundry your battery is dead towing a 3 tonne kiddy crate on the back and the rest of your trip you’re not only towing your bedroom, but also a dead battery and another motor around for the next 500km.
Fords meeting agenda pushed mandates only….ive not heard one Ranger owner wishing for a highly strung petrol engine carting another engine and battery around for those 30km (real world) electric km. Maybe in the city, in which case why do you need a Ranger anyway? But rural….get real
